Good luck. I did one. The tomatoes hid under the bucket and never got out into the sun. I considered it a fun project but a total fail. I hope yours work out better. My climate has extremely strong summer sun.
I hear that... my summers are brutal, that's why I wanted to get a jump on this project early. I'll keep everyone posted to the status of this Tomato plant. 🤞🤞🤞
I found your channel through next level homestead. Anyway, mine is shady field homestead and I’ve been watching next level gardening for about six years. We started our around then. By the way, I’m retired Coast Guard and jumped into this as well. I’ve been wanting to try the upside down tomatoes for a while but I just haven’t gotten around to it. There just seems to be way too much going on. We’ll keep us updated on the progress of this. We are in south Alabama
Hey, welcome to the channel and thank you for your service🇺🇸 I wanted to do that experiment last year, but I never was able to get around to it. It's been hanging out there for a few days now and it's doing really well so far. 🤗🤗
It's great that you are curious and experimenting! I tried once and it wasn't very successful. You're trying to have nature work against it, it's genetics. Remember roots grow down and not up. Overtime I think you'll find the handles will give out due to water and weight of the tomato plant. If you want a tomato plant in a hanging pot try a Tumbling variety like Tumbling Tom. I have several container tomatoes that are compact tomatoes and they all do well.

That was my idea also, seeing everything going on, to a point, inside the bucket. 🤗
