- For the first time since it was restored to operation, Little River Railroad #110 wears the lettering of her previous owner the Smoky Mountain Railway. This was done for a special occasion honoring the locomotive's 110th Birthday, being cranked out by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in late 1911.
Also for the first time in over a decade, the locomotive made a rare mileage trip to Hillsdale, well beyond the normal destination of Quincy to celebrate this occasion. The nicely painted trainset and a freshly painted steam locomotive looked great traversing the Indiana Northeastern's former NYC "Old Road" trackage through the picturesque Southern Michigan woodlands.
Watch this video to see a rare opportunity for 110 to stretch its legs out on the mainline and work hard pulling up the grades of this historic stretch of Michigan railroad, one of the oldest in the state. - Авто та транспорт
Love that all the cars match
Awesome video!
That was a fun little trip!
Yes it was! 110 will be fun to see again this weekend!
Do you know if they have any plans to continue running excursions to Hillsdale or was this a one time thing?
Maybe another one next year. This was the first time they have done a public excursion to Hillsdale in close to five years.
