Too many choices of papers = chaotic results = no joy. Yes! You described the problem I’ve been having. I’ve even been searching online and in my community for art courses to help me with the process because I’ve been so stumped, and I feel like you just gave it to me! Thank you so much! I’ve just discovered your channel and now I’m going to go watch your whole library! Thank you!
I am absolutely thrilled that my way of sorting could bring some order to your process. It made the world of difference in how I create when I stumbled on it a couple years ago. For me, the fewer papers to choose from, the better!
One more thing I’ve learned: I used to obsess over torn vs. cut edges in my collages; I’ve seen that you don’t, and everything still looks great. So I’m not going to do that anymore!☺️
This is great 🙂 I've heard that our soul speaks to us through synchronicities to know we're on the right path and you are the second Catherine I've been led to. The other one was to do with a card game that gets you out and about. Both of you really creative people 🙂
Beautiful ! Your tutorials are excellent. Your explanation and thought process of how to choose papers in this is very helpful. I also admire your restraint to only use a few bits of those gorgeous papers out of all you chose. Time for me to catch up on more of your videos 🥰
So glad that you found this demo helpful! Yes a limited palette really gives you so many options when it comes to creating collages from the papers made with this way.
I love all these ! Thanks so much for the unlimited free access to your kickstart collage course. Ive started , but come to a standstill ~ I cant seem to make choices and have thrown a couple away, but plan to make more varied painted papers.
Thank you! This was super helpful. I feel a renewed confidence to do more collage. As well I receive comfort knowing I can watch more of your collage videos until I find my groove. Many thanks ❤
I rinse them in water as soon as I finish gluing, but if I've been gluing too for long, they will get stiff. Then I soak them over night in Murphy's Oil Soap, and then rinse with water. They come out looking like new!
I tend to hoard my very favorite papers. Thanks for your generous and free tutorials.
Remember you can ALWAYS make more papers, and probably have a ton of them already! Hope you will enjoy your favorites in making a collage with them!
I really enjoyed your video ❤ Thank you ❤
I'm thrilled that you enjoyed it!

@@marthamihaly5125 It took me a while to stop obsessing over straight cut lines too! Its a huge freedom to just rip and glue!!!

I loved these collages. I just recently made some water droplet papers. Can't wait to use them.
Thanks so very much! The water drop papers are magical and so useful in a collage when placed on transparent paper.

Amazing. Thanks for showing!

Catherine, how do you keep your media spreading brushes clean and soft? Thanks
