The funniest thing about herons is once they have wounded their prey, they drop it to the ground, take a step back and forcefully hit back at it for a final blow. That gets me every single time! Hilarious!
When I see this amazing predator hunting it become so clear to me how, most likely, T-rex and other theropods dinosaurs used to kill their preys. Most paleontologists agree that they did not chase their prey but rather ambush them. In fact they were too heavy to move too fast. Well...watching these vicious killers hunting, it's not hard for me to believe them.
The beginning of the video when all the chipmunks see the bird and scramble at the same time reminded me of playing baseball in the street when someone yells out CAR!
Yeah, they don't have hands, but they certainly DO have incredible "beak-eye coordination". I'm just shocked that chipmunk was so careless that it let a large predator get that close to it.
There's a heron that comes to wade in my back yard every day. For the most part it sticks to the water and catches fish. But occasionally it walks around, even going on the street, and now I know why.
The circle of life, only the strong survive. Dog eat dog. No mercy, no compassion. But this world will soon end. 15. For He(God)says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion.” Roman's 9:15. But what about those on which He will NOT have mercy on, the unbelievers? 😟
LoL that Chipmunk was tough gotta give the lil guy credit, he wanted to live was amazing how much effort he put into trying to escape...He lost all his stamina tho and he doesn't know just playing like you're easy prey like when the Heron laid the Chipmunk down had he had the stamina he could of tried his best to bolt LoL.
Usually when I saw a heron I found it very risible seeing it standing in cold water for hours to catch a fish.. After seeing this, I feel humbled.. From now on the heron will be for me the symbol of judgement error.
never change your quarry. Once youve set your sights on one, if you break concentration to go after a better one, you'll end up going home with nothing.
There must come a point in every heron's hunt when they think to themselves "oh, dear - why did I catch this!" And "what the hell am I going to do with it now?"
Blue heron's.... Gerakkan kaki nya sangat cepat ... kecepatan nya sangat tinggi dlm mengejar mangsa ... mata nya sangat tajam ... MoncOng nya sangat kuat menekuk nekuk mangsa . ... sampai mati ...
Love the music, it doesn't go with the video but it's great. It sounds more like to be in an Italian sidewalk cafe watching people walking by on a spring afternoon.
Mother Nature sure is an evil, heartless bitch. Let's see Disney make that into a smarmy, unrealistic cartoon featuring Chippy, the adorable, precocious chipmunk.
Nice action. However, you will do better if you don't continually zoom in and out and stay still. It took you a few minutes to settle on distance and focal length. Keep practicing and you will improve on that. Good luck.
The heron did not pay attention to the big chimp. He took the baby. It's also getarnt as the same as the nature, so it is invisible for the poor small animals. THX camera people for the introduction of the real and cruel nature
@@afshintayarani1632 No, it’s fine. My point is simply that the chipmunk is a different species than squirrels. I also don’t think a heron could subdue a squirrel. The chipmunk almost got away until it’s back was broken, but a squirrel is twice as large.

This is basically a dinosaur hunting and catching its prey. Pay attention Jurassic world
Velociraptor springs to mind.
I love the music, what is it??
"Better Chip or Dale than me." - Squirrel

Chipmunk went out LIKE A G!
Amazing how they can flip their prey around in the air from back to head

It is trying to break the prey's neck.
This is the first video where I have seen a heron hunt a squirrel.I always thought these birds were only fish hunters 😮😮🙄🙄
this bird is very intelligent wow.
Love the music, must be an Italian Herron
the music is actually japanese
He's got an offah you can't refuse
Loved the music, more than the video. Please share the music link.

great music choice
"Chipmunk" it's what's for dinner.
soundtrack Carlo Rustichelli - La Ragazza Di Bube
I love watching those Herons
Nature at its best. Amezing how that little guy fought until the end.
She has children to feed, if she is not able to provide enough food for them, she'll have to kill one of them🤷🏾♀️
Your selection of BGM is in a different level, maybe that’s the reason why it’s on my recommendation list...
The beak stab was fatal.
The modern day T-rex. Herons eat anything.

What's with the French Noir music?

The beak is like a long jab.The beak is very effective because its hard as a bone. The chipmunk couldnt do anything.
Amazing !! I love these stalking hunters. He has his sights locked on to one chipmunk and walks straight past the other one lol...😃👍
How long will dinos keep terrorizing mammals?
1:47 Strange how the heron ignores the squirrel. It must have had its mind set on catching the chipmunk.

He isn't an opportunist
Maybe the squirrel was too big for it to swallow.
@@michaeledwards1172 The heron could easily swallow the squirrel.
There must come a point in every heron's hunt when they think to themselves "oh, dear - why did I catch this!" And "what the hell am I going to do with it now?"
Has to be so annoying not being able to easily kill your prey
Right? Every prey item it sees it just says to itself "I know I can eat you now let me figure out how".
O how I love herons. We should learn how to do a clean job from start to finish.
What a lovely Nature

The little one did put up a good fight but the second shot at 4.18 finished him
Nice video!
Why does the music sound like something from the Godfather?
Great, awesome background music.
What is the music from?
What was the purpose of the opening shots of a different heron?
if someone narrate this in a macho sexy voice, it will be just like the old detective/P.I scene hehe
So sad for the chipmunks. Two chipmunks lived in our yard for 5 years. Until the heron came out of the pond today and ate the 2 chipmunks 🥲
Love the music, it doesn't go with the video but it's great. It sounds more like to be in an Italian sidewalk cafe watching people walking by on a spring afternoon.
the name of the soundtrack?
Vale ¿por qué la música de mujer sensual entrando al despacho del detective?
That bird can come to my yard and eat all the rodents that it wants.
That's cruel!!
@@arnoldjack7956 Ducks and Geese are cute too but is it cruel to eat poultry? Im never going vegan.
Now I'm going to have nightmares about herons.
Heron evolving into a bird of prey I guess mammals are tastier than fish
Variety is the spice of life. 😆
Music was perfect
Damn, the background music is so depressing.
집에 와서 다시 봤습니다 ^^ 영상 음악 모두 좋습니다 ^^
wow that one put up a fight... a long one... I guess they have a lot of stamina...
Watching herons eating is so much fun.
you might be a psychopath....
Watching idiots getting Whacked is even more fun, and oh look 'a idiot'!!! 👈🤡
This is how Alvin and the Chipmunks ended.
Mother Nature sure is an evil, heartless bitch. Let's see Disney make that into a smarmy, unrealistic cartoon featuring Chippy, the adorable, precocious chipmunk.
This video didn't need any music! Why?
Animals are so amazing lol if I ever felt some rodent squirming around like that In my hand I'm checking it into the next state just off impulse 😂😂
Heroic music😁
There goes Alvin
Thumbs up just for the music!
Nice😊😊😊
Alvin...
Alvin?
Alvin!
DAAAaaaav..
Gulp!
Dinosaur at heart
Great video thanks
Seems to me the heron had the chipmunk by the neck, and the sharp shaking was an attempt to break its neck Fascinating, and yet intelligent.
The cameraman could have saved the poor chipmunk instead of just watching!! Glad you take pleasure in it's suffering!!

Nice video but what's up with the Godfather music? Is the chipmunk 's name Fredo?
I guess the squirrel had a heart attack

Nope, I’m not going to share my meal with anybody.
Nice… I get rid of them by my crossman pellet rifle. Does the trick…
I thought those birds stayed by the water and ate fish. I guess not!

Hard to kill that chipmunk!
Remind me to add blue herons to my varmint hunting list.
Music is unnecessary

Sometimes herons kill for sport if they aren't hungry. So do kids with pellet rifles who grew up watching Alvin and the Chipmunks
They eat anything at all
kinda comical
