They reclass. If you do home schooling and don't finish the program until summer or simply take a year off of school you can actually play down and that's what most of these kids do. They aren't true 12u age.
The 10-13 age is dominated by size. Between the parents reclassifying kids and using illegally rolled bats it's hard to deal with. Some of the 14 year old kids still try to roll the BBCORE or we'll just use a bat that has been banned. But at 15 you're only playing with wood In high schools are pretty good about catching illegal bats.
I remember 12u well. My son is now 15 and those ZT kids we played in FL, GA, TX haven’t grown. You’ll meet kids at 14-15u you’ve never heard of throwing gas and hitting bombs. These kids were blessed with size and coordination at a young age but the other kids will catch up. Also, bbcor changes everything. If you have a hitch or your mechanics are not on point, you’re not hitting.
Story of my life, I’m only 5’6” rn and both my parents are over 5’10” can’t wait til I hit puberty and pass all the early bloomers. Just as good now can’t wait til I’m huge and strong
@@sirloin0650 Just be patient and enjoy the game. A lot of these PG Select Fest kids at 12-13 can’t transition to bbcor. The bat is too heavy and they can’t hit. Plus the game speeds up with velo. You’ll see kids throwing 80+ at 14u and these skinny kids can’t swing the bbcor bats. We had a kid on my sons travel team who was Team USA, pg select, all kinds of accolades as a 12-13 yr old and the kid bats 9th and he’s an error machine because the balls are ripped at him at SS.
