I’m about 30% into “The Starless Sea” and it’s one of the greatest books I think I’ve ever had the privilege of reading. I hope you love it too! Lots of beautiful imagery and it makes you feel the magic. Lots of love -J
After Dark was one of my favorite books for like 8 years. lol. Its what turned me onto Murakami's work. Its a very dreamy book... but I remember finishing and being like...."I really loved that, but I don't know why........" So with that said... don't have insanely high expectations, just be open to it.
I fell in love with “The Night Circus” 🎪 and read “The Starless Sea” thanks to you! These are now 2 of my all time favorite books!! Thank you for that! 💜 SO GLAD TO SEE YOU BACK!! You were truly missed my dear!
You’re back!! We’ve missed you! I’ve just finished reading the Night Circus because of you and it is literally the most beautiful thing I’ve ever read. Thank you for loving it!
Sade pearce The series is called The Cemetery of Forgotten Books by a Spanish author called Carlos Ruiz Zafon. The Shadow of the Wind is the first book, and is about a father and son who owns a second-hand bookstore in Barcelona. Daniel, the son, was taken by his father to a super secret library where the boy can “adopt” a book and protect it for life. The boy, then, went on a quest to find more books by the same author, and thus became involved in tracing the history of the said author.
Mental health is a tough thing to deal with, especially during the winter, so never feel bad for taking some well-deserved self-care. I'm so glad to hear you're coming out of your reading slump since I've been struggling with one to, and you always inspire me to read again. Also, so glad for the Truly Devious shout out. You are my favorite book tube vlogger. Your taste in books is so similar to what I like. Thank you for making videos! Sometimes I get stuck and I just don’t know what to read, but I have a huge craving for books, and your videos have helped me so much.
I watched a film recently that, interestingly enough, roused a deep passion within me to pursue literature. My curiosity took me to UA-cam and I found your channel within about an hour of perusing BookTube. Hannah, I instantly fell in love with not only your channel, but your calm (and lovely) demeanor. Your adoration of storytelling through literature inspires me so much! Your insights are such a gift, and I am so happy to have you back. Sending so much love to you!
yvonne's tea This is quite ironic given that Hannah dislikes this book very much, but the film Call Me By Your Name. It roused such inspiration within me because it was so beautifully done in every capacity. I was so excited to know that it was an adaptation from the book. Getting lost in the story of CMBYN urged me to get lost in other stories as well!
So glad you're back! I love your videos! I'm Chilean, so in school we actually read several books by Isabel Allende, and my favorite by far is "The House of the Spirits" o "La Casa de los Espíritus". It is such a beautiful and special novel, I'm sure you're going to love it. Also, I really recommend to you the works of Gabriel García Márquez, especially "One Hundred Years of Solitude" and "Chronicle of a Death Foretold", they are so amazing and unique stories.

Hannah you have NO IDEA how excited I am as a Persian to watch your videos and try and find the books here in Iran. you literally inspired me to become a bookstagrammer like 3 years ago. btw I literally screamed the first time I found out you were Persian!
Murakami is amazing! I would definitely suggest starting with Norwegian Wood, such a brilliant book and I think it is a great place for someone who is new to Murakami to start :)

Hannah - I’m so glad you’re back and hope you’re well! When I saw your face pop up in my feed I got so excited - I get many of my favorite reads from your recommendations!
It's been almost a month and I'm still halfway through it lol it's not like I don't like it, I'm absolutely loving it but there's something that keeping me from finishing the book idk why lol I finished more than 3 fat books since I started reading it.
I abslutely LOVE how excited and passionated you get when you talk about books and how much they mean to you! Love you, thank you for your inspiration!
For 2020 the one thing I have to hold up and praise is Miracle Maiden (horror/adventure). It follows the story of a young girl named Kea and starts up with her being kidnapped by a group led by a noble woman named Miyune Leestel. Miyune takes her under like a daughter, and ere kicks off one of the most unique stories I’ve ever seen. Shouts to the dark presence haunting kea, it’s soooo unsettling. “A familiar presence made itself known, and a shiver ran down my spine. Something started to tug at my soul, something sinister. An air of malice went around my neck like a noose.” Love that line. Chapter 19 is mad crazy, horror at its finest.
How the hell did i not see this video the second it was posted , i'm not kidding i was like almost crying seeing this video because you were my key to the booktube world and we missed you much hannah hope you got the break you needed and may you bring more content to us❤❤❤❤❤(i melt)
OMG!! When I heard you say that you wanted to you read Murakami I had to stop the video for a moment a process all my emotions - Murakami is my favorite author EVER I am so exited for you to get to know him. I think you should start with Nowegian Wood, is not that big as other of his books, but also I absolutely LOVE The wind-up bird chronicle
I love her enthusiasm so much! I found this video by just typing 'book reviews' and this was the first suggestion :D I am not disappointed at all! I known none of the books mentioned but her happiness is so nice to see! Also, all the books have such beautiful covers!
I just finished Station 11 as the rise of coronavirus news took flight... what an interesting time to read that book, but I loved it and can’t wait for the glass hotel!
I just started watching your videos but there's something about your voice that makes me want to conpletely binge your entire channel. I used to be such an avid reader and could easily read 100 books in a year but life has taken over with a full time job and two children. My goodreads 2020 book challenge goal is only 30 books and I'm not even sure if I'll hit that. I hope so though. I just added some of these books to my 2020 TBR

I am so happy that there’s an Isabel Allende book in this list! My mom used to read a lot of her books. I’m latin myself and I love that there’s a book by her in your list!! 🥰

Circe was incredible! It took me through so many emotions, that’s how you know it was good! If you liked that you should read Stephen Fry’s books, ‘Heroes’ and ‘Mythos’
Hannah, it's so wonderful to see you upload again! (Although please don't pressure yourself, your health is the most important thing) You and your videos have been such a great part of my life (which sounds odd but it's true!) You are literally the reason I started reading again, and I found my favourite book ever through your channel, so thank you!
Little did she know how much reading time she would have in 2020
Hannah - I’m so glad you’re back and hope you’re well! When I saw your face pop up in my feed I got so excited - I get many of my favorite reads from your recommendations!
If you really want classic magical realism read “One hundred years of solitude” by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Best book ever
It took me 3 months to finish to finish it . It was really hard to read but worth the effort
You need a non spoiler family tree! So many people, so little variation of names 😂
It's been almost a month and I'm still halfway through it lol it's not like I don't like it, I'm absolutely loving it but there's something that keeping me from finishing the book idk why lol I finished more than 3 fat books since I started reading it.
nezukos bamboo nuzzle well I do think it takes more time than other books. It took me like 3 months to read but it was worth it

Glad to see you back, nice to have a change here and there
For 2020 the one thing I have to hold up and praise is Miracle Maiden (horror/adventure).
An air of malice went around my neck like a noose.”
Love that line.
“kafka on the shore” by Murakami is amazing!
it messed with my brain a bit, but god damnit it was amazing!!!
i sincerely recommend it.
Murakami is great..I love reading his novels

I just read The Diviners this year and really enjoyed it!! It’s like, if Stalking Jack the Ripper & Ninth House had a baby, really! :D I’m looking forward to getting stuck into the rest of the books now (especially via audio). I hope you enjoy The King of Crows. 🙌🏻
Same here. Have had the first 3 books on me shelves for ages and can't belive that it has taken me so long to read them. The audiobooks are really good 😊
I just finnished 'Before the devil breaks you' and am imaptiantly, *very* impatiently, waiting for 'King of crows' to arrive in the mail.
