  • Using my Autel IM508 to program Autel universal iKey. This is my first time programming the key and adjusting the buttons function using the IM508. You should be able to do this with the IM608 as well. Special guest and self invited jerk Dexter the cat.

Can I use IM508 to program universal smart keys just like KM100 for on same cars? I am new to KM 100, and I believe it is good for mostly universal smart key programming. Can it work for any cars, Japanese, US, Korean, or even some European cars?

Yes but limited to what their availability is for programming. It’s not every model and make. But there is good coverage with lots of vehicles

Hello, thanks for the video. I have a question, is it possible to purchase the 7-button key and then assign, for example, only two buttons, or do you need the key to have the buttons of each type of key?

You could do that in the button function selection. Just turning those buttons off. You can also make the buttons do other functions that what they are labeled.

Keys can easily be reprogrammed to a different vehicle. They don’t need to be sent in to be unlocked.

Yes it can be reused without needed to unlock. Just program it again.

So question for you. How do you like the km100? I was looking at the programmer that clk just had up on one of their last videos (the autek), and someone commented that I shouldn't get that one, but get the km100 instead... what are your thoughts on that key programmer?

I don’t have the KM100. Just the IM508. They work the same but the IM508 has more programming functions.

@@firefighter1241 This is a little late to the party but Autel recently updated the XP200 to support universal keys, I verified this after plugging in the XP200 then a firmware update happened and I have made universal keys with that and my XP400pro. Just wanted to let you know. :)

Is there a way to program it without the updates because mines don’t give the universal remote option

IF the car had remote start from the factory. 6:14/min:sec. In hindsight, did it work ?

Does im508 the ability to unlock the OEM key ?

Better off getting a mini key tool for about $100 if you want to do that. It’s also a good cloner and can set up the Xhorse universal keys to work with a variety of vehicles.

Could you name a specific tool for this?
Also are you still strong with the im508+xp400pro? @firefighter1241

@@X302smokedyou Not anymore, the XP200 has been given a firmware update to support this function. Oddly enough the menu states that an XP400 is needed but the XP200 successfully generates universal keys now.
