I never liked him at all. I actually wanted Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth instead of that loser. He is doing this because Rarity embarrassed him and believe me he deserved every last bit of it.
1:40:38 I'm not going to lie, Blueblood's theory seems more desperate than clever. One hole in his line of logic is that in order to create the illusion of Coco Pommel framing herself would require her to hurry down the catwalk, run out the back to wash off her hooves, hurry back up the catwalk to where she was and reapply the glitter. All that within only five minutes and remember, that catwalk is incredibly rickkidy and too much movement can cause an noticable amount of noise, i.e the initial chase. Yet Playwright made no mention of any more noise coming from the catwalk after the hanging.
I think that’s the point, it shows how desperate he is and the glaring flaws are very fitting as he takes the role of Payne for this case who’s role is to serve as the tutorial boss before the main prosecutor takes over to challenge Phoenix and co.
The idea was probably for it to be a shitty theory but they definitely took the long way to disprove it yeah. It’s supposed to be a fun fan series. Any plot holes can be overlooked. Either suspend your disbelief or just fill in the holes yourself. Like maybe in Bluebloods scenario she shook herself dry like a dog and the water would’ve dried by the time anybody noticed because this exit wasn’t even a factor until Phoenix found the prints

Yeah but knowing Twilight, it's pretty obvious she would never pull the "royal authority" card on anyone even if it were warranted.She's too kind to go there.
The line did seem a little out of character for Blueblood - considering his elitism, she is one of the four ponies in Equestria he would consider to have the right to give him orders - Twilight Sparkle, Princess of Friendship, Element of Magic outranks everyone except possibly Celestia, Luna and Cadence. It's entirely in character for her to not pull rank on him in response, but it's out of character for him to try to pull rank on her. As somepony whose position depends entirely on his (distant) connection to royalty, and to others taking the rank of Princess seriously (in order to legitimise his own rank as Prince), he's the last pony to disrespect a Princess.
Ok so there's a few things I'd like to say after watching this portion of the Turnabout Theatre case. *1. I am incredibly impressed with how you guys handled writing Blueblood throughout this trial.* Normally when it comes to the very first case of an Ace Attorney title (at least as far as the first four games were concerned), I'd say it might've been pushing things to the extreme to make the first Prosecutor off to be the biggest and absolute scumbag right from the get go. BUT, Gaspen Payne exists and the first cases that involved him in both Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice were definitely taken to a whole new level that was definitely keeping folks on their toes and a lot of people could argue that guy is up there as some of the most hated Prosecutors in the series so really given that logic, it works out. With Blueblood, it makes perfect sense to make him as irritating as possible given his pompous personality and characteristics but still, WOW you guys went all out with him. I assume he's exclusively for this case alone but if he isn't and turns out to be the main Prosecutor that gets taken on, I certainly wouldn't object to that. *2. The animations throughout this video were absolutely well done....but they seem almost TOO good.* What I mean by this is, that everything from the ponies, to the courtroom/Defendant Lobby shown were fantastically well done, well animated and the designs were spectacular. The designers should give themselves multiple pats on the back for their hard work. Though there was one thing that kept bothering me and this is VERY minor. Everything looked so well done that the Phoenix sprite you guys used for the trial looked incredibly out of place when around everything else. Like, you could easily see the pixelated lines around him and what not. Like, The Judge had that problem too, but it wasn't as noticeable by comparison to when I looked at Phoenix and when you look at him, and you look at all the other designs of the Prosecution, the Defendant and the Witness back to back in this trial, it's pretty easy to tell how much he sticks out by comparison. This isn't a big deal nor is it anything bad design wise cause I can still look passed it and this isn't the fault of any of you guys, cause I'm assuming where you got it from, the original person who designed the Phoenix sprite probably had a hard time shifting it from it's original 3D model to make it more 2D like in the older AA games so it's like, with no other alternatives (Cause I don't think anyone has made any HD versions of the DD/SoJ sprite for Phoenix yet), it can't be helped, but I was wondering about your thoughts on that in particular and if you had noticed just how much Phoenix stuck out compared to most of the others in general. *3. The VA's in general despite some of them being replacements have done remarkably well with this episode.* I especially want to personally take note of JuliusGem, AdoxographistVA and Otiscat123 in particular. The first two's roles as Phoenix and Athena respectively have improved very well in my opinion compared to when I first heard their portrayals in part 1 of this case and as for Otiscat, I've practically fallen in love with her Rarity portrayal! She did an excellent job as her. Course I'm still trying to adapt going from Rarity's Turnabout Storm VA to this one since I thought the TS portrayal was spectacularly accurate in that project. But Otiscat definitely did very well and nailed it with said character. So honestly if any of them somehow take the time to read what is probably a giant wall of my thoughts, I hope they continue with this project, I'd love to hear more of their lovely voices within it and they should also give themselves a pat on their backs as well. (The other VA's not mentioned also were well done. Though I admit it did take me a bit to get used to Blueblood's voice before quickly adapting to it as the video went on and on another note, it is so awesome to see the TS VA reprise his role as the Judge again. I love em.) Overall, those were my thoughts/feedback and Part 2 of Turnabout Theatre was very well worth the effort and time that was put into it. Good job to all of you involved and I definitely will be looking forward to the Part 3 conclusion of what is so far a very engaging first Case.
1. YES! We wanted Blueblood to be as annoying as possible, yet at the same time be an actual threat! We didn't want him to be a punching bag, which is actually one of the big problems in the original script. 2. Yeah, we know that the pixelated sprites of the AA characters can be a little jarring with the artstyle of the MLP universe. We thought about using the 3D sprite rips of DD/SoJ, but it would be even MORE jarring to have 3D rips clashing with the 2D world. in order to try to compensate this for the future, me and another member of the team are working on our own HD sprites that are in 2D, just like in the AA HD Trilogy. Though don't expect that to be done in a good while. 3. JuliusGem has listened to people's criticisms, and used it to improve his Phoenix portrayal, so I'm glad that it's paying off! And you're gonna hear more of Adox and Otiscat later on, so be excited for that!

Have you considered just enlarging the AA sprites through waifu2x or another similar program? That wouldn't make them vectorized eye-candy like the rest of the art, but it would at least reduce the pixelation, which is better than nothing.
While I also agree that the sprite designs that are in this series seem a little off, I would have to say that it gives the series a unique style and has a lasting impact on our memory. I would also like to say that I really enjoyed the pony character of Playwright. I relate so much to him and his everlasting goal of striving for perfection in the theater since I'm also a theater geek myself. And how he was willing to defend Coco when he realized he was in the wrong and wanted to make it right. Along with the fact that he also realized that by the end that one can never truly achieve pure perfection. Also, the voice actor did an excellent job portraying his character. Who ever they are I tip my fedora to you my friend.
Wow. Blueblood is WAY more fun to hate than Trixie ever was. Even his voice sounds way closer to him in the show than Trixie's in Turnabout Storm. I sure hope we get to see more of him as this series goes on.

@@dannysmi7162 How would you propose we fix that issue, then? We can't just interrupt the episode every 30 minutes or so to review the court record. And while we will be adding a court record to the description for future cases, since it's not a part of the video, I can imagine some people not even looking at it. The only other possible solution I can think of is to bring the court record up when Phoenix needs to present evidence, and have it operate as a selection screen, where we animate a cursor going across the evidence to pick the right one, but that seems really out-of-place with the style both TS and this series have established, not to mention the fact that it won't include evidence and testimony that's only discussed, and not actually added to the CR.

The animation work was brilliant, the writing was excellent, and the voice acting was absolutely magnificent. Twilight turning her head towards Phoenix is what really caught me off guard. I did not expect that. I thought it'd snap from one portrait to another but no. There was actually some frames of animation of her actually turning her head towards Phoenix. That blew my mind the most to be honest.
This...was...amazing! I was on edge the whole time, seeing how things would play out, and I was not disappointed! Awesome to hear DaWillstanator as the Judge, and TheNightStar is an excellent Blueblood. Such emotional revelations, and those turnabouts, bringing the case back from the brink...mind-blowing! I'm already excited to see how this will all end, with everything that's building up to the eventual truth, but this part was _so_ worth the wait! Damn.... just... damn... This is so brilliant! The feeling of the original Ace Attorney games as well as the characters from MLP are portrayed SO WELL here! The heavy plot of Ace Attorney is there, the faithful recreation of Blueblood, Coco, and everyone! You guys have really outdone yourself! Now for another excruciating wait, 'till the next episode! I'm stoked!
Well, this was definitely worth the wait. The fact that this is only the first case in a multi-case series, and it's gotten this emotional (that revelation between Overall and Coco in particular hit me in the feels pretty hard), is nuts to me and I'm already extremely excited to see what else happens after this trial is done with. (Also, my theory about Suri being the real culprit still seems to be pretty accurate, minus how she knew about the fabric, anyway.) As for any feedback, while most of my positives with the first episode stand (if not moreso here), I.e. the overall presentation (art, character models/animation, voice acting (Blueblood's VA in particular sounded perfect for him, and it's awesome to hear DaWillstanator as the Judge and Wubcake as Twilight)), I still think Phoenix's VA (while probably a bit better than the first part) still needs a bit of work. IDK, I think just the overall emotional range isn't quite there yet like his VA in Turnabout Storm; he's got the serious stuff down pretty nicely, but the rest could be improved through better direction. Other than that, and a few visual hiccups here and there, keep up the great work, and I eagerly await to see the next part, and the rest of this series unfold. 👍
I know this is hard to admit but it just dawned on me when Overall Concept had planned to propose to Coco... It is February, at least in the video, and the trial is taking place on the 12th, he was going to propose on Valentine's day. Now I really want to tear apart the pony who committed the murder...
Blueblood the highest form of society that cannot accept failure. And the way he prosecuted this trail made me very happy with how the staff wrote him. That comeback after the paint being presented was the the biggest hail mary from a desperate pony.
That scene Update 11 showed, combined with this image, I can already call the pre-trial scene: Rarity furious at Blueblood for prosecuting against Coco. 😆
Cons: it's so jarring to see the obvious style differences between ace attorney and mlp. With how fluid the ponies are, yet rough the humans look. A bit of too much "fluff" in my opinion. Some questionable dialog moments (one of cocos crying was put in really..badly.) Pros: the story is amazing. And I can feel the sorrow in coco. Twilight showing how she's matured by being more quiet and letting pheonix run the show. Small tidbits like extra moving when not needed adds flair. I loved it!

Part 1 of this video? I'm assuming you don't mean Episode 1, right? As one of the writers, I'd appreciate any criticism you can give, but I don't quite understand what it is you're talking about here, so some clarification would be appreciated.
@@Gexon1000 I highly doubt Blueblood is related to the princesses, he is most likely adopted just like Princess Cadance, she was originally a orphan Pegasus raised by earth ponies until she helped a mare named Prismia changed her horrible way, that's when she became a Alicorn and met Celestia who adopted her as her niece.
HOLY, it's insane to see how much just about each department was improved on from the first episode already! Visuals: All great overall, i loved the amount of expressions Blueblood had and while Phoenix court sprites aren't perfect they still capture his spirit of the 3D games very well. Introduced Characters: Speaking of Blueblood, i was expecting some pushover for the first case as Payne usually is but we actually got someone legit threatening and downright creepy in some sprites, i was very happy how he turned out by hating what an annoyance he is and don't want anything more than to Phoenix and Twi to shut him down. The Judge making his debut was great as well, mainly because he always makes the trials a blast with his usual antics. Voices: Absolute Fantastic! All the ones reprising their roles did amazing and i cant wait for them to get their own time to shine later on, mainly Apollo or Athena. DaWillstanator as the Judge was amazing, reminded me a lot of the turnabout storm one in all the good ways. Wubcake as Twilight was super fun to listen to and is a great fit for the role. Same for PrettyPegasusWings as the new Coco Pommel, who did a lovely job. TheNightStar as Blueblood was especially great, did an overall awesome job selling me on his entire character. Writing: Needless to say that the first episode was rough around the edges but that makes it so much more satisfying seeing it come together this well for the second one. Characters reacted and spoke how i felt they would and the entire trial just had me at the edge for the majority of its run time so major props to the writing team! Overall I'm blown away by the second episode, i loved about all of it and i can't wait to see how better it will get as the cases progress as i only see things improving even further from here and thanks to everyone that helped make this one so awesome!

Everyone did such a masterful and glorious job on this i love it, and i look forward to the next part, and personally i bet my money on Suri Polomare being the murderer, especially since she has a motive, and as for Prince Blueblood being involved in the trial, i wonder if that was a coincidence or maybe...it makes me think what if Blueblood was somewhat in on the murder?...boom plot twist.

I don't blame her for being angry first her protégé has been accused of murdering her potential fiancé, then she runs into that jerk mare from when she lived in Manehatten, then she learns Blueblood is the prosecutor who being the insufferable jerk that he is probably accepted the position of prosecutor for this trial to say screw-you to Rarity. So yeah I say Rare has every right to be angry.

This was an incredible episode, certainly worth the wait. I didn't expect it to last almost as long as part 5 of Storm! Although I do have to wonder what was up with the music at times, especially that one segment with Announce the Truth. Despite that, I loved the episode and can't wait for the next!

Phoenix’s voice acting could use some more emotions. He’s not as lively. When rarity yells, i feel like he should’ve been more unsurprised and joyful about her usual behavior in such a dire circumstance. Everyone else is trying their best to be their characters but Phoenix is just too serious and acts a bit more annoyed with everyone rather then off guard and so there’s a bit of disconnect whenever those moments happen..

Y'know, it could be just me but...some reason I like the thought of a redeemable Blueblood in MOST scenarios and fanfics but... *HE IS MAKING IT RATHER DIFFICULT IN THIS ONE!*
I loved almost everything about this, but I have to fault Phoenix's VA: I'm sorry, but some of his lines, especially when he's making a breakthrough in the courtroom, simply don't have enough punch. Most are fine, but some are lacking. As an example, some of TheGoldCrow's lines from Turnabout Storm had a much stronger delivery, as do some of the lines from Phoenix's VA in the Ace Attorney anime. More importantly, I have to question the narrative presence of Phoenix's unwilling tag-alongs. Insofar, they haven't actually had much relevance to the case - Athena's bit of knowledge about the drying time of fluorescent paint is also something Coco is likely to have known and could have been written in easily. So far, all I can see that their presence has truly impacted the plot with is Athena's forensic flashlight. I hope they have a stronger justification for their presence in the third part. As it is, you could take out everyone but Athena and the plot would stand just the same. I'd say Apollo especially needs to have some role to play, perhaps in his ability to see lies. Other than that, great job and all the best for future episodes. - On another note, I'm very much willing to bet Suri Polomare has a role in this. What other other narrative reason is there for her brief appearance in Part 1? More than that, she's already been seen in the show to both steal - and, more importantly, duplicate - Rarity's fabric and there's every chance she's in the contest... But, that seems like too obvious a conclusion to me. However, if there's only one more part to the case, it just might be so. Whether she herself was the third party or she sent someone on her behalf to avoid incrimination, however...
While they don't have much narrative reason to be around for this case, I could see Apollo and Athena being the lead on future cases in this series. I don't know anything for sure, but it's possible
I personally think that Suri isn’t the killer, but much like Gilda in the first crossover, has everything to do with stealing the fabric and framing coco. You’re right, Suri as the murderer would just be way to convenient and much to simple for an ace attorney case. I’m lookin forward to the solving of a complex case much like the last series :P
@@grosebud4721 I'm not saying you're wrong, but the first cases of Ace Attorney games (which I think this is trying to be like) are usually really straightforward and obvious. The only real exceptions that I can think of are in Apollo Justice and Investigations 2, where the culprit wasn't either blindingly obvious or revealed to the player from the start like in the others. We'll see.
Gosh this was such a fun trail to watch. The twists and turns, the moments when it seemed all over and Phoenix proving why he is called "The Turnabout Terror" also using the Spell-Breaker version of the cornered is just the chef's kiss. Golly I don't know why I stopped watching this so early? Maybe I wanted to wait for the series to cook so I could binge a bunch at once? Whatever keep up the awesome work.

The voice work and writing is so well done! @ 54:58 - Man, I really hope they'll bring up the one glaring flaw in the motive that I've seen. Oh! And they do a few seconds later. Well, Imma object anyway! Let's assume that what Blueballs is saying is correct and Coco really was after Mister Overall's designs and fabrics. Let us then ask why she would need to kill him to get them. As his apprentice and domestic partner, Miss Pommel would have unfettered access to his home and belongings. If all she wanted were his materials, she could have just stolen them without resorting to murder. Or, given that she was his _apprentice,_ she could have just taken the time to learn the techniques herself. Even taking the contest into consideration, she could have simply taken his work, done some minor alteration, and claimed it as her own. And nopony would think twice about the similarities to her mentor's work! And if this was about money: Why would she kill her highly reliable meal ticket? So I will ask you this, and it will be the last time: _WHERE IS MISS POMMEL'S SUPPOSED MOTIVE?_ @ 2:07:30 - YES! I guessed the Judge's VA correctly!!
Rainbow's trial was ruled as an accident, so there hasn't been a murder in even longer. Maybe it works differently in Equestria, but in Ace Attorney the co-council doesn't need a badge. Nice to hear Wubcake and OtisCat123 each succeeding Emogak as Twilight and Rarity respectively, and Pretty Pegasus Wings succeeding Adoxographist as Coco Pommel, especially with how she sounded closer to Cathy Weseluck's portrayal of Coco in the show whilst keeping it sounding nice and natural, and she was unrecognizable in the role too! And it's cool that DaWillstanator voiced the Judge here! I look forward to part 3!

I love how all of you and those who worked on turnabout storm managed to capture the essence of the ace Attorney games as well as merging that essence with MLP really great work.
I gotta admit, hopping onto this right off the tail of Turnabout Storm, I’m digging the current production values, and this is just the first case. Also, gotta admit I love the characterization and acting behind Blueblood. Here I thought Trixie could make me heated, and then here comes this pompous sack of glue setting me off like thermite. Really looking forward to seeing the rest and more.

This part was FANTASTIC! Reading the descriptions is so fascinating; I can definitely see how having a team of writers improved the script immensely. I'm sure that improvement will carry on through the next parts. For what it's worth, the animation is fantastic; Prince Blueblood especially looks great (and I love the idea of making HIM of all ponies the prosecutor)!
Fantastic job, everyone who worked on this! After rewatching the first episode, this one is a marked improvement, especially regarding the writing. Now I'd argue this is more well-done than the still not localized Great Ace Attorney. (God, Sherlock was insufferable in that, and not in the good way like Blueblood is here. Couldn't even bear to finish watching the let's play.) It just goes to show how teamwork pays off! You even used the soundtrack from PL vs AA, which fits the setting while also being the best in the series, IMO. I look forward to experiencing the rest of the series!

This was an exciting part to TT! Everyone did a wonderful job playing their parts in this one. Kudos to you guys and I’m really looking forward to the next part!
So here's what we know so far: (spoilers below) Overall Concepts death was around 8:30-9:00 pm. Coco and Concept were seen by Playwright leaving the dressing room on the stage left/house right and moved onto the catwalk. There was a 15 minute intermission from 8:00-8:15 where playwright and Concept were discussing matters about the fabric giving playwright a rather solid alibi. Around the time of death a loud clang was heard from the catwalk to which we currently don't have a confirmed cause. Playwright didn't immediately go up to the catwalk giving a 5 minute window for the murder to escape. The noose was part of play so there is the possibility of a improvised murder. During initial investigation, the small pile of glitter as well as a incomplete fabric roll stained with glitter we didn't see in part 1 were found. This fabric roll was not seen by Playwright during the initial chase. As for the suspected motive, it was known that Coco and Concept had entered into a domestic partnership. Cocos' living conditions were very poor. Concept had no will to leave behind meaning that due to the domestic partnership all assets would be transferred over to coco, giving the possibility of a monetarily related motive as well the fact that Coco would also given ownership of Concepts costume designs which could have been used to her advantage to gain recognition in the designer industry. Going back to the evidence, a piece of fabric that was meant to be used in another play but not any other play during the day of murder was found and had to have ended up on stage after the intermission. This gives the possibility of third party with the intention to steal the fabric being involved with the murder. It is believed that the incomplete fabric roll was planted as fake evidence by the third party. The only way the third party could have entered and escaped is by sneaking through the exit door on the stage right/house left. This was able to have been proved due to the fact that the completed fabric had obtained florescent paint which had to have been spilled during the initial chase, leaving a hoof trail. It is also possible that the cause of the clanging sound was a roll of the complete fabric that had been brought onto the stage by the third party as traces of the paint were also found in Cocos' mane. As for the trail, it was not able to have been seen during the initial investigation as the safety lights had been turned on by Coco and were left on. This evidence was only seen by the defense in part 1 due to an electrical fault with the lights. The paint was also extremely rare/one of a kind and was still wet during the play, so it is not possible to have been forged by Coco as the prosecution attempted to suggest as it would have washed out of her mane and the fabric as it was raining outside and the paint had not dried until after Coco was found on the catwalk. And this is where the trial former ends. As for a possible suspect, the only one who seems possible would be Cocos' former manager, Suri from part 1 as she is the only other character we have seen near the theater who has a relation to Coco and the only one currently without an alibi. Giving that we also saw her in part 1 for only about 10 seconds, she is too much of an elephant in the room to not be suspected. some also minor trivia details to point out: Playwrights design and vector rig has been improved, giving him more detailed hair and the appearance of being older then he looked in part 1. Blueblood sounds exactly how i'd expect. Twilight is now voiced by Wubcake. Big actress in the community. Twilight also has a improved vector rig now. Was not expecting the human judge to return. The judge is Dawillstinator/Thespio. (another big actor) I motion for Judge Willstinator to be his offical fandom name. Blueblood mentions that the trail of Rainbow Dash was articled as TS-5. This a reference to the prequel fan-series name, Turnabout Storm and how we were originally baited into a surprise 5th part of the series. In the jury/audience, you are able to see a orange re-color of Rainbow Dash. This is yet another Turnabout Storm reference to a joke character called Wobniar who was a reference to a character that impersonated Phoenix in Trials and Tribulations.
i am afraid that there is still one minuscule chance coco accidentally killed overall when trying to defend herself from Suri's attacks but i hope i'm wrong
So so very happy this came out when it did just had a stressful day at work and now I can sit down and watch ponies doing a story I really am excited for
I liked how they redubbed the flashback scenes from part 1, but I think I would have preferred they kept the original dubbing. It makes it feel more authentic, in my opinion.
Glad I finally got around to watching this. It was superb! A lot of tragedy, misdirection and turnabout in this case. Blue blood was despicable, making him the perfect opponent to push down a peg (or off a cliff) with Phoenix’s cross examinations. I hope we get to see the rest of Phoenixes crew doing their abilities soon like you showed in the trailers. And with Suri being a possible suspect makes things interesting. Though I suspect she’s not the one though... Overall a great episode to this series and I look forward to more however Long that will take!
they keep talking about how certain ponies definitely touched/used dif items like the fabric roll and rope because of glitter found on their hooves and that it proves nobody else could have done so but.... we're in a world with a ton of unicorns who can levitate things without touching them directly??? i know the defendant, witness, and victim were all earth ponies, but why doesnt anyone try to say that an unseen unicorn couldve telekinetically picked up the roll/put the noose around overall's neck/etc? idk, to me that seemed like an obvious suggestion to make, even if it were explained away by some kind of magical analysis spell that proves no unicorn magic was used on items in the crime scene (if that exists) or that the director didnt see anything illuminated by unicorn telekinesis. kept bothering me throughout the testimonies/cross-examinations (although i get that bringing all that up would add unecessary details to an already lengthy script; im def nitpicking a lot here)

1:40:38 I'm not going to lie, Blueblood's theory seems more desperate than clever. One hole in his line of logic is that in order to create the illusion of Coco Pommel framing herself would require her to hurry down the catwalk, run out the back to wash off her hooves, hurry back up the catwalk to where she was and reapply the glitter. All that within only five minutes and remember, that catwalk is incredibly rickkidy and too much movement can cause an noticable amount of noise, i.e the initial chase. Yet Playwright made no mention of any more noise coming from the catwalk after the hanging.

I think that’s the point, it shows how desperate he is and the glaring flaws are very fitting as he takes the role of Payne for this case who’s role is to serve as the tutorial boss before the main prosecutor takes over to challenge Phoenix and co.
The idea was probably for it to be a shitty theory but they definitely took the long way to disprove it yeah. It’s supposed to be a fun fan series. Any plot holes can be overlooked. Either suspend your disbelief or just fill in the holes yourself. Like maybe in Bluebloods scenario she shook herself dry like a dog and the water would’ve dried by the time anybody noticed because this exit wasn’t even a factor until Phoenix found the prints
I actually teared up a bit when I found out Overall was gonna propose to Coco. I definitely ship Overall Coco. Anyways, props to everybody that worked on this.

The line did seem a little out of character for Blueblood - considering his elitism, she is one of the four ponies in Equestria he would consider to have the right to give him orders - Twilight Sparkle, Princess of Friendship, Element of Magic outranks everyone except possibly Celestia, Luna and Cadence. It's entirely in character for her to not pull rank on him in response, but it's out of character for him to try to pull rank on her.
As somepony whose position depends entirely on his (distant) connection to royalty, and to others taking the rank of Princess seriously (in order to legitimise his own rank as Prince), he's the last pony to disrespect a Princess.
Ok so there's a few things I'd like to say after watching this portion of the Turnabout Theatre case.
*1. I am incredibly impressed with how you guys handled writing Blueblood throughout this trial.* Normally when it comes to the very first case of an Ace Attorney title (at least as far as the first four games were concerned), I'd say it might've been pushing things to the extreme to make the first Prosecutor off to be the biggest and absolute scumbag right from the get go.
BUT, Gaspen Payne exists and the first cases that involved him in both Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice were definitely taken to a whole new level that was definitely keeping folks on their toes and a lot of people could argue that guy is up there as some of the most hated Prosecutors in the series so really given that logic, it works out.
With Blueblood, it makes perfect sense to make him as irritating as possible given his pompous personality and characteristics but still, WOW you guys went all out with him. I assume he's exclusively for this case alone but if he isn't and turns out to be the main Prosecutor that gets taken on, I certainly wouldn't object to that.
*2. The animations throughout this video were absolutely well done....but they seem almost TOO good.* What I mean by this is, that everything from the ponies, to the courtroom/Defendant Lobby shown were fantastically well done, well animated and the designs were spectacular. The designers should give themselves multiple pats on the back for their hard work.
Though there was one thing that kept bothering me and this is VERY minor. Everything looked so well done that the Phoenix sprite you guys used for the trial looked incredibly out of place when around everything else. Like, you could easily see the pixelated lines around him and what not. Like, The Judge had that problem too, but it wasn't as noticeable by comparison to when I looked at Phoenix and when you look at him, and you look at all the other designs of the Prosecution, the Defendant and the Witness back to back in this trial, it's pretty easy to tell how much he sticks out by comparison.
This isn't a big deal nor is it anything bad design wise cause I can still look passed it and this isn't the fault of any of you guys, cause I'm assuming where you got it from, the original person who designed the Phoenix sprite probably had a hard time shifting it from it's original 3D model to make it more 2D like in the older AA games so it's like, with no other alternatives (Cause I don't think anyone has made any HD versions of the DD/SoJ sprite for Phoenix yet), it can't be helped, but I was wondering about your thoughts on that in particular and if you had noticed just how much Phoenix stuck out compared to most of the others in general.
*3. The VA's in general despite some of them being replacements have done remarkably well with this episode.* I especially want to personally take note of JuliusGem, AdoxographistVA and Otiscat123 in particular.
The first two's roles as Phoenix and Athena respectively have improved very well in my opinion compared to when I first heard their portrayals in part 1 of this case and as for Otiscat, I've practically fallen in love with her Rarity portrayal! She did an excellent job as her. Course I'm still trying to adapt going from Rarity's Turnabout Storm VA to this one since I thought the TS portrayal was spectacularly accurate in that project. But Otiscat definitely did very well and nailed it with said character.
So honestly if any of them somehow take the time to read what is probably a giant wall of my thoughts, I hope they continue with this project, I'd love to hear more of their lovely voices within it and they should also give themselves a pat on their backs as well.
(The other VA's not mentioned also were well done. Though I admit it did take me a bit to get used to Blueblood's voice before quickly adapting to it as the video went on and on another note, it is so awesome to see the TS VA reprise his role as the Judge again. I love em.)
Overall, those were my thoughts/feedback and Part 2 of Turnabout Theatre was very well worth the effort and time that was put into it. Good job to all of you involved and I definitely will be looking forward to the Part 3 conclusion of what is so far a very engaging first Case.
1. YES! We wanted Blueblood to be as annoying as possible, yet at the same time be an actual threat! We didn't want him to be a punching bag, which is actually one of the big problems in the original script.
2. Yeah, we know that the pixelated sprites of the AA characters can be a little jarring with the artstyle of the MLP universe. We thought about using the 3D sprite rips of DD/SoJ, but it would be even MORE jarring to have 3D rips clashing with the 2D world. in order to try to compensate this for the future, me and another member of the team are working on our own HD sprites that are in 2D, just like in the AA HD Trilogy. Though don't expect that to be done in a good while.
3. JuliusGem has listened to people's criticisms, and used it to improve his Phoenix portrayal, so I'm glad that it's paying off! And you're gonna hear more of Adox and Otiscat later on, so be excited for that!

1. That's interesting to hear. i could definitely see the cons of Blueblood basically being the Winston Payne from the get go. But like I said, it caught me off guard, but it's not unwelcoming in the slightest. Good stuff.
2. Oooo well take all the time ya'll need to work on the custom sprites. I look forward to the finished sprites when you're eventually able to get em out there and yeah I kinda figured the original 3D sprites from the last two games would definitely be more jarring to deal with (though probably also hilarious). Really you guys had to work with what ya got for this and I'm still all for it in any case regardless.

Have you considered just enlarging the AA sprites through waifu2x or another similar program? That wouldn't make them vectorized eye-candy like the rest of the art, but it would at least reduce the pixelation, which is better than nothing.
While I also agree that the sprite designs that are in this series seem a little off, I would have to say that it gives the series a unique style and has a lasting impact on our memory.
I would also like to say that I really enjoyed the pony character of Playwright. I relate so much to him and his everlasting goal of striving for perfection in the theater since I'm also a theater geek myself. And how he was willing to defend Coco when he realized he was in the wrong and wanted to make it right. Along with the fact that he also realized that by the end that one can never truly achieve pure perfection. Also, the voice actor did an excellent job portraying his character. Who ever they are I tip my fedora to you my friend.

Serenity Speedster Well for starters, you barely showed the evidence at all. I don’t recall even seeing the court record, except when the evidence was first added.
@@dannysmi7162 How would you propose we fix that issue, then? We can't just interrupt the episode every 30 minutes or so to review the court record. And while we will be adding a court record to the description for future cases, since it's not a part of the video, I can imagine some people not even looking at it. The only other possible solution I can think of is to bring the court record up when Phoenix needs to present evidence, and have it operate as a selection screen, where we animate a cursor going across the evidence to pick the right one, but that seems really out-of-place with the style both TS and this series have established, not to mention the fact that it won't include evidence and testimony that's only discussed, and not actually added to the CR.

I went in with high expectations after the promising update videos, but part 2 still managed to completely blow my mind. The animation work was brilliant, the writing was excellent, and the voice acting was absolutely magnificent. Part 1 was already fantastic, but this was a step up in quality I didn't even know was possible! Well done, guys. Well done.

Well, this was definitely worth the wait.
The fact that this is only the first case in a multi-case series, and it's gotten this emotional (that revelation between Overall and Coco in particular hit me in the feels pretty hard), is nuts to me and I'm already extremely excited to see what else happens after this trial is done with. (Also, my theory about Suri being the real culprit still seems to be pretty accurate, minus how she knew about the fabric, anyway.)
As for any feedback, while most of my positives with the first episode stand (if not moreso here), I.e. the overall presentation (art, character models/animation, voice acting (Blueblood's VA in particular sounded perfect for him, and it's awesome to hear DaWillstanator as the Judge and Wubcake as Twilight)), I still think Phoenix's VA (while probably a bit better than the first part) still needs a bit of work. IDK, I think just the overall emotional range isn't quite there yet like his VA in Turnabout Storm; he's got the serious stuff down pretty nicely, but the rest could be improved through better direction.
Other than that, and a few visual hiccups here and there, keep up the great work, and I eagerly await to see the next part, and the rest of this series unfold. 👍

Blueblood the highest form of society that cannot accept failure. And the way he prosecuted this trail made me very happy with how the staff wrote him.
That comeback after the paint being presented was the the biggest hail mary from a desperate pony.
That scene Update 11 showed, combined with this image, I can already call the pre-trial scene: Rarity furious at Blueblood for prosecuting against Coco. 😆
Cons: it's so jarring to see the obvious style differences between ace attorney and mlp. With how fluid the ponies are, yet rough the humans look.
A bit of too much "fluff" in my opinion.
Some questionable dialog moments (one of cocos crying was put in really..badly.)
Pros: the story is amazing. And I can feel the sorrow in coco.
Twilight showing how she's matured by being more quiet and letting pheonix run the show.
Small tidbits like extra moving when not needed adds flair.

HOLY, it's insane to see how much just about each department was improved on from the first episode already!
Visuals: All great overall, i loved the amount of expressions Blueblood had and while Phoenix court sprites aren't perfect they still capture his spirit of the 3D games very well.
Introduced Characters: Speaking of Blueblood, i was expecting some pushover for the first case as Payne usually is but we actually got someone legit threatening and downright creepy in some sprites, i was very happy how he turned out by hating what an annoyance he is and don't want anything more than to Phoenix and Twi to shut him down. The Judge making his debut was great as well, mainly because he always makes the trials a blast with his usual antics.
Voices: Absolute Fantastic! All the ones reprising their roles did amazing and i cant wait for them to get their own time to shine later on, mainly Apollo or Athena.
DaWillstanator as the Judge was amazing, reminded me a lot of the turnabout storm one in all the good ways. Wubcake as Twilight was super fun to listen to and is a great fit for the role. Same for PrettyPegasusWings as the new Coco Pommel, who did a lovely job. TheNightStar as Blueblood was especially great, did an overall awesome job selling me on his entire character.
Writing: Needless to say that the first episode was rough around the edges but that makes it so much more satisfying seeing it come together this well for the second one.
Characters reacted and spoke how i felt they would and the entire trial just had me at the edge for the majority of its run time so major props to the writing team!
Overall I'm blown away by the second episode, i loved about all of it and i can't wait to see how better it will get as the cases progress as i only see things improving even further from here and thanks to everyone that helped make this one so awesome!

Even his "Objection!" has that elitist, pompous tone that makes ya wanna go Franziska Von Karma on his sorry flank. Major props to TheNightStar for his great portrayal of Blueblood's character.

Phoenix’s voice acting could use some more emotions. He’s not as lively. When rarity yells, i feel like he should’ve been more unsurprised and joyful about her usual behavior in such a dire circumstance. Everyone else is trying their best to be their characters but Phoenix is just too serious and acts a bit more annoyed with everyone rather then off guard and so there’s a bit of disconnect whenever those moments happen..
Looking forward to this for my own reasons as well. :3 Just a really big fan of Turnabout Storm.

Y'know, it could be just me but...some reason I like the thought of a redeemable Blueblood in MOST scenarios and fanfics but...
*HE IS MAKING IT RATHER DIFFICULT IN THIS ONE!*
I loved almost everything about this, but I have to fault Phoenix's VA: I'm sorry, but some of his lines, especially when he's making a breakthrough in the courtroom, simply don't have enough punch. Most are fine, but some are lacking. As an example, some of TheGoldCrow's lines from Turnabout Storm had a much stronger delivery, as do some of the lines from Phoenix's VA in the Ace Attorney anime.
More importantly, I have to question the narrative presence of Phoenix's unwilling tag-alongs. Insofar, they haven't actually had much relevance to the case - Athena's bit of knowledge about the drying time of fluorescent paint is also something Coco is likely to have known and could have been written in easily. So far, all I can see that their presence has truly impacted the plot with is Athena's forensic flashlight. I hope they have a stronger justification for their presence in the third part. As it is, you could take out everyone but Athena and the plot would stand just the same. I'd say Apollo especially needs to have some role to play, perhaps in his ability to see lies.
Other than that, great job and all the best for future episodes.

On another note, I'm very much willing to bet Suri Polomare has a role in this. What other other narrative reason is there for her brief appearance in Part 1? More than that, she's already been seen in the show to both steal - and, more importantly, duplicate - Rarity's fabric and there's every chance she's in the contest... But, that seems like too obvious a conclusion to me. However, if there's only one more part to the case, it just might be so. Whether she herself was the third party or she sent someone on her behalf to avoid incrimination, however...

I personally think that Suri isn’t the killer, but much like Gilda in the first crossover, has everything to do with stealing the fabric and framing coco. You’re right, Suri as the murderer would just be way to convenient and much to simple for an ace attorney case. I’m lookin forward to the solving of a complex case much like the last series :P
@@grosebud4721 I'm not saying you're wrong, but the first cases of Ace Attorney games (which I think this is trying to be like) are usually really straightforward and obvious. The only real exceptions that I can think of are in Apollo Justice and Investigations 2, where the culprit wasn't either blindingly obvious or revealed to the player from the start like in the others.

This part was FANTASTIC! Reading the descriptions is so fascinating; I can definitely see how having a team of writers improved the script immensely. I'm sure that improvement will carry on through the next parts. For what it's worth, the animation is fantastic; Prince Blueblood especially looks great (and I love the idea of making HIM of all ponies the prosecutor)!
Fantastic job, everyone who worked on this! After rewatching the first episode, this one is a marked improvement, especially regarding the writing. Now I'd argue this is more well-done than the still not localized Great Ace Attorney. (God, Sherlock was insufferable in that, and not in the good way like Blueblood is here. Couldn't even bear to finish watching the let's play.) It just goes to show how teamwork pays off! You even used the soundtrack from PL vs AA, which fits the setting while also being the best in the series, IMO. I look forward to experiencing the rest of the series!

This was an exciting part to TT! Everyone did a wonderful job playing their parts in this one. Kudos to you guys and I’m really looking forward to the next part!

So here's what we know so far: (spoilers below)
Overall Concepts death was around 8:30-9:00 pm. Coco and Concept were seen by Playwright leaving the dressing room on the stage left/house right and moved onto the catwalk. There was a 15 minute intermission from 8:00-8:15 where playwright and Concept were discussing matters about the fabric giving playwright a rather solid alibi. Around the time of death a loud clang was heard from the catwalk to which we currently don't have a confirmed cause. Playwright didn't immediately go up to the catwalk giving a 5 minute window for the murder to escape. The noose was part of play so there is the possibility of a improvised murder. During initial investigation, the small pile of glitter as well as a incomplete fabric roll stained with glitter we didn't see in part 1 were found. This fabric roll was not seen by Playwright during the initial chase. As for the suspected motive, it was known that Coco and Concept had entered into a domestic partnership. Cocos' living conditions were very poor. Concept had no will to leave behind meaning that due to the domestic partnership all assets would be transferred over to coco, giving the possibility of a monetarily related motive as well the fact that Coco would also given ownership of Concepts costume designs which could have been used to her advantage to gain recognition in the designer industry. Going back to the evidence, a piece of fabric that was meant to be used in another play but not any other play during the day of murder was found and had to have ended up on stage after the intermission. This gives the possibility of third party with the intention to steal the fabric being involved with the murder. It is believed that the incomplete fabric roll was planted as fake evidence by the third party. The only way the third party could have entered and escaped is by sneaking through the exit door on the stage right/house left. This was able to have been proved due to the fact that the completed fabric had obtained florescent paint which had to have been spilled during the initial chase, leaving a hoof trail. It is also possible that the cause of the clanging sound was a roll of the complete fabric that had been brought onto the stage by the third party as traces of the paint were also found in Cocos' mane. As for the trail, it was not able to have been seen during the initial investigation as the safety lights had been turned on by Coco and were left on. This evidence was only seen by the defense in part 1 due to an electrical fault with the lights. The paint was also extremely rare/one of a kind and was still wet during the play, so it is not possible to have been forged by Coco as the prosecution attempted to suggest as it would have washed out of her mane and the fabric as it was raining outside and the paint had not dried until after Coco was found on the catwalk. And this is where the trial former ends. As for a possible suspect, the only one who seems possible would be Cocos' former manager, Suri from part 1 as she is the only other character we have seen near the theater who has a relation to Coco and the only one currently without an alibi. Giving that we also saw her in part 1 for only about 10 seconds, she is too much of an elephant in the room to not be suspected.

Playwrights design and vector rig has been improved, giving him more detailed hair and the appearance of being older then he looked in part 1.
Blueblood sounds exactly how i'd expect.
Twilight is now voiced by Wubcake. Big actress in the community.
Twilight also has a improved vector rig now.
Was not expecting the human judge to return.
The judge is Dawillstinator/Thespio. (another big actor) I motion for Judge Willstinator to be his offical fandom name.
Blueblood mentions that the trail of Rainbow Dash was articled as TS-5. This a reference to the prequel fan-series name, Turnabout Storm and how we were originally baited into a surprise 5th part of the series.
In the jury/audience, you are able to see a orange re-color of Rainbow Dash. This is yet another Turnabout Storm reference to a joke character called Wobniar who was a reference to a character that impersonated Phoenix in Trials and Tribulations.
I really like the voices of Blueblood, Coco, Rarity, Phoenix, the judge, and Twilight. Coco's actress especially just knocked it out of the park.
i am afraid that there is still one minuscule chance coco accidentally killed overall when trying to defend herself from Suri's attacks but i hope i'm wrong

So so very happy this came out when it did just had a stressful day at work and now I can sit down and watch ponies doing a story I really am excited for
I liked how they redubbed the flashback scenes from part 1, but I think I would have preferred they kept the original dubbing. It makes it feel more authentic, in my opinion.
Glad I finally got around to watching this. It was superb!
A lot of tragedy, misdirection and turnabout in this case. Blue blood was despicable, making him the perfect opponent to push down a peg (or off a cliff) with Phoenix’s cross examinations. I hope we get to see the rest of Phoenixes crew doing their abilities soon like you showed in the trailers. And with Suri being a possible suspect makes things interesting. Though I suspect she’s not the one though...
Overall a great episode to this series and I look forward to more however Long that will take!

they keep talking about how certain ponies definitely touched/used dif items like the fabric roll and rope because of glitter found on their hooves and that it proves nobody else could have done so but.... we're in a world with a ton of unicorns who can levitate things without touching them directly??? i know the defendant, witness, and victim were all earth ponies, but why doesnt anyone try to say that an unseen unicorn couldve telekinetically picked up the roll/put the noose around overall's neck/etc? idk, to me that seemed like an obvious suggestion to make, even if it were explained away by some kind of magical analysis spell that proves no unicorn magic was used on items in the crime scene (if that exists) or that the director didnt see anything illuminated by unicorn telekinesis. kept bothering me throughout the testimonies/cross-examinations (although i get that bringing all that up would add unecessary details to an already lengthy script; im def nitpicking a lot here)
