Oooh always get excited for these UAW videos. Love this game. Also I recently started using mutagen branch as hierarchy more, using habitat walkers and infantry supported with the healing powers of one or two habitat walkers radiation artillery and 2 sience walkers also its possible to have both radiation cascade and visual optimizer. Just get a sience walker with the optimizers then sell the research and re tech for mutagen branch level 4. Now you have map hacks and can send your radiation super weapon to the perfect spot to wipe out a huge part of opponents base as they become occupied with the infantry healing habitat walker. Makes for a long game but it was fun tried it against 2 hard novus ai wonder if it would work against a player
Conventional wisdom is that the radiation superweapon is less useful than Mind/Machine magnets or Mass Drivers/Beam Cannons I don't know of any players who intentionally re-tech like that. I think due to time/cost it might be inefficient. Also with 2 science walkers, you might struggle to support a late game army against Novus or Masari who can get production out of up to 5 factories at once
@@Waywardstrategist true sience walkers can be pretty hard to use due to there fragile nature. I just enjoy messing around with the mechanics even if they aren't meta lol. The only way the sience walkers radiation cascade becomes truly useful is when equipped with 3 range enhancer hard points making the radiation wave travel for a quite large distance. And yes re-tech would be a bad match up in most cases especially against masari's late game power. Totally agree it's time consuming. Definitely a strategy that would be easier to try on defcon mode. I mean let's be honest here I usually go assault branch weponized walkers, orlock artillary and saucer spam
@@mturzanski I think trying off meta strats is awesome! Just wanted to be clear about off meta/inefficiencies against other players since I believe that was part of your question
It's still tied to Games for Windows Live so when that service was removed all stores stopped carrying it sadly. You can still find box copies on Amazon and stuff I think
I'd like to correct you for one video, I don't know if it's a mistake or not, but Science Walker must have all 3 Visual Optimizers to see the whole map, if there are two or one won't work, the same goes for the Cascade Reactor super weapon. I love this game and I wish there were more videos for this game, but I know that the community is a small plus because the game has been removed from steam. Thank you for all the videos about this game and I hope there will be more in the near future.
The only place this is still for sale is in box copies on Amazon. Due to it requiring Games for Windows Live it's not sold on steam or anything any more.
It's something I'd consider, yeah. I definitely like DOW1 a lot. Just trying to keep my regular rotation to 3-4 games; too many games and I'll end up doing each game like once a month 🤔
@@Waywardstrategist I totally understand and I never saw it like that. No matter what this is your channel and I'm just happy to see someone covering these old rts games. But If I could suggest something. You could still do your 3-4 games but perhaps once or twice a week/month. Perhaps consider doing an odd RTS game. To spice things up but still retain your regular schedule. But either way. Keep up the good work
@@Johnnekaiser Right now my schedule is Monday and Thursday, and I alternate between Dawn of War 2, C&C3, Universe at War, and Grey Goo. I'm definitely going to at least sprinkle in other games. Right now I'm trying to focus on what's fun for me rather than trying to find tricks to grow my channel. That being said I do love DOW and I think I have a lot of people who follow me that would like to see it. Just need to figure out how to make it work...

I'm so glad that I re-found this game recently. It's so different and nifty, but could use like a graphical update mod.
Now this is happening. Thanks for the video
I've got a couple more coming too! Thanks for watching :D
Looks unique at least. Dang those War of the Worlds walkers look absolutely devastating.
Title had me rolling a few fatties and getting blunted,thanks man😊

Dang, watching these videos made me want to play it again. I was hoping steam or another site would still sell copies ;-;

There’s a discord community dedicated to this game where you can get it for free

Hey, I wonder. Would you consider doing Orignal Dawn of War Matches? Like In Soulstorm or even with some popular mods like UA or Unifcation
