Hi Justin, your student, Ryne, here. I really like that you’re going all in on this direction. There is no universal technique to electric guitar- yet. However, I believe there should be, at least in certain aspects. It’s great to see you geeking out and breaking ground on fretting hand technique. This is something I (and I’m sure many others) would love to see case studies of, similar to Troy Grady’s studies of Eric Johnson’s et al picking hand technique
Hey Justin, this is great! One thing I noticed you seem to be doing but that you didn't talk about in this video is where your thumb goes in all of this? Directly behind the middle finger is where I noticed you are generally keeping the thumb anchored most of the time. I think that is important because beginners tend to try and move the thumb lower (toward the index finger) when stretching, which is backwards from what helps! For example I noticed while playing the stretchy-part in Tornado of Souls solo if I move my thumb up toward my middle or even ring finger even I can easily play it, but if I forget to do this I struggle. Any thoughts on this, or other videos about thumb placements to achieve greater stretching (and comfort)?
Underrated guitar channel. Please keep uploading content.
I love this kind of videos. I don’t know any other channel which makes videos like these.
THIS IS PURE GOLD! Thanks for this great vid, maestro!

a tip for all the guitar players who just play because girls: its NOT the guitar, its NOT you playing.. its the Extensor Digitorum movement
jason beckers fingers ☠
Figure 9 has an incorrect guitar hold, as the guitar is rested on the right knee in the figure.
I want that model. I think the Q547 is better than the QX527 that you featured here years ago 🙂
