I'm so impressed that he managed to run well under 2:30 considering how things were, but yes it's not "good enough" for him and not what he trained for!
Nice work on the video, Chloe! And kudos to Ben for the game effort. Two minutes off a PB might as well be two seconds. As you said, the fitness is there. I hope you're both recovering well from the big day.😆And it's great to hear that your 10k training is going according to plan.
Thank you!! Considering that we were so close to cancelling the trip, it was a relief that he made it to the finish line but definitely not in the time he had trained for. That's the risk with marathon training, a niggle can really crash the party. Hopefully he'll put the fitness to good use in a Spring marathon!
Great running Ben, well done. 😀 These injuries when they appear just before events are so cruel. Hopefully not be too long recovering, good luck with your next one. They soon come around again.
There's never a good time to get niggles/injuries but as you say, just before an event is really frustrating! Thanks for watching and yes he's got his eyes set on a couple marathons next year!
Great insight into this beautiful marathon! Celebrate 02:26 for Ben, it's a great achievement🇪🇸🏅 Thank you for sharing Chloe 😊
Thanks for watching! Yes it's a great finish time, and one I can only dream of 😆 but slightly short of Ben's goal for this race!
@@ChloeHamard haha lol! Same, struggling for BQ atm!
So close. Still a rapid time, but I'm sure that's not much consolation. Come back stronger, Ben 👍🏃♂️

Thanks!
Great video Chloe. Ben will come back stronger. 2025 will be the best year for you both 🙂
Thank you for watching and the kind words!
Sorry it wasn't Ben's day. He's a class runner and will come back strong.
He sure will, fingers crossed he can be back running pain free soon!
