It’s really something when snow banks make a big piece of machinery like this look small. Just incredible.
I’m thinking this snow melt will help fill those California reservoirs. The people and the equipment and their ability to maneuver in mountain roads or even residential neighborhoods takes skill. Much much more than clearing 6” from Lowe’s stores here in the Midwest. Congrats to you diligent folks who keep snow off the roads!
No Ca governor will make sure that doesnt happen. There is too much money to make on a forever drought.
@@lloydchristmas1086 that’s sad! Money hungry people 😮
state of ca. already announced no impact on drought. & so cal gas co announced 2024 rate hikes. this year bills up 3x from last year.
@@judypratt2868 CA is ran by a criminal oligarchy, the Pelosi-Newsom families are beyond corrupt and criminal.
It's very satisfying watching a skilled operator do a job well. Thanks for the video.
Keep the videos coming, awesome footage. We know what snow is like here in Michigan, BUT not that much holy cow, Good luck to you all out there in California!
So cool you guys are getting all that snow
As a fellow snow remover is the Mountain of SoCal I would want to give you guys props !! You make it look easy !! Good job and be safe , God bless !!
Good job, I’m sure your community appreciate your hard work!
You know it's a big year when the ramps connect. Looking good Greef
Thanks Addo!
Having to make snow ramps and pushing snow onto the property is crazy! Great job. Keep up the great work!
Thanks!
Watching from Costa Rica! That is crazy!
It’s crazy the amount of snow there ❤ hello from Truro Nova Scotia Canada
The ole Kodiak still goes through snow pretty good.
Great footage, beautiful machine
Excellent video, well done!!
Thank you! Cheers!
You have the ultimate snow removal set up with he 938CAT with the Blower and Blade very nice!!
Montague up in northern California actually got 8" in one period. Most amount in almost 10 yrs. It was so nice. My daughter got to drive her 4x4 power wheel in it
Man u must have got all our snow plus your regular snow. We have not even had a foot yet. You make it look easy, safe to say you have a few hours in that loader.
Thank you!
Lived up at SLT for almost 6 years. It was always fun to see these big machines go down our street and blow that snow 50 feet across into the forset. My kids loved it!
This was one of the most relaxing video's I've seen. Too bad it wasn't longer.
Thank you! I will make some longer videos in the future!
The amount of snow you guys got hit with in such a short time is nuts. Even Grass Valley got a decent amount this year so far.
Its been crazy! Thankfully our equipment is holding up so far
@@griffgranger Just left area today, lucky got out before they closed the freeway again.👍
Great operator
That's power.
Fossil fuel 💪🏻
Shout-out to the CAT operator he's great at his job, I know it's hard work. However, he made it look fun.
That Cat 938G is a BEAST! (In a good way).
It sure is! Such a great machine to run
CA needs about a thousand more of these bad boys
Gave you a sub. Thanks for the show
Thanks! More videos on the way
The efficiency of that blower is impressive.
I truly love the snow we get in Minnesota but this is insane
My guess--few weeks forward, mid March, this fun is over.
GOOD operators, smooth, tight n accurate w no significant wheel spin.
beast! i have a blower for my cat248...they do amazing work.
Good golly!
This was just what i was looking for, great video. No b.s music, just equipment moving snow! I plow snow in Mass and i wanted to find a good recent upload from out there.. insane. A part of me wishes i was there to help 😂
A part of me wishes you were here to help too lol Thanks for watching!!
I plow in NH with a Cat 924. Yesterday I got off a straight 31 hour shift during that nor’easter, and came home and started watching one of these videos, wondering what the heck’s wrong with me
@@robgray6447 lmao. Its more fun watching other people do it
Wow, I don't think my 32 horse Kubota would be much help..... I run a 6.5' scraper and over 6" of snow I hook up the 5' loader bucket. We have not had any snow this winter here in central Illinois. Good Luck and God Bless.
Lol...based on this last storm you got plenty of work now 😂
And they want to go all electric? I would love to see that piece of equipment. Get your grocery's while the roads are cleared because it's going to be a long winter.
I think your overthinking it, though they are making trucks that can pull fright. Time will tell how this all works out. Maybe diesel trucks stay around for another generation or so. Technically and advancements are never ending.
"They". What a dumb comment. Think harder. These machines will still get built even as most people buy EVs. It's not the same people buying these and light duty vehicles. And battery density continues to improve. I'm ten years, yes this will be electric and powered by clean energy because that will be the best, most affordable option for whoever buys and runs the machine.
EV's are a scam. Think about for a second, Teslas have killed multiple drivers because of a software glitch, ev trucks can't tow anything and some ev's have caught fire while parked in the garage. The lithium used to make ev batteries gets mined from the earth and the mining process destroys the land. Even some charging stations require a gas or diesel generator to power the charging station. 🤔
Long as they have a long extension cord they should be fine.
@@originalmattprorokI’ll go with….uh, bullshit
Tell Newsome that an electric snowblower isn’t going to do the job.
Just wondering why you only have a straight blade and not a 4-1 to help carry snow for some of what you are doing? I’m in Ottawa Canada 🇨🇦 we get snow and I love plowing. I can only dream of a winter like you folks are getting.
How many gallons does just the blower hold? Incredible video and is humbling here in way North Minnesota by Lake Superior
The blower holds 60 gallons and burns about 10-13 gallons per hour. Thanks for watching!!
You know it’s a lot of snow when you have to push into peoples back yards😀😀
We are running out of room!
Nice way to move snow
Thanks, It does pretty good!
What an absolute unit...sweet vid griff 💪 question....what's the blower weigh in total?
Thanks Paul! It weighs roughly 15k pounds
what a beast. im in the wrong line of work.
How does billing the homes work? Is it just an hourly rate?
I can't get over the chains on those tires...
What do they weigh? How long to put them on?
Sounds like a turbo Cummins 12v in the blower.
How on earth any wildlife is going to make it this year is beyond me.
I live in Tahoe and the wildlife does a lot better then our new city transplants, hopefully they will get the fuk out in summer. They are a soft bunch of humans. Cityits
This is nuts, think I'll stick to the midwest!
Aah the good ole days many a day & night hours in a loader just my opinion but think you guys would beenifit with a Degalman or a HILA 12-16 ft adjustable wings to go from 12 to 18 ft wide with both wings open or box it to carry snow or open one side or the other and let it fly out either side I think now they have one that folds in the middle as well making a giant VEE PLOW not sure what size you have on there now looks like 12 or maybe 16-foot blade not sure but also these plows pivot left and right just as yours does just look on here and look up Degalman or HILA THEY ATE PRETTY COOL 👍
Makes my Cummins plow truck look like a fisher price toy
That much snow avalanche season soon.
After they do away with diesel fuel, good luck living in these areas because there will be no way to move this kind of snow.
as if they couldn’t make one of these plows fully electric 🙄
@@dustinraney23 dream on bc it’s only a dream. The battery pack would be larger than the loader and last for only a short time in the cold with this kind of load. Diesel/electric would be the only other way similar to trains
They will make special exceptions for wealthy who want to ski.
@@ohsweetmystery lol. You got that right!!
But, there won’t be any snow! 😂
The rubber tired dozer seems unstoppable, I wonder how much shit he hits covered by snow.
Good ole Alpine Meadows.
High fuel consumption mode. Also, a lot of water stored in that snow. Prayers for a slow melt.
do you guys work for the state or county?
We get a ton of snow in northern Japan, but the local town's officials don't plow. They sit back and hope enough trucks and cars push through to make paths. I guess they pocket the expense money for the blowers and plow equipment parked near city hall, because they sure to heck rarely use them.
There's always One Guy on the block who has to have the Biggest Snow thrower . . . .
Opps!! I think I just ground up my friends Honda Civic. 😁
Just how much snow does Lake Tahoe get a yr ??? we go nuts in Wisconsin if its 8-12 inches...
About 300 inches a season on average!
BEAUCOUP DE NEIGE
Is the Blade designed as Dozer Blade for levelling Soil ?? - or is it a dedicated Slow Blade - just asking as it dosent have Trip Edges
Dedicated snow blade! We don’t like the trip edges because we need to be able to rip up packed snow and the solid blade works great for that
I’m thinking these guys are in for a much needed bonanza. No snow in how long?
Wow, how can you know when you are going to hit a fire hydrant, mail box fence post or even a small car.
Fire hydrants are marked with red snow stakes and we know where every fire hydrant is in the neighborhood. We do not have mail boxes for that exact reason and the small cars, I guess we've gotten lucky so far haha
just curious , how does it work, do u charge by the inch or by the hour in lake tahoe .if u get 700 cm a year, i say cm cause im from canada. man u must be raking in the cash.
What’s it cost to get a driveway cleared with equipment like that?
I LOVE DIESEL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You’re a clown. Love diesel how old are you 19
Viewed from Maryland ,
Pun intended : " That's cool " the best I can do is a 7 hp self propelled 36 " walk behind ..
I would have a lot of fun running that equipment
Thanks for sharing ,,!!!
Our units in Alaska had the power unit on the back to balance the machine.
Nice, Ive seen quite a few of those around. We like having it as one unit so that we are lugging around the extra weight when we have the blade on.
Is it Easy /Quick to drop the Blower off to pick up the Bucket ??
Yeah super easy. Just has an electrical plug and other than that it’s just like switching any other attachments
Kind of hard to use diesel equipment if they ban all fuel don't you think
Needs more HP!! Never enough.
Hope that wasn't a cold start.
The machines are bigger and the snow is higher at Soda Springs.
Is that a 3208 in the blower?
It is a CAT Engine but I will have to check to see which model it is
This is the job i wont so BAD
Let’s not forget that train locomotives are electric. The diesel motors are there just to power the electric generators.
Better start getting a plan together for when the melting starts! I know you need the moisture but this is crazy!!
Snow in the sierra melts gradually. It is not a big problem. You can see snow in the mountains even in summer
@Jos Reyes Up here in Alberta when spring comes it's like someone flips a switch to "defrost". We had a dry fall so what moisture there is will disappear quick! Good luck down there!!
@@richardherndon8219 you must not be a CA resident to know what happens..Our stupid Governor thinks a bullet train is more important that water storage all this snow and snow CA has got melts and goes right out to the ocean 😃 thanks Gov Newsom
@ElJabali Nope, from the Great White North...but Gov Newsom's stupidity is legendary!!
This is next to "charming" in the dictionary?
Does melting snowwater later on go to one of the big reservoirs or just into the desert? (I am from the netherlands)
from tahoe it goes into lake tahoe,a huge natural lake--look it up,beautiful--then it runs out into the truckee river, thru reno and into pyramid lake that sits out in the desert--look it up--the sierras go for about 400 miles huge snowpack--from lee vining on down the melting snowpack of the sierras is sent via canal all the way to los angeles --what they cant handle will go into the ocean or dumped into the desert--i really enjoy watching Itchy boots ,her travels on her motor cycle--she is from the netherlands...see on u tube also--i live close to Mammoth Lakes Calif--we have massive snow also-see mammoth on u tube
@@dethray1000 Agree. Noraly (Itchy Boots on UA-cam) is amazing! Great ambassador for the Dutch people.
@@greenfire6924 I love her adventures, amazingly brave
No our stupid Governor sends it to ocean when it melts
Hope you don't find an old crankshaft or cam shaft thrown in a snow bank.

Did you see that black smoke?? no more gasoline/diesel snowplows in California?? Give Every Prisoner a plastic kiddie shovel and an extra pair of socks,,used as gloves
Where's the EV snow removal equipment?
Come on, California is supposed to be more green!
So what's it like to be plowing and run into a vehicle you cannot see buried in snow ?
How many people get pissed off from the snow being blown into their yards ? 🤔😃
Try THAT with something battery....hahhahaa....good luck
Sucks to be you when everything goes electric.
..unefficient technology...
I've had some good laughs over you crazy Californians NOT blowing, shoveling or plowing a wide enough pathway. By the end of the season, ya'll won't be able to drive your car out of your driveway, or walk out to the street because you only scraped enough snow to "clear" a path rather then scraping 1/3 more on each side to leave room for future storms. Those of us who live in the far North figured out to build "X-ways" through the snow early on.
There is only so much you can do when you have this much snow. We are already working around the clock, so clearing another 1/3 off off everything would be incredibly time consuming and in my opinion fairly wasteful. At this point we are just looking for access to houses
