i use a leica on a daily basis and it doesnt look like that. it looks more like your amscope.
i have the feeling for just 1600$ you get toy grade stuff from leica. I work in a lab and the high end leica stuff is dope.
But it has nothing to do with the black thingy you are reviewing...
Edit: Furthermore the Eyepieces i use are switchable like the ones from your amscope, and its a standart formfactor, they are switchable with our Carl Zeiss Microscopes for example.
No idea what leica is doing on the prosumer market but this looks like a totally different brand to me, not the leica i am used to !!!

The cats of the world are thankful for the review. These tools help the flat butt warmers with strange black squares continue working so it can stay warm. The butt warmer also has the added benefit that lying on it, calls upon the attention of the servant which again means it's of utmost importance that it will continue working.

The problem that Paul explains about the Leica double image sounds like he didn't adjust the interpupillary distance for his eyes. That's some basic thing in using a stereo microscope.

I believe you guys have no idea of the impact you have done to the global repair industry, you have all of us scrambling all over the world buying the tools you use for the reasons you give, I for one, am going through all the lengths required to import an Amscope microscope to my country, lots of weight to deal with that heavily increase import costs by the way
Hey Louis, buy some high CRI (90+) 3000K-4000K led strips that has matching led chips with the ones on your amscope, and replace them! You can definitely buy bare chips but the high CRI strips are easier to reliably find on amazon and aliexpress. I should also warn you that generally cold/pure white (~6000K) are recommended in workplaces to keep you awake and concentrated, but also warm light is much more easier to the eyes. CRI rating is a little bit luxury for your application since you dont do any color sensitive work but that luxury doesnt come at a great expense so why not.

This is actually one of the budget Leica scopes.
The eyepieces are fixed (you can not swap them)
The 3D image effect you are seeing is likely due to incorrectly set interpupilary distance (see manual here: www.leica-microsystems.com/fileadmin/downloads/Leica%20A60%20S/User%20Manuals/Leica_A60S_Manual_EN.pdf)
If camera is important there are modular systems available which would suit much better and give you full flexibility over objectives, stands and cameras, including wireless options that will stream directly do your iPad or phone and do not require a trinocular head.
Contact your dealer or better Leica directly and they will take you through all options.

That flat image is all I ever see. Blind in my left eye. So I use two different magnifications in my scope. It is something i have to get used to working with because I don't have the parallax vision. I have the single arm AM scope and haven't found it unstable at all.
To me there is no comparison, the AmScope is superior in every way including price. Thanks for the review guys, keep up the great vids.
Paul has a real good focus on being economical. That is a nice quality to have in an employee.
I think the AmScope suffers from chromatic aberration away from the center of image. The Leica image looks much better. But the Leica's stand, boom, and head adjustment design is lacking. IMO

Just looking at the build quality of the Amscope versus the Leica, and I know immediately which one I would rather purchase. The price difference is just a bonus. The thing about Leica is that they're a boutique optics company, and they have a pretty well deserved reputation for outstanding optics. However, I do feel that they are often selling the Leica name rather than offering a decent value proposition. And they tend to place a premium on their name.
It seems that the AmScope is better in nearly every way. The stand snuffs the Lieca, the price is way better, the image itself isn't that much better. Idk I dont use them everyday but the superior boom stand and the trinoc port sells me on the AmScope.

That is paid what would you say if it is not paid lol i appreciate your honesty, i guess leica has microscope head with full hd camera installed inside with super sharp high quality image
I had the same problem with the double image with the amscope. It turned out to be the head was at an angle and once I leveled the head, the double vision went away.
You can get better 3D-depth image on Amscope by using 0,7 Barlow Lens instead of 0,5. Of course the working distance will be reduced but for me remains sufficient plus you have much beter depth.
The lieca looked like a better picture it was more clear. But that bar on it looks crappie couldnt they use some type of hydraulic system so you can just push and pull into place without the tightening nobs
The Leica looks better through the eyepiece at least from what you're recording. Looks like you guys would prefer the A60 F with the flex arm instead of the swing arm S model.

If you get a better arm you'll be using it the most. The strain on the eyes is critical if you are doing micro work full time.
Leica is a better microscope hands down. The image quality is superior. I have Leica microscopes at work.
I forgot to mention that I have an Amscope SM745TP at home and it's terrible compared to Leica in terms of fatigue and clarity. Of course the microscopes we use at work are Leica MZ6(older model).

You do electronic repair put warmer LEDs in the light you have. They are easy to install and cheap. Big Clive is my go to spot for dumb duh fixes like this.

I don't think it is balls so much as it is perhaps a marketing department that hasn't done a lot of research.
I use a microscope for work everyday that I recommend that is virtually the same quality, better stand, plus a trinocular port that costs $1000 less. It would not have taken a lot of work to figure out how we would see the two.
leica has clear image, by amscope i saw blur on the right side.
Speaking of 3d, if you could somehow put cameras on each eyepiece and make little vr type repair videos it would be quite novel. Waste of time, sure, but who else does it?

Google is not giving enough bandwidth to this channel. It's impossible to watch this in greater than 140 without it constantly studdering. I notice a few other channels that do this. they do it consistently. No problems on any other higher traffic channels.

Leica camera are always more expensive. I would not expect a cheap price for their microscope from them. That being said, they like the market themselves as a selling simple to use devices.
