Honestly the end result of the cut is beautiful but the products used made the hair look stringy and crunchy. A lot of us wavy girls want a soft shiney look to our hair! 🥰 would love to see you do something like that instead of this gel.
Not to judge meanly, because I understand everyone has different hair and preferences unique to themselves... but as someone with curly/wavy 2b/2c hair, I CANT stand it when hairstylists scrunch curls aggressively and use heavy gel. It just ends up making my hair look like a rats nest. I’m tired of hair stylists not understanding how to really style waves or curls that are fine-textured. Personally, my hair likes gentle clumping and volume around the crown. It allows my curls to really form without frizz and prevents my style from looking triangular or disarrayed. (Just my two cents that no one asked for lol)
omg how do you style your wavy fine hair?? my hair is 2a-2c i used the gel method for years but its always so frizzy and heavy that the curls/waves lose its shape 😕
Amen
I strongly agree
So true.
@@blythe2872 gel products not for us ( fine wavy/ curly hair) I just use light leave in ( Shea moisture coconut oil) the bottle look like sprayer then I put mousse or oatmeal gel( diy)made it by me it’s very lightweight and watery
I just cut my long light wavy hair using this tutorial. It is amazing! Very easy, I did it completely by myself, using a little mirror to check if sections are straight on the back of my head.
My haircut looks well balanced, very light, beautiful volume, and the initial hair length is preserved on the back!
The best haircut I have ever had!
P.s. one thing I invested money in - new sharp professional scissors.
Thank you, master ! 🙏
How does your hair look if it were to be parted in the middle though?
@@joss5793 yeahh, I wanna know too! Please respond ^^ lol

I'll chime in. I just did this cut yesterday and it came out brilliantly. I just tried parting my hair down the middle, and to answer your question, I think it still looks good and balanced. Waves/curls can also be pretty forgiving with haircuts not being so precise. But yes, it still looks good.
Thank you! I did this on myself twice now and it looks great. I have fine wavy/ curly hair and this cut works on my hair since I can’t get to a salon due to covid right now. I may continue doing this and just get a professional cut every once in a while to clean everything up. Thanks again! Truly appreciate it!
Omg! I’m not a stylist, or cosmologists, but I did exactly what you said and my long, coarse, semi curly hair looks soooo much better! Thank you so much. I appreciate you! 🥰
Love this tutorial, very easy to follow, pretty hard to mess up. I was looking to freshen up my hair and since there aren't a whole lot of curl specialists near me I decided to go at it myself and im so happy I did! This is one of the most suiting cuts I've ever had for my lower density 2c curls ❤
This is exactly what i have been looking for. I cannot wait to try this cut. Thank you for the tutorial!
Thanks! Always had problems with hairdressers as they don’t know how to cut thick wavy hair like mine. So usually I have to fix it at home. 😄 ps that cut balanced the thickness on both sides. 👏
Cut my wife’s hair with this guide and she loves it :) Her waves are insane now
Lol. I’m trying to get my husband’s help.
😂
Love it Matt ! It's beautiful ! Thank you
Thank you for your precious tutorial, I am a student of level 2 hairdressing and studies with you makes my life easier ❤❤❤
I have fine 2c-3a curls that are very prone to frizz. I did this cut on myself this morning and it's I think the best cut I've ever had. I have a pretty shallow side part where I have a natural cowlick, so my "weak" side ended up being a bit flat compared to the "strong" side - I had to go back in and adjust the layers a bit on that side. Next time I might do both sides more similar to how the "strong" side is done, since my part is so close to center anyway. I did the whole cut dry, and did a couple of touch up snips after washing it to keep a few curl patterns together where they wanted to lay. So so pleased.
Ooo good to know. I have a close to center part as well, thanks!
That looks fabulous. Perfect for my wavy hair. 🥰
Just in time this video came out. My sister wanted me to cut her hair that's kind of wavy.👍🏻 Thanks and let's be safe. Be safe😉👌🏻
Love this short and quick easy vid!
Love the haircut! You are very talented!
That's a beautiful cut and with cut that nice the style is easy.
This worked really well. My under/bottom layer is still laying a bit heavy, but this was great for the layers.
Goosh this!!!! I miss my hair being cut like this. My hairdresser is soooooo far away now. No one had cut my hair like he did 😭 yes this is how it should.be done
Always helpful and lovely 😊
Wow the Haircut Awesome ! Thanks you to shared !
Tried yesterday..best haircut I ever had 😍
You are amazing thank you for showing how you do
Thank you love your work.
I know I'm watching this a year after but, I'm having trouble seeing how you decided how much to cut on the heavy side, or where the guide came from for that side. Great video tho, I love your tutorials, they have been helping me sooo much as a new stylist ❤👏🌻
Wow 😯 Awesome 👏 Great job 👍
Thank you for sharing!
Wow fabilus awesome graet work thanks for shering
Love it ❤
Very good.Thank you .
It's very much an 80s throwback
Thank you so much sir very nice haircut
Awesome video!
Great work
I absolutely love it! Wish you could do MY hair!
Thank you for sharing this! 🙏🏻 I’m a new hairstylist apprentice and this is just what I needed to see for my daughters wavy hair that I cut the other day. I hope she will sit still again for me to fix it up a bit after watching this! I’m absolutely loving all of your tutorials!! 🙏🏻🥰 so grateful!
Luv it.
I need this cut!!!
I love it
I really loved my long, wavy hair but I had to cut it because of all the knots I was getting. I have bad dandruff so I’m too embarrassed to go to a hairdresser, so this video really helped me, thank you!
I’ve used a diluted vinegar rinse to eliminate dandruff. You may need to do it a few times a week at first. Then taper off. Twice a month. Once a month. For a few months. Then every few months. Then once a year. Works for me.
Love it
i tend to have more hair on teh side than at the back and underneath? how would i compensate fro that
THANK YOU...
Amazing👍
Would this also work for curly hair? Mine is curlier in front has a looser curl/wave in the back
Me encanta muy bonito, hermoso medium curly haircut👍👏👏👏
How do I know where I have to cut in the heavy side?
Great video
QUESTION, When you started to cut the opposite side at 1:42 how do you know how much to cut if there isn’t a guide? Or did you make a guide that is even to the first cutting you did? I don’t know how to word this, I have not watched the whole video yet but, I thought I’d ask before I forgot!!!!
The styling looks kinda tangled :( I’m sure it’s a good cut but this doesn’t have great styling..
I thought it was just me! So many comments saying it looks great and I’m like I can achieve that just by waking up in the morning! That looked messy as hell!
@@meralali9487 some people like a bit of a messy look to their curls! I personally would have added some kind of conditioner or mousse or something, but to each their own!
Nice cut
For a middle part, would you just cut like the short side?
how would i cut my own hair? can i follow the same method
Great!
تمام 👌 🤗 👍تسلم ايديك 👍
Male with looong hair, Jesus look. Needed a cut. I watched this video once and had my hair cut in under 30 minutes with some patience. Hair looks amazing. Great tutorial.
AWESOME T.Y. 👍
#freesaloneducation how did you determine your lengths from light side to heavy side? (before you cut the top). Light side you kept low, heavy side you elevated, but how did you determine the lengths so they were balanced? Didn't catch that. @freesaloneducation
I wondered that too!
Does anyone know where he works? I want him to do my hair! 🥰
Thant great👍👍
How do you know how much to cut on that heavy side ? You didn’t have a guide line so how can I get the right amount to cut without going back and forth trying to match the other side
Lol I know why you asked, because I had to rewind myself! He’s so good he barely had his guide piece in his hand I mean it was a WHISP of hair, but watch until you catch it. I wish you success. ❤️
Linda Buck thank you I’m going to watch again ... I always get confused when someone has a really deep part . I guess you really have to take each area of the hair and head into consideration...
Genial 👏👏👏👏👏👏
I cut my sisters hair ... N that was soo cooooll...
What size scissors are being used? 🙏
Tengo el cabello ondulado tipo 2B-2C y tengo 15 años no soy tan experta pero soy buena siguiendo tutoriales
OMG! I wish you were in my area. I'm having the worst time finding a stylist that can cut my wavy/curly hair.
How to colour grey hairs
what if I have a middle part?
Как всегда 👍😍
How to colour grey hairs permanently plz teach me
Will this cut/strategy work for hair that’s normally worn center-parted?
Yes I did it you’ll just want to do it evenly on both sides id do it by doing both sides like the second heavier part he cut
No muestras el trabajo en la parte trasera
No layers in the back??
Nice overall, but that finished look..😬😬
❤️❤️❤️
So did you do it on purpose to create two different lengths in the front, before you connected them? I missed layers in the back, I really did 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
He did say it was on purpose.
What cream gel did you use?
👏🏻💪🏼
Ok, gonna try this on my wife. Hope it goes well 🙏 🤷♂️
Is it just me or should you not cut wavy hair wet and pulled straight initially?
It depends on the amount of wave in the hair. If they have really tight waves that start at the root, probably not, but for gentle waves, with a flat root, a wet cut is usually fine.
Done 👉🏻👍🏻🌹
Is this for professionals? Too fast for me! I love it though! Can I cut my own hair this way? I mean, is it wise to attempt this? Lol Does it have to worn on the side? And can this be done on longer hair?
You could slow down the playback speed.
Gina I will most definitely have to do that...more than once! 😂 I wish he could cut my hair.
Susan Chavez did you cut it yourself? If yes how did it go? I use my hair in the middle so i am not sure to cut it this way myself 😖
I just cut my hair with this tutorial - amazing result. Read my comment in the main comments section
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Me about to cut my hair in my bathroom 👁👄👁
How did it go?!
Well one side layers came out significantly shorter than the other but my hair is somewhat wavy and I’m not super particular so I never fixed it, about ready to cut it again by now 😂
I wonder how it looks when one of these heavy parts fall to the other side. They will probable hang over the other layers.
The end result is lovely, but it doesn't allow for a lot of creativity in styling.
Medusa
👍🌷❤️
I wonder if my stylist would get insulted if I asked her to watch and try this.
We can only try
I think it's all in the way you ask lol
I'm constantly watching new technique videos and even though I'm newer I know I'll never stop watching videos, taking classes and learning new things bc I'm passionate about what I do and want to keep it that way! If you ask her if she's seen any of his videos then tell her you saw this one video and loved the cut I think she would be receptive to it 😊
It looks scraggy
All this videos are about cutting straight hair no close to waivy or curly.
Cutting head is not curly
Great haircut but dear God your styling needs help
I advice you not to try it....it fucked my hair up...now I look like a guy from 70's
I don’t like the result. It looks like a rats nest.
Omg! I’m not a stylist, or cosmologists, but I did exactly what you said and my long, coarse, semi curly hair looks soooo much better! Thank you so much. I appreciate you! 🥰
