I like how your setup is so simple. Everyone seems to freak out about having darkroom conditions and all that. You're just keeping out of direct sunlight and everything is cool. Makes it less intimidating.
Here is a little hack for ya... Instead of using the manual timer and unplugging the light, get some "smart plugs" that you plug the light into. Then you can use the app for the plug or Alexa app to create a routine where the light turns on, counts down for 15 seconds, and then turns off just by you pressing the button on your phone. Or, if you use Alexa, you can make it so you say "Alexa, burn 160 mesh." I have it set up for 110, 160, 200, 230 and 305
How much height do you put on your exposure unit? I keep 24” height but I can’t burn the screens fast like you, I spend around 1’40”sec to complete with one emulsion and 2’40” to another emulsion
I was looking up reviews on this Quans light and found you. I had order this but didn’t like how I have to keep unplugging it. I found and extension cord with foot or hand button on Amazon for $9. Thought I’d pass this info onto you to try. It’s GE 42803 3 Outlet Extension Cord with On/Off
I have a video of how to make this from scratch check out this video if you want more information and yes it sits on a table or anything you want it to. ua-cam.com/video/8i-LQJTR_Qk/v-deo.html

@@ApparelTalk another quick question. I watched the video link you provided. If you used a 24in board that holds the Quans light. What's the distance from the light to the screen? Thx!
Great video I am glad I came across it because I wanted to buy that emulsion but I did not know what light to use . What’s the distance between the glass and the light also what are the dimensions of the frame ? Thank you .
Great set up. We have a similar set up and I always say "you don't need all the fancy equipment to get the job done" I do have a question, what do you use to dry them after washing out in the booth? I place them next to a fan to dry but I'm waiting about 20-30mins for them to dry. Any suggestions to dry them quickly?
@@ApparelTalk no worries man. I ended up purchasing an exposure table. I did use the same setup you are using now for about a month and it worked great.
One consistent question you've not helped with a definite response is the distance of the light from the screen. Please it's important as am planning on building a box. Thanks a lot.
Someone wanted to know about it and the time it takes I found that 15 sec worked best for me I did put the link where to get it in the description. Hopefully people will want to watch it and make the views go up a little lol.
S M if your talking about the little flood lights in the back hanging. No they do not at all mess with exposing it. I have even done it at night with using with and still nothing.
U can see around the headlights an around the suspension it's missing also the intake part it has lines so I'ma do a 3 min burn an see what happens is 1hr enough to let the emulsion dry it's dry to the touch ? Way sooner if say 30 mins
pukingdeserthobo if you have a lot of stuff running on that breaker circuit that can cause it as well if your not using Chromo Tech WT then that can cause it as well this light should break the time from 3 min to at least 30 sec also how far away is it from the screen

Yes in the beginning it was very very intimidating so I started playing around more to see how far I could take it
Nice thing about the Warmer Climates. I like this. Would not work in Michigan but it is nice to be able to do things like this!
Trust me I fully understand and for sure won’t work in Michigan I grew up in Lansing so I know about the climate
Thank you sir I’ve been trying to get into it and instructions say 15 mins on mine but obviously not I over burnt my screens

Dtag1971 H thanks for the support I will for sure be putting out a lot more content as well
I see it is not necessary to apply emulation in dark room. By the way what is the measurements of your glass? Thanks
If I’m not mistaken it’s a 20” it’s a pre cut from home depot
The water are cold or hot ?

That's funny... im exactly where you started and I just did. See where I end up. Ty for video brother
would this light work with Jac Diazo Emulsion ? cheers
Yes it should as it needs UV light for the Emulsion and this light is UV
what's the thick of that non uv glass?.( It means UV resistant, right?)
What is the difference between black light and UV light?
Thank you.
thanks for this sir! btw any kind of kinds/brands of emulsion are okay with this LED lamp?
They are all good just have to try the one that you might like more.

LED light flood light 50w is okay for this expose
Great job! How far is the light from the screen?
RellikThaGreat if I remember it’s around 16” but have another video showing on how to make this exposure unit and I say it in there
Have you done any half tones with that emulsion or led light?
Yes I have

having the flood light on doesn't pre-expose your films?

How long do u let ur emulsion dry for I'm doing it for about 1hr an I did burns at 30 but wasn't getting the detail I need
So that why I used the calculator an it's saying 3 mins

Idk if you’ll get this since it was 3 years ago but does mesh count and fine detail affect the time you burn
the higher the mesh the better detail you will get
what timer do you use?
I use a cheap timer that I bought at Walmart in the cooking section but you also use your phone
Do you remove the glass on the UV light or keep it on?
