I like the cheap mechanics gloves with the rubberized palm and the longer cuff. I cut the tips of the fingers off right before the second knuckle. Saves a few bucks, haha.

Very cool video I'm in a boat and I mainly started wearing it because I was getting so much sunburned on my wrist in my fingers it would take too long to heal and I always wet my gloves before I handle any fish or bait thank you
I wear full covered mesh gloves with thin rubber grips cause it's safer to handle fish that hardly can be gripped if slippery or have sharp gills or handling stingray
On point with wearing gloves, I never wore gloves before it’s so much easier handling fish and helps from getting sun burn as well, I like the ones you are wearing I may consider a longer glove
Tony, I totally agree about using fishing gloves for the reasons you mentioned; however, you missed the two best fishing gloves in my opinion. I use either Fish Monkey or KastKing fishing gloves. Fish Monkey's "Stubby" or "Guide Gloves" are excellent, while KastKing's Gil Raker gloves are a great choice. I'd like to see Salt Strong compare the ones you mentioned in this video with Fish Monkey and KastKing fishing gloves. Both KastKing and Fish Monkey are UPF 50 rated as well...
I wear the Kastking Gil Raker fingerless fishing gloves cuz I don't like getting poked by dorsal fins lol Plus they let me handle fish so I don't accidentally drop them. Preventing sunburn or ring tans is a bonus too haha
I sure could have used a pair of gloves on my 1st commercial Salmon trip. You have to hand line the 6 phathom. Landing 60 large springs 3 line cuts to bone. You have to be really good not to get beaten up .
Tony can you make a video about what type , size and differences of conventional reels are best bridge fishing for beginners . And compare to spinners reels. Conventional reels for dummies video 😂. Thanks
I was wondering why people don’t wear gloved when handling fish like Walleye and Pike. It just seems safer to me to protect your hand from the gills and hooks. I wear a glove when removing hard hooks from bass as well to protect myself from a trip to the ER and get a better grip on the fish. To each their own; I don’t always wear gloves but it’s definitely nice to have.
My dad is old school fisherman, spent his life on the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic. Now lots of skin cancer issues and he wishes he knew then what he dies now. When they burn those cancer spots off it’s unbearable for him. He wears UPF shirts and gloves now but if he had similar in the past it would save him lot of pain.

Uncle got finned by a Redfish about a decade ago, he went to bed with his thumb a little sore. Woke up to it swollen, and black they had to amputate about half of it as it turned out when he got finned a flesh eating virus immediately infected it. Granted the part he lost wouldn't have been covered by tipless gloves but some protection is better than none.

Best reason is to prevent cuts from braid, fish, and hooks if you ever got an infection its not pretty.

I wear gloves cuz some of them fish got some big tooffas
so....the fingers that are NOT covered....whats the point ...
The gloves have a lot of benefits. But having the finger tips bare is helpful for tying knots, handling things, etc.
