Well, this is my take of the famous freight elevator here. This was originally an A&S and was an ESCO installed by I think Otis (or Westinghouse) with GAL and power Security doors, but was modernized by Amtech (not Schindler) with EPCO SSL-P and the doors were upgraded with Peelle when this became The Pavilion wing of the mall. The passenger is a 300A with MT. This is well-known for the door close button not working like older Schindlers and the doors taking forever to close. Previously, a loud bell and male voice that said "Please allow the doors to close" along with the orange strobe light activated when the doors were closing. The bell was removed several years ago and eventually the voice stopped working too. Now it's just the strobe light. Despite all this, at least this has a nice motor.
Installed 1980, modernized 2001 .

At least it still has a nice-sounding mechanical bell.
This was the sister to the former Abraham & Strauss stores at Short Hills and Willow Grove. Short Hills originally had an Otis (passenger), until it was modded by Schindler. However, the Willow Grove location had a Westinghouse, at least when it was Strawbridge's, because I remember that store when it was Strawbridge's (the Willow Grove location). Hence, this may have originally been a Westinghouse, unless the Westinghouse at the Willow Grove location was installed by Strawbridge's in 1988 when they moved in, which would have made it one of the last Westinghouses ever installed. We may never know for sure, unless we see Pennsylvania elevator records.
This 1 has always been a mystery. I've seen Westies as late as 1990. Sadly the records don't show brands that old.
I'm leaning towards Otis. I believe that's what A&S consistently used during the late 70's-early 80's, and Otis or Esco or whoever seemed to really love using GAL (ignoring the Bloomingdale's service lol). Passenger is in the same shaft as the original
Yeah I'm also leaning toward Otis, that's why I put "Otis or possibly Westinghouse" in the description, I tried to word it like I'm leaning toward Otis.
These were Courion doors modernised by Peelle doors
Technically I believe they are Security doors but I guess Security & Courion are the same thing anyhow.
It seems like this has held up very well mechanically besides the door close not working or there being a very long time delay. I think the mall is trying to keep it running well. I remember first watching the video of this elevator when I was little. I have never seen it person though, maybe someday. I think that the door might close if you keep holding the button down for a while until it is shut.
The doors have for sure deteriorated. But the motor sounds fine & it runs well though.
It no longer says please allow the door to close

Sounds like it's relay controlled, never heard that.
I'm pretty sure this isn't. Any sort of clicking might be something else.
I think security guard push the button
That was a vendor.
The slow closing gate is intentional.
Is is because they removed the annoying bell and voice ?
@@psirvent8 Yes
If it is intentional I'm sure that's not the reason. It didn't have the bell or voice for years before the gate became slow.
I really mean it how is the powerhouse in its current day
I don't know what you mean.
@@EWPA14 do you remember when Diselducy filmed the powerhouse fright elevator well that place known as the powerhouse is a playground slide for the fright elevator and I want you to film the powerhouse fright elevator in 2023 since you have filmed this elevator in 2023 so are you in on going to the powerhouse to film that fright elevator again because the powerhouse is a playground slide for the fright elevator and it looks like it and that is what I am talking about
Yeah I know which 1 now. No, it's a restricted plant that he had access to at the time & he most likely can't go back, & there's no way I can go there either. And it also doesn't help that I'm not going to the VA area anytime soon either. Sorry.
@@EWPA14 what is the workplace for anyway
It's some sort of Georgia Pacific plant, probably for where they produce paper.
