- My Biggest Project EVER. Carlton's 2023 was an eventful & unique one in many ways, and so I had to make a documentary about it. Countless hours of planning, filming, and editing later, I bring you 2 and a half hours worth of highs & lows, featuring your favourite online Carlton personalities, helping portray an eventful representation of the rollercoaster that was the 2023 AFL season.

I've been a proud blues 💙 supporter my hole life and I actually used to play with mcvee an even went to school with him. To see him go up against doc I knew we had it then he was too late in his timing the play was brilliant not much else to say but go blues 💙💙💙 2024 oh an thank you blakey!!!

I can not stand blues fans. It makes me ashamed to barrack for the club. I love this team no matter what but apparently other supporters only love it when we win. That is not loyalty. And the guy saying strip crippa of his captaincy is an absolute clown.
Prominent football clubs wouldn’t be big without bandwagoners jumping on when a team is good. Bad times bring out some interesting takes haha. You’re never gonna have a supporter base on the same page when you’re losing, that’s just how sport works

I was born in a small Victorian town where everyone ( except the European Migrants) went for Essendon I hated Essendon & did the unthinkable at 5 yrs old supporter of Carlton in 1970 I went to Melbourne & saw my first game Carlton v Hawthorn & loved it thank you Saba for this documentary ❤❤❤to you go Blues !
I'm a lions fan. After the 2023 season and especially after watching this video, I definitely respect Carlton. This video gave a real insight to their culture and mentality and it is awesome. To get where they did were they were from midway through the season was unbelievable.

Cheers mate, it's like a wasteland when trying to find a Collingwood supporter who understands the deeper meaning behind this doco. I don't know why most can't wrap their head around being able to enjoy a flag whilst also acknowledging the good season of a rival football club. If anything, this is great for the rivalry and Carlton being better should be welcomed (which is the attitude you've adopted which I can appreciate). The big prize is all we can hope for, and there's reason for optimism which is great.

I can't stand Carlton for 1 minute, but I can appreciate Carlton and acknowledge their brand of footy.
Back in the 90's, the Pies had a legendary player called Darren Millane tragically pass away in a car accident.
The outpouring of grief from all in the AFL was so great, the Herald Sun had never experienced so many people publish in their obituary section. It broke their records.
One message from a Blues fan read, 'without Carlton there is no Collingwood and without Collingwood, there is no Carlton. Rest in peace DM'. That message resonated with me. Hard to hate on the Blues when you read a comment like that.

Definitely true, "no Collingwood without Carlton".
Carlton's VFA delegate Jack Melville, championed Brittania's application to join the VFA as "Collingwood."
Collingwood's first VFA senior game was at Victoria Park against Carlton. It was a Carlton home game because Collingwood had fixtured only 17 games in 1892 and 18 matches was the requirement to compete for the premiership.
So Carlton cancelled a match and played Collingwood.
Carlton donated the gate takings to the new club.
Carlton had been a senior club for 28 years with a long and famous history before the advent of Collingwood.
It could be said, "No Australian Football without the Carlton Football Club", but that is another story.
100% agree, I can get behind some banter out of it being a rivalry, but failing to acknowledge a good football team when you see one is something I wish we saw more of but don’t see enough of

This doco is unbelievable, the journey us fans endured and shows how United this club became in a short period, this reminds me why I’m a Carlton fan, some of the moments I witnessed were just incredible and will never forget. You wouldn’t know we didn’t win the flag in 23 the way the club played and the fans were
Having just moved back to VIc after living away for 35 odd years. My wife having never been to an AFL/VFL game, I will be getting her to watch this Documentary to see what football means to every Blues Supporter. Well done, saving this one, excellent job putting this together.

I have seen the Acres Goal 100 times and I still to this day get tears and choke up...I have seen 8 Grand Finals in my life and that is the GREATEST moment I have seen..To be there with my 2 kids, after where we have been for the last 28 years. Greatest thing ever
For a generation of supporters who hadn't watched football that deep into September, mixed in with the context of that moment, it's very hard to articulate the euphoria that came with that Acres goal for sure

The club after the Essendon and Sydney games did the right thing. They got rid of that toxic prick Mathieson. He "quit" but I reckon he was told to hand in his resignation after the bust up in the change rooms.
I'm lucky enough to work at the MCG, and I managed to get off early for both of our finals wins.
Against Sydney, it almost felt like the celebration started early, and when they kicked that last goal, it was just a surprise, and didn't really bring the nerves back. To be honest, I don't really remember it as much as the next game, I remember the semi a lot more clearly.
It has to be the most euphoric night of sports I have ever experienced. I was running ID check on one of the larger take-away bars on level 1, and since the Matildas game went into the start of the footy, one of the only screens showing the shootout was above the bar, meaning a small crowd of people in green and gold scarves congregated in front of the queue ropes. I have to admit, I was barely doing my job during the penalties, and I had already shouted myself horse before half time.
Fast forward to the last quarter, bar closes, and I'm hopping foot to foot to sign off. I run into the stands and get myself a standing spot in front of the Cricket Victoria box, right at the top of the race, with not long left in the game. I don't have a good angle on the field, especially when everyone stands up, which is exactly what happened when the fateful play was made, so I'm looking at the big screen.
As each mark happens, Weitering, Hollands, Docherty, Acres, the pitch of the noise reached another level of fervor. When that goal went in, the stadium just erupted. I sprinted the width of the race back and forth in front of the box about 7 times, screaming without words and drinking in the stone faced stares of the row of upper class Melbourne supporters behind the glass in the box. The last minute was tense and still as loud but when timer hit zero we drowned out the siren.
I felt like I was on another planet. I sprinted down the isle with no real end goal and collided with the others doing the same. I hugged strangers old and young, I still have the blurry selfies with people I may never see again. When I calmed down enough to take a breath, I climbed on the seats and took picture after picture of the players on the boundary. Only after they finally went down the race did I start texting all my family at the game.
The first person I met was my uncle, staring shell shocked at his phone outside the Hugh Trumble room. When I came up to him he just said "I just cannot believe we won. I just don't know how we did that." We met up with my mum, my auntie and two of my cousins and just talked about the game. I think I bought a scarf on my phone right then and there. We stayed and talked until security told us to leave. I went and got changed and met back up with them talking to more relatives through the back gate of Hugh Trumble. Some of them were talking about the plans to go to Brisbane, because if you had the chance but didn't, how would you forgive yourself? Eventually we all walked up the hill to Jolimont together.
An absolutely unforgettable night. If I ever get a tattoo, I think I'm getting "Weitering, Hollands, Docherty, Acres" and the date, on my ankle.

I was lucky enough to be born in 1968 and see Carlton win several flags. My oldest son was born in 1995 when we won our last flag. He said to me one day can I change my team dad. I said you can change your sex or religion but you never change your team. I believe this is our year 🎉❤
Congratulations and thank you to all of you involved in making this documentary. I’m 53 and a lifelong, fiercely loyal Carlton supporter. I’m lucky enough to have witnessed the 1995 Premiership which was amazing after an incredible season.
Our current team have everything they need to win a Grand Final & I’m really excited for the upcoming season.
I’ve worked & lived overseas (America, UK, Bahama’s, Mexico) & there is nothing like the atmosphere of an AFL game. We have a truly unique sport celebrated by truly unique supporters.

What an interesting turn of events. I just realised, had we beaten Pies in 22’, we would’ve played Brisbane in an EF. Makes you wonder what that experience may have done for the group come the prelim in 23’ when we were 30 points up at quarter time. Sliding doors moment one might say.
My heart breaks for , me , all Carlton Supporters, but the younger one's, I first snuck into the MCG , age 10 , in 1968 , with and , #1, watch CARLTON break it's second longest drought #2 the first side to win a Premiership kicking less goals , So Carl 7 14 56 Def Ess 8 5 53 , and 8 Flags later and 5 loses also , we were just there always , but there was an agenda to get CARLTON, after 95 , AFL heavyweights , Hamilton, Oakley' , but I don't and never have believed in co- incidence , formed 1864 , no spoons till was it 2001 , 5 now , so what a 139 of football couldn't do , the AFL did , with the stroke of a pen , and it was the following the hearts and souls of CARLTON people who got it , not a nameless entity , a lot will be thinking what is this guy on about , it's what they did to Carlton , a Record fine , loss of draft picks , for years , 4 list spots , of suddenly retired, players , like Silvagni , Diesal , Bradley , Brown , taxation problems , then ,just when everything looks up , in come the expansion sides , who got everything, I really want the arrogant CARLTON BACK , 16 flags in 88 yrs , the only club to win 16 flags in the same century , the Shared Firsts , like the Crowd in1970 121,696 circa , 1972 vRichmond , First GRANDFINAL , to have 50 goals , now this Majestic Club is in her longest Premiership drought , this to change this , egregious, usurping of CARLTONS TRUE PLACE , TIME TO REDRESS THIS DISHONOURABLE ACT , GO BLUES RARARA
I live for this club we have to win the flag this year to go ahead of Collingwood and Essendon 😅❤

I was at Brisbane for the preliminary final and after the final siren, i felt gutted but proud of the team from where they came from mid season.
Watching this i couldnt help but be bemused by the fickle fan levels.
All the trumped up experts after the dons loss, say its the end of this group, theyre junk, rebuild, sell some A graders, sack the skipper.
Bloody hell, footy is a frickin hard game and every single week theres 22 blokes who want your balls for breakfast.
Success doesnt come easy. Or when "you" think it should.
At this rate, half our supporter base will be having triple bypass ops when we finally snag number 17.
Been lucky to see 8 of our 16, so yes the last one was a long time ago but .... with a bit of luck ...
With all due respect, I think fans were entitled to such a reaction with how poorly the team was consistently playing for weeks and weeks on end. That being said I think the high expectations going into the season probably contributed and so even though I know we need to go one better, I think I'll temper my expectations
Swan's fan, here. That is well done. We knew we lost that finals game as soon as our banner fell apart before our players came on the field. My idea is to collbubate with One Piece, the Manga-Amine Franchise. Theres songs like We Are, New Genisis, Paint that fit the team well.
Haha destiny was already written. I can have a listen to those soundtracks for sure

I'll say this, at our lowest point in the season a friend asked what is going on at Carlton? I said that at the moment things aren't working, but I said that it will turn around because I know what we're capable of, I ignored all the anger and vitriol and I believed in my club, that's what true support is
This was brilliant , to all the blue baggers out there see ya soon for the next chapter. CMON BAGGERS FOR LIFE.

Well done guys, it seems a lifetime ago the season that just was, the spectacular end of the season almost makes you forget the lacklustre start. The expectancy at the start of each season out weighed the results of previous season and the hurt of not reaching those expectations was soul destroying. I always expected a flick to switch somewhere along the way and always thought it would come earlier.
Now, now we have seen what these boys can do and hopefully they have the belief in themselves to carry us forward to the ultimate goal. We have depth now, so we have no excuses!

Those comments about the Pies really aged well especially that bloke who said they’d never get 16 titles. As far Charlie”flat track bully” Curnow kicking six is concerned the umps helped him to four of those and he didn’t fire a shot in three finals when it counted. That game was almost irrelevant to Collingwood. Flagpies!

@sabblues What can I say nothing is funnier than watching the blues “supporters” embarrass themselves as only they can. Leaving at 3/4 time and calling for Voss’s head one week in their unhinged manner then declaring themselves flag fancies within a couple of weeks.
This documentary isn't about the Pies bro & the banter was all in good fun to feed to the rivalry. I'm sure a more official platform will give your team plaudits in due time
I was stuck In Europe recovering from covid. I had to pay $29 a week to get video. Worth every penny at 10 in the morning.
I loved this doco. I used to love going to the game win or lose with my wife who passed away in ‘21. It’s been a rough 3 years.
You gave me my season and finals that I could not be here for. I cried and cheered and I can’t wait for 2024.
My son has chosen to get married overseas right on grand final day. I am doubting he’s mine.
