I think exotiik going from one of the most solid all around players to worlds mvp is noteworthy. Granted it’s not most improved by percentage but that little improvement at the top is harder so it means more.
Yeah it’s crazy that he was a two’s main player and was known as one of the best in the world in 2’s but when it came to three’s he was not very great. It’s cool to see his transformation from a mid level-pro threes player to one of the best in the game and win the world championship which is the end all be all for Rocket League players.
@@dbean5174 lol I agree with his transformation individually. However exotiik was never “mid level.” KC dominated rlcs in 2023 up until zen and rise joining orgs. At the end, KC BDS VIT were clearly the best 3 teams in the world. Ur not mid level if ur apart of those 3 powerhouses. And he’s French.
@@hellohi1445 no, in this context, I was actually talking about him before he was on KC, like before he even joined a team. I guess I was a little vague on him being “mid”.
What did you feel was lacking with Archie last season? I keep seeing this pick but it doesnt make much sense to me, I think Im just too hung up on first split last season but Archie played really well, of course even better now
@@taxrate I guess so, I wish more people knew how good that Oxg roster with Joreuz, Archie and Oaly could have been. They were the only team that was able to dominate KC in the start of that season, just inconsistent as fuck maybe Joreuz curse
@@starcore7507 it’s because going into the LAN, he hadn’t been playing the game much and he still managed to look like the best player on the team and one of the best defenders in the tournament.
@@therealnerd8592 80+ hours past two weeks going into LAN btw. Regardless, that wasn't my point. People just didnt rate him highly as a player in general, it wasnt the additional context of Oxg being invited later on
Chicago and Fiberr were the 2 that really stood out to me. Bananahead at times. And Atomic I thought played really well for much of the tourney. Shame all anyone will remember is the ending.
Hey Gibbs! Thank you so much for taking a pic with me at Worlds. I was devastated by the G2 loss and then you took the time when you didn't have to. Really appreciate it man!
I never thought he was ever shaky lol. When BDS were losing, it was always down to all 3. Shogun said it best. When it went bad, all 3 just never knew how to bounce back from difficulty.
I agree with pretty much this entire list. I also considered Drali and Exotiik. Drali because I felt like he was the reason they wouldn't do as well at the first 2 majors. He looked pretty bad at times, but then he comes into EWC and worlds and plays insane. He finally got past those rookie lan nerves. And then Exotiik has always been really good but he just stepped it up in a major way throughout the entire world championship which is why he got MVP
Comparing from LAST YEAR since anything less than that is hard to judge. 1. bananahead - picked up the pace if not consistency 2. 2Die4 - So solid for a SSA player I know he was still one of if not the best last year but never the less was impressive 3. Archie - I mean I hope he can keep it up what more can I say IMO top 10 in the tournament easily from nearly placing dead last last year. 4. LJ - I have been impressed with LJ all year especially since split 2 where they've finally started beating teams that are "better" 5. ExotiiK - Idk if he's most improved but to be able to keep up with the rest of the pack and still come out with a better performance is impressive. HM: Kiileerrz, Atow, Lost, Fiber (and tbh Chicago looked pretty good aside from what seemed to be nerves.)
I feel Exotiic has to be in that list. One of the most underrated players of all time. No one expected him to be talked about at worlds and he comes away with the MVP. You could make an argument for the rookie of the year, Drali as well.
I think on OXG it should be Archie. Yes joyo and oski were impressive but Archie clearly was the worst player on the team throughout the season and the most impressive during worlds on the offensive and defensive side. Also Drali should get a shout-out Imo since he has improved so much throughout the year.
while i agree, i did think power looked good against g2 despite the series loss. i dont think the region improved per se, i think both OCE teams finally played to the level one would expect from a long-time yet smaller region; not good enough to contend for the title, but good enough to knock out some teams that arent playing their best on the day
Substitute OCE with Pioneers here, Pioneers didn't play the best (still better than usual) but Pwr has been good. They were competetive last year, even this year they are able to hold their own against top teams, not enough people see their potential they are genuinely good
@@starcore7507 It's just not enough though. As much as I like to praise their performance every major and that they look competitive and stuff, failing to get top 8 for years at this point is just not to praise anymore. I'm glad that Pioneers looked competitive this tournament, that's good for OCE, but at the end of the day, the region is not really progressing. @@kristianvukajlovic6789 Your entire point goes out the window when you realize they are on an upwards trend, especially this season. Also idk if you watch OCE at all but their season started off so bad, they looked like they were playing at such a low level. So not only are they on an upwards trend but they had a pretty decent bounce back this year, enough the people actually have started giving them credit for it. Give it some time and we'll have an even more international top 8, really cool to see the Esport headed in this direction
Lostt would not be on my list. Ever since spring split of 22-23 he became a whole other player and has been the best player on Furia by a margin since that split imo

Archie, Lost, Fiber, Bananahead & Drali would be my top 5, off the top of my head
Fr fiber was insane
great picks, i agree
drali cant be on the list, its his first season.

Dralli the shaky rookie going to the awesome air dribble scorer in the grand final

Great shouts, but gotta mention ExotiiK and Dralii.
Most surprising was Archie being an absolute demon. Def looking good. Also hats off to 16 yo drallii dude seemed stone cold. Impressive.
Can I say that Daniel and Beastmode should be on this list for the season since they didn’t make worlds last season and now got top 2.
exotiik atow archie chicago and one of the 6 oce players tbf they all played great
My list before watching: drufinho, dralii, oski, fiberr, fever
Exotiik, archie, Chicago, Torsos, Fiberr
Fiber Drali Lostt Archie and Hockser/Chicago
chicago, archie, fiberr, drufinho, and idk
Torsos, Fiberr, Archie personally
Daniel went absolutely insane.
Players that surprised me: Fiber, Chicago, Archie

He's mostly not on it because he should have won mvp at ewc as well. Drali for a similar reason of bds coming off a lan win.

Did OXG break up or did the org just drop them?
They have said they plan to stick, but this kind of thing might change in the off season as always
They declared bankruptcy months ago
