8:00 Correction: ~3kg CO2-eq, not 2.1kg. 10:05 Clarification: the section intends to compare the emissions from avocados and coffee. Just like vegans also drink coffee, majority of avocados are consumed by nonvegans.
Great video! If you could put links in the description for the sources you cited in the video, it would really help a lot. That way, I could link to your video in the UA-cam comments for other videos and convince others in debates on the subject. UA-cam now has a policy of auto deleting all new comments that include links to anything other than UA-cam videos.
Your channel is really high quality! Both really good editing/filming and in terms of content. I enjoy how you have an approach to recipes and ore serious aspects of veganism. Just subscribed :)
That is absolutely right, those would be two separate aspects of veganism, but there are of course overlaps. Public health is a big one, antibiotic resistance & zoonotic diseases, etc. Thank you for watching!
This video was amazing, I always appreciate how much time and research you do for your videos! I've saved it to a playlist I have on my channel because it's so helpful. I'm far too lazy to research everything as thoroughly as you. 😂 I always wondered why people use almonds and avocados as an argument against veganism, something didn't add up for me. It seems like they use it as an excuse to justify their own inactions. It's good to see that actually when you look at the big picture, some parts of the food system for the West are indeed flawed, however a plant based diet is better environmentally.
I enjoyed doing the research for this one particularly 😄 Exactly. There’s no denying that avocados aren’t the best food but using that as an argument against a plant based diet just doesn’t make sense as the majority of avocados is consumed by non vegans anyways😅 Yes, no food system is perfect or will be that’s why we need to choose the best option available! Thank you as always Damaris!
Thank you for your suggestion! That is for sure a possible topic to be covered. I’m going to make a video on food waste in the near future, if that’s interesting to you!
so ships for shipping foods around the globe release negligible emissions, but fishing ships emit massively enormous emissions? Very interesting theory
You sound like my dad before he got sick. He's healthy now thankfully and hasn't had meat in almost 7 months--still don't believe it. Anyway have a good one
@@scrane5500 i’m glad your father is healthy now, even if it’s at the expense of the planet. Kind of surprising news though, because vegans are usually a very sickly bunch. Almost 2 million years of human evolution show that humans should be eating primarily meat. Your father was probably sick not because of meat, but because of seed oils, sugars, and other highly processed vegetable products.
Please watch the video. And remember that animals eat food for months or years before they become food... So what we need to do is eat the crops directly. Not feed them to other animals for months first and waste all those resources.
You sound just like my dad before he got sick--called plant based foods garbage. He's healthy now thankfully and hasn't had meat in almost 7 months-never imagined! Anyway have a good one

one or two ovocados per month
10 cups of coffee but nearly no avocado's in averageaybe 0.25 a week
Fantastic video!! Can’t wait to share!!

Thank you so much🙏 I’m pleased to hear you find my channel insightful!
Great video! Funny to think this is only the enviromental argument for veganism, when there is health and ethical side of things to consider as well.

Excellent video. Could you share the links to the publications you have utilized as sources of presented data?

Proponents of veganism love to omit the environmental impact of artificial fertilization, tillage, and mono cropping.
isn’t that a main thing the video discusses? did you even watch before commenting?

great video, thank you. You talk quickly though, one needs to focus :)

Did you watch the video? Animals eat crops every day for months or years before they become food. So eating crops directly is what's going to save us.
