@@ellis7622 True, but Spooky has said the exact same thing in other matches with KBR specifically lmao particularly the one with the Frieza cosplay in the background.

Yeah I remember Fooblat being on the weekly streams and loving his all-in style, just like KBR. I think this was after the weekly tournament and it was way more hype than the actual tourney lol.
This shit gave me goodebumps listening to the beginning of this. I've always said, KBR vs Fooblat is one of the greatest long sets ever. So glad you made this video. Definitely gonna throw this on twitter

Analize Kusoru. I remember he killed everyone when he showed up like a assasin alien anime from Japan. I remember the face of filipino champ on one match when Kusoru killed Ryan's Dark Phoenix, and Ryan's face was sooo confused. To me that is the most epic moment in UMVC3 history..
KBR developed this tem to perfection, and you can tell his early testing days with sentinel punch assist. Sentinel missiles pushed him over the edge and got him crowned, so can someone tell Tong to stop being such a bonehead and switch to missiles?
I've never played Marvel ever in my life, I've only really watched people play it, but I just watched 10 minutes of a video about it, what an amazing game lol
Damn, really good match. Kbr beating f champ also was good. I remember, he shook that ft10 loss from the day b4 and beat f champ in the grand final the day after.
I will dearly miss this game. The amount of hours of enterainment I put into this was enjoyable. I miss the flahy combos, super high speed combat, fast reactions, very interesting character roster. For me UMVC3 so far is the greates 2D fighting game for what it represents. It had the visuals which makes the characters look like comic characters, have one of the most amazing combo systems and interesting yet ridiculous mechanics like X-factor, dark phoenix, Phoneix right lv3. And yes, Vergil. I remember watching the evo for marvel. The hype was on another level. I wish capcom would make a true UMVC4 or something. Infinite is a game that flopped harder than life.
What i hated about meta is that almost everyone used teams with same structure: Point character who will TODC, a character for TAC and a cheap character for XF lvl 3. But KBR, this man found the perfect synergy, no matter which one went first, no matter which one was killed first, his team was and still is really solid.
I know maybe the fandom does not translate well between the two but some of the best college football games are played by two small schools on a random Saturday. I love those games just like I like these types of matchups.
@@ellis7622 I'd agree, felt he was solid, sure he was no yipes, but then again who was? He also had pretty good understanding of marvel+sf4, which wasn't always something you got during that time. A lot of times commentators were maybe 1 person who actually played the game then 1 person that didn't, or had very basic knowledge. Meanwhile Ski was able to keep up with things pretty handedly. I'd take ski 100/100 times over the people who only made jokes and had nothing to really comment on when it came to matches.
@@chimpmasterflex agree 100%. I always figured he must’ve pissed someone off that held a lot of sway and had a lot of friends in the FGC. That’s the only thing that ever made sense to me. I remember I asked someone one time why they hated ski’s commentary and they said his voice is annoying which to me just seems like an obvious cop out.
7:59 is not a read on the level 3. Haggar lariat is more invincible than either his own lvl 1 or lvl 3 and kane had Xfactor, so whether the lariat was blocked or hit air or ground, Kane was gonna pop it. Also, the left right mixup with lariat is a well known tactic throughout all of marvel (call assist and cross under or not on incoming) and works with many different teams, perhaps most infamously psylocke or dante assists. Against teams with this kind of mixup, no high level player is thinking about switching their block at the last second. This mixup is known to be unreactable so if you don't have an invincible air option like harddrive, you are actually just guessing left or right on incoming and holding that direction. If you try to react and switch block at the last second, you are running the risk of getting caught in the frame/s while you are holding neutral so if you have to guess anyway, it is better to not leave that opening.
