That's a scoot I've done jogging everyday between 1995-2007 when I lived at 19th and Callowhill. BTW, it's JOHN Kelly, former councilman (and brother of Grace) who is the reason they changed the name of East River Drive (a great Grover Washington song). John dropped dead on a jog at 17th and Callowhill, two blocks from my house.
I now live near the site of another PhillyCaptain video, Alburger and Verree Roads. I was tired of my car getting broken into at 19th and Callowhill, sold that house, and bought about two blocks away from Alburger and Verree. Probably pretty close to John's parents.
There was a guy walking around Riverside, NJ with a speaker around his neck at the highest level. Beautiful shots of the city! Love your videos.

I live near to the original Washington here in England where George Washingtons ancestors lived in Washington Old Hall which still stands today also not far away from Washington is Philadelphia which post dates its name sake in the USA. The Franklin Institute is really cool. It has been too many years since my last visit. I remember the giant Foucault Pendulum that would knock over the pegs as time went by. Stay in the museum for enough hours and see how many pegs got knocked over.

The Boyd was one of coolest abandonments to visit…shame what they did to it.
Captain I was there Sly did it the first time .I was one of the kids who ran up the steps in Rocky 2. The church to the left of the museum was my church it's Saint Frances Xavier the convent was just across from the church buy it was sold years ago to build the houses you see.
It was Hurricane Ida, I believe. Hurricane Irene was in 2011.
the statue of "eric the red" was not just removed by the city, it was knocked over and into the river in the middle of the night. they had to get it out of the river with scuba divers and a crane, and then they didnt put it back up. its in city storage somewhere. there are news stories about it if you google it, it was pretty recent
Throughout the decades somethings don't seem to change. Chestnut St. looks empty, except for people who look like visitors, while south of there, the streets are crowded with natives.
