Honestly u could tell the New Zealand team was just happy to be there and I love that, they know there not anywhere near as good as USA so they were just having some fun, and I agree USA played fairly and the coach can’t do anything, what is he going to say to them” tell the other team to throw strikes” he can’t do that so I think USA played fairly and New Zealand was just trying to have fun
I totally agree with you!
These kids have WAY more class then most the HS kids I see these days. They be show boating in ways I didn’t know were even possible in baseball. HATE to be the “back in my day” but that was the part of the game I loved so much was the unspoken respect we showed our opponents and our teammates. These kids represented very well💯
I just got home from playing in Cooperstown. Sometimes there are lopsided matches. You have to play your best game. You can still beat a team by 42 runs and still show class. The players were being respectful of each other. The high fives and the sportsmanship shown was great. I hope both teams were able to go grab a bite together after the game. This is a great opportunity for them to find a way to compete and be friends, learn from the game, and be humble.
I agree. I thought it was very classy.
They were fair about it you gotta under stand for the team usa players that this is an amazing platform to show class there talents for scouts i like that they werent showboating
They were just happy to be playing the game
Thank you for showing this!!! To many people throwing shade with the facts.
Thanks douglas!
You have very high-level 12 year olds playing on 220' fences (I looked it up - WBSC rules are 220 left and right and 270 dead center) with 1.15 BPF bats (in other words, USSSA bats - looked that up too). While 270 is a big distance for any 12 year old, 220 and those bats make for a very home run friendly environment. While it's international competition, I find it interesting that USA Baseball does not use USA Baseball-stamped bats, which are far more dead than USSSA's. (Mound/base paths are 51/75 for 12u in case anyone is wondering.)
This is great insight. I always knew the USSSA bats were juiced, in modern times.
just happened to catch this youtube stream as I am from New Zealand where this is a growing sport where 1/1000 kids may know it exists here-- good sportmanship to congratulate someone hitting a homerun nothing else you can do ( would you prefer as supporters the batter haggling the opponents as they run around the base..commentors). MLB players talk and joke with their opponents all the time
Yeah for sure. Thanks for the comment!
Nothing wrong!! At all!! Go USA!!
Thanks Jarhead for the comment!
Go USA USA USA USA 💪
Love it! Thanks for comment Chad
I think USA handled it well but in our tournaments they only allow a team to score 6 runs a inning and then they switch to fielding btw love your videos
Sometimes the kids learn more from loosing. It an international tournament and obviously they didn’t have run rules. Sometimes run diff can play a role in the next rounds or games, so stopping from scoring runs isn’t always a great idea.
Plus is one team supposed to tell their kids to stop trying, to stop preforming, because of the other teams feelings???
No, New Z will have to teach their kids to play better. Their sportsmanship was great, but perhaps more training and more selectiveness in the team building process for the coaches.
Agree. There's definitely learning lessons in all of this.
People gonna be mad at winners let em hate
I agree. Thanks for the comment Neg!
score more next time
Yeah, it’s honestly not that deep. If they were playing rugby, our NZ boys would demolish the USA. Countries should be good at their national sport.
I hear ya. You make some good points.
How old is #30???! He looks like cecil fielder already damn 😅😂
haha
Checking his stats, the kid (Leyland Henry) is 5-11, 230 lbs. For comparison, Cecil Fielder is 6-3, 230.
@@zanti4132 sheesh , he can easily reach 6’2 with one more growth spurt
The only thing absurd is the New Zealand Haka battle cry. How you gonna do that BS and lose 41 - 1? 😂🤣
It’s not there fault that there good
USA made there plays new Zeldand didn’t, usa hit the ball new zeland didn’t. They all played the game completely fair.
Agreed! Thanks for comment Kellan
No. If they don't have a mercy rule. Why would they? Shaking hands are just being respectful
👍
They would stay nothing if Mexico or Japan did this. People are always looking for something to complain about.
haha I agree.
@@JermaineCurtis55 This is why I don't knock the women teams in soccer the last four years ago blew a team out by 13 goals.
I agree.. No class. Bunt, play small ball to get it over with. Let them get you out at first. Smh. Our tball team does that when we're beating the crap out of teams.
43 is too much. It's not competitive anymore and just flexing
it's not flexing if the umpires don't stop the game
43 is a lot but, they had to continue until the 4th inning.
Bro. It’s the USA team. you know a lot of players were trying out for this team. So even if the starters get benched. The bench is going to be close to as dominate as the starters are.
Tbh I’m not a fan of slapping hands when the other team is hitting home runs on you. This is 12U. At the highest level. There in middle school were winning is the priority. That’s why we shake hands after the game. That’s the time to show your respect and sportsmanship to your opponent. While playing the game be respectful but yet competitive with a winning mindset. Not this loser stuff.
They have a good team. Agreed! Thanks for the comment Shaggy
Everyone and their poor feelings. Cry me a river.
