I got my windows tinted today by a guy who actually took a course from you. When I saw his picture with you on his site, I knew that’s where I wanted to go
I have been tinting for 15 years now. Started after serving 10 years in the infantry. I think I fought the tint more when I first learned than any battle. Like I was pushing off a grizzly 😂😂.
I need to come take one of these classes but I don't wanna go to Detroit 😂did my first tint job yesterday shrunk it got all the bubbles out but I left the back window, no matter how many times I tried I always fucked the back window up. Gonna learn wet shrinking dry shrinking just isn't working for me.
A quick question, where did you get the protection drop plastic from? The clear plastic you put on the door trim to prevent water getting onto the door. Thanks so much!
I love all these videos I find them very helpful my only real question is, is it ok to tint outside as I do not have a garage or anything but direct sunlight
You can but quality control becomes an issue. When you are in a shop with peel board you can offer a much cleaner job than peeling off a dirty car in the wind.
@StrainingDingelberry light creases since wind isn't your friend. But I've done a fantastic job.. tinting for a couple years nothing crazy .. not many car either; just the ones I've pretty much owned that didn't come tinted
@@Hogib35 nice. It’s a good skill to have. I started tinting when I was 16 at my dads shop, im 32 now and no longer tint full time but I still take on a few side jobs every week. It’s quick easy money so I’ll probably never stop doing it. Sounds like you could get a little side hustle going if you are comfortable with it.
Not a tinter or do this as a career just attempted my own car but I tried doing it it outside and man was it a pain and the wind was only 5mph. I pulled it into the garage and everything went smoother
I took a 3- day course last year. I had no tinting experience prior. They just taught me the basics. How to hand cut, install and shrink. How to do the 2 step method. Bottom load etc. Let me have unlimited tries on a practice car as well. But if you already know all that there isn’t no point in taking a class in my opinion. Since you’re doing 1-2 cars a day I figure you already know how to do all that
I remember when I touched my first piece if someone recorded me the first guy is how I probably looked also , now I mistreat it and install with no hassle 🫡
@@catking4639 I got the hang of it in a month but got decent including shrinking the back windows on cars in about 6-8 months but I do it on a daily basis
I don’t normally comment. This channel made me consider taking a tint class nearby. I took an Avery tint class last month and absolutely loved it. it gave me a great base for hands on learning. We’ve done six cars at this point and our quality of work gets better each time. Less contaminants, better placement no light gaps. You inspired me to try it out- and furthermore start posting some details I do! So, thanks for that!
I bought 2 rolls of tint and taught myself watching your videos and few other tinting channels. I’ve done 2 vehicles so far and they came out great!
Cool. How much did you charge them for each vehicle?
@@HEADBANGRR I did them for free since they were my family members vehicles
I’ll probably charge $30 per window on a real customer
@@bennysanchez96 Cool. $30 per window is pretty cheap. I'm planning on going higher than that if it's per window
@@HEADBANGRR Iim only doing it cheap because I know I’m not that good yet and I don’t have a lot of clientele
@@bennysanchez96 understood. One way to look at it: if your work is NOT great, the client might say well I at least I only paid x amount
I’m 45 years old, I’ve got a decent job but I’d rather be working in Detroit in tint with you 🙏🏼👍🏻

You seem like a great teacher, Matt! I've been seriously considering a class before next "tint season" lol...
What do you mean tint season? Is it bad to do it in the winter or something???

I'm 51, just sold my restaurant in Vegas, moving to SD and learn tinting. Can't wait to start.

this video is great, you should do more of these, as a beginner it really highlights some mistakes that i made too
We’ll. Perfect video to show someone how to two stage!
Great video I have been wanting to get Into the auto industry but have no place that will hire me and teach me at the same time

is it worth taking a class as someone like me thats tinted just by experience for 2 years now and doing 1 to 2 cars a day

What color film do you usually use to match factory glass?
20%
@@MrGonzales1982 I figured that. I meant like charcoal or black in color
@Rmz250ryder personally I think dyed film looks more like the factory color, because charcoal has a slight yellow look to it.

any prep work on the window....gone
Meh, doesn't affect anything. That type material doesn't create any static really. He's fine. I tint with fleece jacket on during winter time.
Try and get me to take my jacket off in Kentucky in the winter. You will be fine. It’s all in the handling.
