    What a brilliant collection of your favourite marseille decks!! The Gassman is absolutely gorgeous, I love the colours!! I definitely prefer the more modern decks that veer away from the strong red and blue colours. But I'm just venturing into tdm, so maybe I'll change my mind! 😄 I have the new choice tdm, which I think is gorgeous, and tarot noir is on the way to me - I can't wait! 😄
    Thank you for sharing! I'll have to catch up on your other tdm videos! 😄😍🙏

      Thank you so much for watching & your lovely comment @Celtic Roots Tarot ! ✨🙏✨
      It always brings me so much joy when I hear more and more of our community members are ‘venturing’ into Marseille Tarot!😘♥️
      When I bought my first TdM deck, I just new I found my tarot lineage! I do like RWS, too, and am learning Thoth this year, but TdM is my #1! 🥰
      I don’t have the New Choice Tarot, but yes, it truly is beautiful and has the most gorgeous colours and flower patterns!
      Tarot Noir! That one I have had for a while! It’s a stunning stunning Tarot de Marseille!🖤

    A beautiful selection - not that I'm surprised! 😄 I love my Classic Tarot! There is something about that deck that warms my heart. I'm with you on the Spanish Tarot and Aux Arcs. I will never part with them. I recently viewed Tom B's walkthrough of the Gassmann. O-OH!! I think I'm in love! As for that delightful mini-deck you presented at the end.... 🥰🤩🌈
    Thank you for sharing as always, my friend. Hope to see you soon! xx

    Nice collection Mascha. I’m not well versed in TDM enough to decipher historical/reproduced/etc however I know that I lean more towards Marseille decks that have the cherub with blindfolds on in the Lovers card and the face in the devil’s torso on the devil card and the hanged man sticking out his tongue. I have no idea why this weighs on my options with TDM but it does. I like the Magician with dice, only recently has it become a thing, and that’s because I like that “chance” is also a possibility, you can choose to leave it up to chance or use the tools to help etch into your “fate”. Now between you and Mendy, my temptation to get the Gassman is heightened. Mendy pointing out the “hairy legged devil” and the color palette. Thanks for sharing.

      Essence818 Hello beautiful Neem! Thank you so much for watching! 😘♥️
      Yes! Me too! I also do prefer the Devil with the eyes in the belly and the blindfolded cherub!
      I agree about the dice, plus I also just simply like dice! 🥰
      Yes, both Gassman and the little Heri are delightful!
      Sending much love and light your way, my friend! ♥️

    Omg my Marseille sista! I watched these videos about Marseille favorites so many times! And love every minute. 😉 have you seen the new mini Marseille from amazon? I thought of you when I bought it because it’s a mini deck and the box is not a tin, but a hard box that is perfect for travel! Called Tarot of Marseilles mini 🖤🖤🖤 my new favorite. ☺️ Also the ISIS TDM is another one that is a great reader. They added bubbles and a bee on some cards. (I will not say anymore so you can be surprised if you get it). Lol.

      Oh yes, I saw your post with a pic of the Mini Marseille Tarot at the Hermit's Cave FB Group! It looks beautiful, and I will be checking out whether it is available for the Australian market! I love smaller decks! Both for carrying them around and my smaller hands!
      I can not wait for my ISIS tarot to arrive, although it is a bit delayed due to restrictions of the postal services from Japan! But I', very excited about bees, and have to thank you for the inspiration - Tania Made Me Do It! 😉

    It’s always so much fun to see yummy Tarots de Marseille. I have the Gassmann and Heri 1730 on the way because of yours and Mendy’s videos on them. I know those will be fast favorites, especially the Gassmann with its beautiful colors. My top favorite TdM is a vintage copy of the Grimaud Ancien TdM. It’s not my favorite because of its beauty or its faithfulness to any one historical deck, but because my husband (who knows nothing about Tarot) surprised me with it one year for my birthday. It’s a deck that I will always treasure because of that.

      @@musingsbymascha I've become rather disenchanted with the newer RWS decks coming out and thats why I turned towards the TdM. I used to think they all looked alike but I've found that each Marseille deck is a bit different. Maybe you can answer a question: I noticed the Noblet is sort of an in-between deck: it has elements of the Marseille and some of the Besancon. Is there any thing you may have read as to why this is? Thank you

    • @musingsbymascha
      @musingsbymascha  2 роки тому +1

      @@dawndonivan3089 it’s such a good question! 🥰 To me Jean Noblet has always been a Tarot de Marseille deck of its own, and I consider it the earliest remaining TdM. But then it came from Paris too & I think that the card maker/engraver had great sense of humour.
      When it comes to Besancon tarot decks, I see the strong similarity to Noblet (possibly the influence of Noblet) only in the little Heri 1730 in many cards! But then we see the Swiss “hairy” Devil in the Heri & I adore him! 😈
      And yes, I so agree with you Dawn! Each Marseille deck IS different and they all fascinate me! ♥️

    Interesting! Your Tarot Classic is packaged differently than mine, which has US Games distribution information (printed by AGM). Also, thank you for sharing that version of Trionfi Della Luna. I love the sweet faces and coloration in the Mamanyuki, which I own in the full-size version. But I generally prefer Type 1 for the intimations of chance (blind cupid) and other small differences. For everyday usage I use the Spanish Tarot because it's very good, good card stock, and very inexpensive, so it can easily be replaced.
    Pablo Robledo's tarot is on top of my list to get, but there is no stock available right now because of the pandemic.
    The other two Marseille decks that intrigue me are Le Tarot de Marseille Edition Millennium (the sacred geometry basis is unsupported nonsense, but it's a beautifully-designed deck anyway), and Le Véritable Tarot de Marseille by Kris Hadar.

      Yes, I adore Mamanyuki tarot, I only have a mini, and it is truly a very sweet tarot!💖
      I must admit, I agree with you on the subject of sacred geometry in Marseille Tarot ! 🤷‍♀️ But like you, I find Marseille millennium very attractive & look forward to its release in smaller size soon!
      Kris Hadar deck looks nice, too!

    I have recently fallen in love with the Tarot de Marseilles Millennium. I think that will be my next TDM purchase. It was between the Dodal and Noblet and I still love those two, but I love the extra sacred geometric influence the millennium tdm showcases. The colors and touched up approach is attractive as well cause I can use it as a study deck. My Piatnik TDM is not good for study as some of the line work has been rubbed off and such, making the millennium a good choice to add to my small collection of decks.

    The Tarot Classic is based on Claude Burdel’s deck

    • @musingsbymascha
      @musingsbymascha  4 роки тому +1

      @Tarot Your Truth , thank you so much for watching! And how exciting you have many of the same tarots! What are your most favourites, lovely Jade?
      I do not see The Tarot Classic being based on Claude Burdel's deck though, although I do see a very strong swiss influence on Tarot Classic, possibly some of the C.Burdel Tarot, but not all. I'm talking here about the Hanged Man, Devil and Ace of Cups cards, to give an example. I do show why I thought Tarot Classic was modeled after Gassman tarot (or a similar tarot I am not aware of) in this video.
      However (and I have not spent enough time to research it), I am reasonably confident that earliser Swiss Tarots, like Claude Burdel 1751, influenced the later Swiss Decks, like Gassman 1840! Thank you for that tip, Jade! :)

    • @tarot_by_nature
      @tarot_by_nature 4 роки тому +1

      Musings by Mascha I’m having a hard time deciding between Claude Burdel, Gassman and Heri!
      I definitely see where you see the resemblance- I’m about to post a video showing several decks side by side - the Burdels (Claude and Jacques) and the Gassman have a lot in common! I had the same initial reaction as you but then had to laugh when I actually read the back of the box on Tarot Classic a few weeks ago (indicates it’s influenced by the original woodcuts of the C, Burdel deck 😝 )...Swiss influences make sense when we also note it was created in cooperation with ACMueller.

      Sadly, Pablo's decks are not the easiest to come about! Pablo Robledo's Dodal, Vandenborre and Besacon are currently available from Kartograme , but hence they are hand-crafted and handmade, they are pricey.
