The church is absolutely gorgeous. They built it with love. The Consecration was beautiful. Never saw anything like this in my lifetime and have been a Catholic for 65 years.

You can offer Mass anywhere, but a Church is constructed to house the Blessed Sacrament, and a place worthy of the dwelling of Jesus Christ, and separate from the world, a dwelling of Prayer and Worship.

For those that think $42 million is a lot of a money for a building, it’s helpful to keep in mind that the Willard Bridge, a small project to the south of Saint Marys, was completed recently for about $25 million. Given the choice between the largest church in Kansas where all are welcome to come and worship or two bridges, I’d choose the church every time.

The church was designed according to the tradition of the ancient basilicas in Rome, and elsewhere, which have free standing altars. This was the older arrangement, before altars were placed against walls, or Reredos. The SSPX issued videos explaining their decision to have such an altar, in the Immaculata.

Even the pontifical counsels have declared the SSPX is not in schism.
Why doesn’t the church understand the people want the traditional form. That’s what we want.
