She is trying SO HARD to bait Buffett into the hard left stance NBC takes.....Buffett however kept stressing the need to be careful in business. And to NOT go down that political road. KUDOS to Mr Buffett.
Randal Colling I think it is very reasonable from her to get his opinion about how the political situation affects his business decisions. I also want to know if a school shooting affects business decisions, so I’m glad she asks about these. She doesn’t push anything, she just asks relevant questions.
Chris Crepon Of course, if you have better information about upcoming tax law changes, or huge federal infrastructure investments etc... you can make better bets in the stock market.

Mr Bufett is the BEST - a true gentleman and a scholar, this is what ppl should emulate as Midwest American role model, btw it is got nothing to do with his success and $$$, he is great because of his intellect, knowledge and humility
Yes, he didn't say that at all in this video. Fyi, his exact words from a lecture he did to university students on investing was "to risk something you have and need for something you don't have and don't need is foolish..".
He said it by saying that Berkshire shouldn’t get involved in politics. The reasoning is because Berkshire has the potential to lose pro gun investors and is unlikely to gain additional anti gun investors cause they also already own shares of Berkshire. By joining politics he is trading pro gun investors for a possibility of no replacement investors

For those saying business and politics shouldn't mix: in what world are you living? Politics obviously affect everything in our life.
From the point of view of someone outside the USA, if find it bizarre that there are so many guns in your country that gun control is influencing high level stock investment.
The U.S., as with any other society, has a particular history which gives rise to a particular culture. By analogy, France is such that they protest en masse all the freaking time over everything. And that's just France. Well, Americans cherish firearms, which are enshrined in the nation's Bill Of Rights for a legitimate reason. I don't foresee it changing any time soon.
Businesses that take an anti-gun stance generally suffer. There's no need to boycott a business over every little disagreement but people feel strongly enough about certain issues that they will go out of their way not to give a company money if they feel they are being attacked. You can't lash out against a group of people (gun owners in this case) and expect them to get in line to give you money. It is a foolish business move when companies take a stance and start to alienate over 100 million people in the United States.
I disagree WB if enough people believe smoking is bad then they will stop smoking and using those companies... Young people today have already proven it. If you treat people as wrong the people will speak up with their wallets.
Warren Buffett teaches me something every time I listen. I Want to know the name of the lady who is telling us to click on any other interviews around me. She's beautiful.
Most stockholders companys worry just about their stockholders and run companys into bankruptcy they dont care about employees and sell off assets to make profits. They would run lemonade stand into bankruptcy.
In an attempt to garner more authority, an individual can assume a lower tone of voice; in women, it tends to result in "vocal fry" -- since it makes the voice somewhat crispy, bumpy.
Corporations should, including BH should not take a moral/ethical position on any social issues unless it makes money. Making money is the only thing that matters, period. Really?

You don't solve political problems by shutting down your business. Even if you want to for moral reasons, it will be highly ineffective. This may be the only place where government is effective.
Actually, if i came on a show as an investor, i would demand not to sit in front of a women dressed in a short dress. If you look down for a moment people will get the impression that you are looking up their shirts.
Unless it is bought during an IPO or preferred shares directly from the issuer, owning stock in gun manufacturers does little if anything to aid the company. Most trades are private, from you selling Ruger to me buying it or vice versa...hence the terms stock exchange.

What does he need £85 billion for he never spends it he’s just a sad man with loads of cash Go and squander it before you go for the dirt nap their no point having billions when your dead
This title "Warren Buffett: It's Insane To Risk What You Have For Something You Don't Need | CNBC" is probably mismatched. Please fix.
Joseph Ng oh no, I think the gun grabbers titled it just how they wanted.
its absoletuly true
@Joe Black agreed
Where to find that quote or interview?
Amazing, he is 87 and still sharp as a tack!!

He's a genius he's to modest to say so spends 6 hours reading and use to read at lightening speed when he was younger and absorb it all

More like sharp as a "Razor"!
Yeah, this is what you get from continues thinking, rather than reading someone else's thoughts on a stupid book,,,,
buffet seems to unaffected by his billions. just so normal and pleasant to listen to.
Jon.o yeah, unaffected while the weapons his companies manufacture bomb Iraqi women and children and Buffett sips his cherry Cokes at the same time.
Dimitrios Freedom im sure its not like that..
Jon.o sure it's like that. He owned stock in defence company General Dynamics during the Iraq war.
your are very correct - such a contrast to "others" that are so out-spoken about their billions...

Wrong title
We often risk things we always want. Good advice Buffett.
He didn't say that in this video. Can you fix the title?

Summary of this video : Business, Ethics and politics should all be separated

yep
You invest for money, not politics
if you have no principles
I believe that is probably Coke in Warren's glass. Super funny hearing his daughter say she's never seen him drink water.
Vocal fry to the max.

You should tell the telecommunications companies this.

Buffet Birkshire is also buying Sirius XM (SIRI) as well. It is a stock that is going from $6 to $30 in 5 years just like Bank of America did.

Bless you for noticing his ears and not her legs - but then you're probably female. *eyeroll*
Interesting video, but the video title does not line up with that Buffett discusses here.

She's thoughtful, intelligent, does her homework and carefully phrases her questions as well as being pretty. Give credit where credit is due.
Clickbait for tired legs
It probably lowers premiums. There is nothing wrong with guns.
Corporations should, including BH should not take a moral/ethical position on any social issues unless it makes money. Making money is the only thing that matters, period. Really?
The more of their arms and legs a woman shows, the less I take them seriously. I am not a conservative. It's just that equality is real.

The woman is beautiful and she showing the part that is beautiful, no different what we men do
If you cant take that woman seriously, you lack descernment. She is knowledgable and even keeled.
If anything, if homeowners are armed, burglars are less likely to rob their house.
She gave warren a hummer right before this started
Investing results are influenced by political events but personal views should stay neutral.
Becky's male junior high classmates could not resist asking the question: " is Becky Quick"? She is long over that teasing i am sure.
Well then why is he investing in things people don't need?
I’ll invest in companies who are interested in being profitable
Emily Blunt is hosting CNBC now?
The title is really misleading... :/

brandonbeavisinvesting Carl Icahn and Peter Thiel are much better.
Interesting... Will have to take a look into Peter Thiel. Actually haven't heard of him!
Ray Dalio's on another level too
Money does not lie why is this a question the GOAT is BUFFET
Ben Graham was Buffett's mentor though.

No he isn’t king. He says the stupidest most common sense crap and everyone drools over it like he’s a god.
Now tell us how you really feel.
His "common sense crap" is exactly what has made him so successful.
Why do you view common sense as crap
His "common sense crap" has been fairly profitable over the years. I wish I could value a business half as well as Buffett.
