Devara: Part 1 Movie Review by Sucharita Tyagi - NO ONE, not ONE PERSON is expecting ANY feminist angles to magically emerge from the depths of the shark-infested waters around this town. Admittedly I didn’t even expect Jr NTR to emerging RIDING a shark from these shark infested waters, and I suppose this is a film that at one point was simply titled NTR 30, as is custom, what is one to expect?
Devara, at least this Part 1 exists ONLY as fan service. The impressive and elaborate action sequences, the empty bloodlust, the gratuitous, pointless violence is designed to titillate a very specific kind of man who fancies himself a bit of an Indian movie star. He wishes for impunity as irl just isn’t allowed to display his flair for the dramatics very often. In the auditorium I was in, a group of young men yelled and hooted at the screen for the ENTIRETY of the film’s 3 hours duration. Merey auditorium mein interval bhi nahi tha, but this little fan militia did not give up. The first shot when JrNTR appears, he flies out of the sea straight at the movie screen because the camera knows this is a thing of beauty. Simultaneously, the man sitting 2 seats down from me flew out of his chair, his whole body in convulsing like he’s been touched by God. Also similar reaction, see above Janhavi Kapoor takes a bath.

Stop rubbing your so called Bollywood opinion on us.
To fix this movie:
1. invert first half/devara's story with second half/vara's story
2. show that devara dies in the past but don't show the face of the person who "killed" him...this poses the question: "Who killed Devara?"
3. don't show vara's true "face"/character in the present (masquarading as devara)....simply the shadowy apparition among the flames in the sea would have been apt, just cut the scene to him collapsing in front of the boat bleeding out...leaving the audience to scratch their heads thinking as to "who could that be?"

The movie tested my patience to the core. Terrible writing, dull narration and over the top action blocks and nothing else. lol I watch this stuff in like every blockbuster Telugu movie. Nothing new 🙏

Where she did? I watched both her Jawan and Pathaan review and she constantly keep saying the story, plot were nowhere to be found. Just enjoy the stardom of SRK which she is right about.

By the way Pathaan is better than Jawan. Not saying Pathaan was good movie but only that it was better than Jawan. The only reason Jawan got hyped by north fans bcs it's from south director. Otherwise it was awful. Pathaan at least had minimum level of interesting plotline and Jim. Meanwhile Jawan was always on flight mode. Nothing to watch, other than SRK.

tatti movie thangalan. Devara is much more entertaining than thangalan no doubt chiyan vikram movie has become a disaster whereas Devara has done 150cr+ on opening day itself which is double than the lifetime of Thangalaan
I would love you to review hidden underrated but masterpiece south Indian movies Tyagi like Thangalaan(2024), Lover(2024), Maaveeran(2023) etc. If you have time do review Thangalaan(2024) on OTT, its grounded masterpiece.

2) cool calm colors(soft moon light) very soothing to eyes in the theatre

4) No vulgarity shown woman beauty.

6) No cliffhangers for part 2
7) complete film
8)Kids friendly, Family friendly
9) No rap* scenes.
Negatives:
1) not Big story soft storyline.
2) ntr dual role caused other characters to adjust their screen time
4) expected story line

Till 2 days ago, I hadn't seen the trailer. Got interested after KJo Kross-promotion Kathaayein on youtube and then saw it. Booked tickets, found this 4th review I saw which also finds the movie weird, from my frequent sources , and still not cancelled... because I want that escapism 😂, the feeling of excitement where my adulthood of 36 does not matter for timepass popcorn entertainment.
