May your voyage to the Forever Star be a success :) I am taking my time with my run. Even doing things casual, without the Zutopans for now. Will do what I can to keep hope alive, as the game says. Will pursue a fan project or two in the hopes of keeping people talking about the game. I even managed to complete a basic model for the Zut fighters :) Thank you so much for your feedback over these past months, Cap! I really hope that someday, we will get to see JLO as intended.
Yeah that's the big thought I have about it. The game really needs some semi-random scripted events to force the issue and make the Zutopan threat more wily and unpredictable, or to vary and deepen the interpersonal drama amongst the crew. Occasionally you should jump into a a system where Zutopans are already lying in wait. Or you could discover some rescued civilians to be Zutopan spies and saboteurs. I'd love to see some more direct ship to ship combat that could leave you limping along with major hull damage. Imagine Euphora officiating a wedding. The colony-building loop is fine, if not for the bugs. But it's a shame they haven't had a chance to flesh out more of the storyteller layer.
So sad, this is a dream game for me on paper. The Battlestar Galatica-esque setup, being a colony sim, captaining a large spaceship full of crew, etc etc. Especially all the little details like how the crew's body language and portraits reflect their condition. If anyone has any recommendations for similar games, please let me know.
thanks for the solid review, it seemed similar to FTL, I tried the demo a year ago, but the price on steam has always been too high. I'll think about it now that it's on sale. Cheers!
It seems to be a much improved version of FTL with a lot more management. I didn't see any space battles in your review, that is an aspect of the game that is crucial to me. So sad to hear about the Devs. It does look like a lot of heart was put into creating the game.
Unfortunately, the combat is the least developed part of the game. There's a battle at the end of each run, and that's about it. The devs just didn't have enough time to develop it further.

I hope so too. Good luck with your projects, Lance!

the only thing it needed was to fix the massive performance issues which makes it unplayable after a few hours of progress

So sad.
I only played the demo. Didnt know it was in early access.
please explain why it should be bought before December 2024.... I did not understand it
Until that date, 50% of the game's profits go to the game developers who lost their jobs when production was canceled.
@@CptSnuggles07 ah got it thank you
Never heard of this game.
