    Cats , Great liveaboards & nice in good climates BUT after 50+ years of sailing , Cats , Trys , Monos I can honestly say the only times iv had to change my undies were on cat deliveries , Twice in the Pacific & once in the Malaccan strait . Both times in a quick change in weather & once when both engines got fouled in a net crossing a shipping lane , A very busy shipping lane - Horses for courses .

      I think that cat drivers need to be much better sailors that mono drivers. Mono drivers of a SM or like sailboat can make many mistakes and still arrive safely in port. But, put the same "sailor" in a cat, and making it safely into port may be questionable. Opinions, just opinions. All the best, and glad you made it into port safely! Ken

    They know their boat real well. A very well built boat with attention to useful sailing details.
    I don't think this couple will ever want to sell their cat!
    Excellent tour and interesting to watch.
    Thank you and God Bless!

      This Cat is for sale, but will be hard to sell it in the year of Covid. Verite is a well maintained boat and is ready for any crossing. It was sad to hear that Greg and Wendy were looking at selling their home. Fair Winds

    I really enjoy the boat tours. I love all boats because I love being on the water. The Catana is beautiful and comfortable, but my head starts spinning when I think about the number of systems and maintenance required. I’m old school and believe, keep it simple stupid. Keep em coming! 👍👍👍

    Hello everyone, I have a question about The Verite, What would you think it is worth right now? I have sailed with my stepdad on a 32` Hunter, and really like the cat, because of the room, and sitting up, than leaning over. I`m not sure i could sail one alone? TGIF playing golf with my buddies in the am tomorrow.....here`s to a good IPA!!!

    • @SailingAquarius
      @SailingAquarius  2 роки тому

      Hi Mike, I am not sure what Verite is worth, but it did sell in Thailand about a year ago. Might be better just to look up boats on Yachtworld.com. But, Verite was well maintained, and would think it would be more valuable than the average Cat of the same make and model. Markets change month to month, and I am no expert on CATS... Cheers and hope you shoot 1 under like Tiger a few days ago. Ken

      I like Aquarius too, but Verite is a very nice Blue Water Cat. And a 50' Cat has 3X the space. There are only a few boat companies that build true blue water Cats, and Catana is one of them. Ken

    Hi Ken, so if Greg uses the dagger boards sailing down wind to help auto pilot keep on track and also to point higher up wind, does this mean when ever depth of water is OK, he sails with them down.

    • @SailingAquarius
      @SailingAquarius  4 роки тому

      Hi Mark, Greg would never keep the Dagger Boards down if entering any shallow area. Fair Winds

      Sailing Aquarius Around The World. I’ll try this again, At no stage of sailing, up or down wind he would have the dagger boards up, apart from shallow water. So they are a must have.

    The catamaran spaciousness, amenities, stability, etc. is just wonderful but, most catamarans spend all of their time in a harbor. Effectively it's a houseboat. On the open ocean the fact remains that a catamaran is perched on top of the water and not IN the water like a monohull. Only a catamaran can be seen upside down after a bit of rough weather. A monohull can be knocked down but it will always right itself. You sail a monohull because you're IN the water and can feel what's going on all the time. You operate a catamaran as it slides on top of the water. I could never trust a catamaran! Women prefer catamarans, but sailors prefer monohulls!

    • @SailingAquarius
      @SailingAquarius  4 роки тому +1

      Well said!

    • @Starmania_FR
      @Starmania_FR 4 роки тому +1

      No, there are real sailors who prefer catamarans. Catamarans can overturn but we have seen a lot of monohulls sink. And large, well-handled catamarans never turn around.

      @@Starmania_FR - Well, I'm not going to be making any changes where I live on the Utah/Arizona border, far from any yacht clubs.
