Guinea Pig Stuff had an older guy that for his last year required a daily disempaction of his beans. He made it past 8 1/2. As the mass of beans was removed it was nice to see the single beans coming out for a bit while I fed him his critical care. He ate it off a spoon like a champ. He had trouble maintaining weight as he got more fragile.
@@TheBookjunky well done on taking great care of him. Be sure to check out this one as it sounds similar to what you may have started with. Diet is a huge part of this. ua-cam.com/video/Fvnq2I24REA/v-deo.html
Awe, Tim Tam is so cute! I can't get over how good he was. Moo Pig bites my fingers when I check his boy bits, I, of course, tell him he can write to the RSPCA about the horrible indignity he's suffering lol. Houdini my Texel girl yells at me whenever I clean her ears and she needs them done every couple of weeks. Tim Tam was a dream compared to my naughty pigs lol.
One of my piggy’s we got with mites witch we did not know at the time but the pour little dude had cuts and it was painful for him to do pretty much every thing but don’t worry once we stared to see is little scabs and realized that he was starting to hurt we took him to vets right away as we should. Oh btw his scabs were only on his back from all the itching from the mites
Great to hear you took action right away. Yes the itching typically is on the back but when it becomes extremely bad you can see it all over - have you seen these? ua-cam.com/video/ncSixqzNxCc/v-deo.html
Love your videos. Do you ever show the rescue or is it in your home? Even though I have had pigs for 35 years, I learn from you and it’s fun to see someone in another country taking care of piggies. 🌸🐾🌸
Hi Michelle, thanks for watching. Yes there is loads of footage of the shelter on the facebook page and presently we are refurbishing it. So there are some exciting updates to come. We have a link here that you might like to check out www.gofundme.com/f/cavy-central-extentionrevampupgrade&rcid=r01-156838586791-77abcab2fce04863&pc=ot_co_campmgmt_w
I recently adopted two brothers, 5 months old almost 6 months. I’m so worried about not being able to care for their boy bits. I didn’t know anything about this. I would love to know if impaction can be avoided and how often to check their bits are clean and at what age? So many questions 😖
I have piggies & know a lot about them🥰 but male pigs should be clean at least every 3 months but if it gets impacted then obviously before 3 months. There is no way to avoid it :/ I wish there was😭. & their little wee wee you have to take it out & make sure there isn’t anything around it & if there is clean it. When they hit 10 months you have to check it more frequently:)
Hi I was also worried about this, but don't panic! I recommend watching lots of boar cleaning videos -that's how I learned and I eventually got the hang of it. I just ease the fecal matter from their sacs every 2 weeks or so, very gently. I wouldn't use Q-tips though, I think it could hurt them and you don't want to go delving too deeply. As for their little penises I just pop it out and gently wipe with damp cotton wool. The age is generally from 3 years. You can do it! Good luck x.
Hi no not in this case. Running lice like Static lice survive off debri off the skin layer and around the hair follicle but unlike mites that are microscopic, you can see them. They are moving. Check out ua-cam.com/video/pyRgvbzCF0A/v-deo.html and you can see what I mean. Cheers Lyn
he must of had really bad mats to be shaved/cut out so skin would not get any air or moisture also she said there indoor piggys so no worry about them picking up anything from outside
this is another great video and i was thinking of doing somehting similar for my you tube channel, would you be interested in possibly doing some collaboration?
Never saw any boar cavity cleaning, and camera work was poor. Not educational. Please no music and no screen frame decor - they are an irritant and interfere with watching.

He wasn’t wincing in pain, but he was pooping in protest, lol.
ha ha yes probably
What a good boy during the entire process! He has definitely been loved and handled with care.
Yes was gorgeous but a great deal is just down to how you handle and hold them. Great to see you here Thebookjumky

Cutest floofy brown mop I've ever seen. 😍
Yes indeed
He's gorgeous!! So glad I don't have a long haired boy, such high maintenance but such a lovely boy
They are so adorable though and I honestly don't find the work that much more.

Maybe he thinks if he poops on you you’ll leave him alone.. lol
No this is quite normal with these little poop machines.
He’s so pretty!
Yes absolutely

This why I got my fixed so I did not have to deal with these rods but I do check my male. But never clean my pigs ears.
Take a peek in thoose ears please.
I was wondering, I have a young 1 month old boar. when should I do this ? when he turns a bit more older or now is okay ?
Could the white flakes be static lice? Here we would assume static lice, not running. We would treat for both as well, fungal and bugs..🌸🐾🌸

Hello @Cavy Central Guinea Pig Rescue with Lyn in how many days these procedure has to be done for a guinea pig?
BTW big fan of yours!
Hi omenTB pop over to the facebook page where we did a live on Sunday and we talked about exactly this in detail. You will find it interesting.
why do i watch a guinea pig not poop from its not butt twice a day?!
he must of had really bad mats to be shaved/cut out so skin would not get any air or moisture also she said there indoor piggys so no worry about them picking up anything from outside
Yes definitely. Sadly I have seen many inside piggies in a terrible state but I will do a video on that as some housing is more approprate than others
Do they produce less if you get them neutered?
Neutering reduces the likelihood of serious impaction later on.
I never knew this about boars. My vet checked none of this and told me nothing about it.
I am glad you have found me. There is a really important video on this about to come out which will help you.
Why are they constantly pooping?
They are copraphagic animals.
Are you near a air Port ???
No a long way away, but with the last year and most flights cancelled, when one flies over it is really noticed now.
this is another great video and i was thinking of doing somehting similar for my you tube channel, would you be interested in possibly doing some collaboration?
