This is such a detailed video! Thanks for doing this! I am an RN in Canada for 11 yrs now. But planning to move to the US soon so this was very helpful especially on the part of not having an active license in the Phils. I just have one question though, was your CGFNS exam waived as well?
Hi!! So sorry for the late reply, UA-cam didn’t notify me about your comment! The CGFNS exam is a requirement for some states only as part of the CGFNS certification program (CP), which is required by Nebraska for example. As for Texas and most other states, a CES report will suffice so the CGFNS exam is not needed. :)
@@IoneNicole The part when CGFNS waived your prc stateboard verification, how long did that take from the time you explained to them your situation until they finally waived it? Because I think I will have to ask them to waive that for me as well, considering that it hasn't been active for more than a decade already, and that I am licensed in Canada as an RN anyway.
OMG... am so happy to stumble across your video.. Am from the Caribbean and is also looking to become a USRN. The process is nail biting. Thank you for the time and effort you've placed in this video. How can I get intouch with you? Maybe an email address or Instagram?
I did not because Texas is one of the states that doesn’t require it for the NCLEX :) However if you’ll be needing to apply for a US visa in the future, then the english proficiency test is a requirement for that. 😊
Hi Ione, there is a "Request for License/Registration/Diploma" form and not sure if it's just the state where I will be registering or you forgot to mention about it? Please let me know. Thank you for this content. It's very helpful!
Hi, that’s the License Validation form which I discuss at 9:02 :) I had this form waived because I’m not a license holder in my country of education. If you do hold a license in your country, this is the form you bring to your country’s licensing authority & they will fill it out & send it to CGFNS. 😊

hi friend,. I need your piece of advice here. Glad that I found your video, kinda relate to your situation before. I am a RN in the Philippines. I live in Utah but can I process CGFNS CES and take NCLEX Texas ? Utah needs CP and so much requirements its so frustrating. Can I take Texas instead? Hoping for your response Nicole., ☺🙏🙏🙏
thank you for this video! I have a question about attaching the proof to waive the license validation form. What was your attachment description? please thank you
Hi! It really depends on your situation. Mine stated that I was a dual citizen coming back to the USA because of the pandemic and would thus be unable to take the PH boards. :)
Finally bump into your video! I have one question about your application. I was also graduated in the Philippines how’d you know that Bon in texas doesnt required you to take english test
The BON itself doesn’t require any English exam and you can find this information on their website and on the CGFNS page for Texas as well! If you’ll be needing a work visa, however, then you will need to take an english test at some point. :) So basically, for texas as well as other states, you can take the NCLEX without an english test but you might need to take one later on to fulfill requirements for a working visa.
@@IoneNicole You said on the video that you took your exam in Texas and you live in different state. Did you endorsed your license from texas to your state? I
Hi Ione, I want to start my CGFNS process but I’m in the US. Can you explain to me how exactly your friend back home helped with the forms? Did you print and sign the forms and then mail it to her? Thanks in advance.
We have the same process of application to go through but I chose NY BON instead. Now I am applying for ATT here in Philippines hopefully I can have a available schedule right away because some are telling me that it will take time nowadays to have schedule due to the Pandemic. 🙏Thank you for sharing. By the way we graduated at same school, I can recognize your uniform..😉 one of the best school here👍
Hi ! You did a great job with your vblog. Very informative. Thank you for sharing it .I have something question ... how to up load the ID photo ... when you’re filling up the CGFNS application. Do you think we can do it via Celpon ?( iPhone 10 or any iPhone or do we need a computer for that.Thank you so much.I really appreciate it.
Hi! You should use a computer or laptop to be safe when filling out your CGFNS application. :) You can access the website on your phone but it is a little hard to navigate so I really recommend a laptop/computer.
This is a great help to a beginner like me. May I humbly ask what to input on license record section? Specifically the adress of the organization since I am a PhRN and PRC has a lot of address since every region has an office. Thank you po❤️
For this, I’m not sure! My RLE hours were evaluated by CGFNS and not the BON. CGFNS deems whether or not my RLE hours are sufficient or similar to what US nursing students experience and if it is, that is the information they pass along to the BON. :)
Hi ion, thanks for such an incredible amount of time to make a video. I have some questions, I will be very thankful to you if you would able to assist me. First of all, I just moved to California and it's been one month only. I got married and my husband gonna apply for the papers but still I have a visitor visa. 1- does the Social Security number require for CGFNS in California? 2- if I go to another state, can I transfer my license to California then? If yes, do I have to write the nclex exam again? Thank you so much
I’m not from California, but I have friends who are, and yes Cali requires a social security number so you’ll need that visa! and yes you can endorse your license from another state to Cali, the process is just a bit harder for international grads. And you will only have to take nclex one time with your initial licensure. 😊

Thank you so much for a detailed video, so helpful. I have one question, I am an RN for over 7 years, I first started practicing 7 years ago after my Diploma in Nursing (which is the minimum for practicing in my country), a few years ago I decided to further my education and received my BSC in Nursing through an expedited programme that lasted for 3 years in a Ghana, which is another country as I'm Nigerian and had my Diploma and practice in Nigeria. Now I'm filling out the CGFNS forms and it's asking for my minimum educational qualification (one which allows me practice as a nurse in my country), my question is should I put in there my Diploma or should I put in my BSC, knowing that I just concluded my BSC last year 2021. Second question, in submitting my transcript, who will be submitting it, my school of Nursing (diploma) or my BSC . Thanks
Hello :) Thank you so much for this video Nicole. You're always been brilliant ever since I've known you. Lifts me up! I just have a question, I hope you don't mind. One of my friend advised me to just process personally the application to take NCLEX exam; however I already had my connection with Health Carousel. I just don't know which step is best for me to proceed. I would like to ask for you advise on this one. Should I just continue with my current process with Health Carousel? or Should I restart and do the process myself. My friend told me that a disadvantage of having health carousel process my application is that they will deduct a significant amount from my salary, soon when I will be working abroad already. Looking forward on your advise. Thanks!
Perfect video for starters. Just confused on filling up the State Board of Nursing application form. Do you need to be in the US to fill out the application form. Applying for Georgia State and the application form ask for Social Security Number. Can someone clarify this please.
Hi Ion.. first, thank you so much for sharing all these informations, very informative. I have question about cgfns under the shopping cart there is part there credential evaluation service add recipient. What purpose did you put to drop down? Licensure, Certification, Other? I'm not licensed in the Philippines too. Thank you in advance. Waiting for your reply.
Thanks so much for the video. Quick question though, on the CGFNS website, it says that you need to meet SOME of the following criteria A. You graduated from an accredited nursing education program in your country of education B. You are licensed as a Registered Nurse in another country C. You’ve practiced as a Registered Nurse for at least two years before. It's the phrasing of "some" of the criteria that I'm confused with, specifically for criteria C Do I definitely have to work for 2 years in my home country (which would take me to the end of 2022) before I can even consider applying to work in the US? I meet all the other criteria, and as I was educated at an Australian university, I don't need to complete any sort of language testing
Hi! So my video is really just geared towards being able to simply take the NCLEX, rather than the specific processes to come over to the US after passing which require a visa, etc because I’m not too knowledgeable on those steps. To answer your question, that is something I’ve wondered myself because I know some people who only had a year of work experience and then they were able to find a nursing staffing agency who would take them. I think the amount of work experience may depend on the agency, and I’ve also heard that sometimes work experience in your home country isn’t even required as long as you’re a new grad. Basically I’ve heard mixed things regarding the work experience part and I’m still trying to find out what’s true. 😊
@@IoneNicole Thank you very much for the reply. One more question. So I'm from Australia and I've read on forums that our degrees are particularly deficient in OBGYN and paediatrics compared to the US. I'm guessing that when you get the CGFNS report back, they wouldn't be able to point you in the right direction as to how make up the deficit in your experience, they just point out that the deficit exists. But have you seen any criteria in terms of minimal theory and practical hours, as well as the "level" of qualification (e.g. graduate certificate vs. graduate diploma vs. masters) required for each of the separate disciplines? Or do you know of any agencies that help guide prospective applicants re: this process? Would hate to go spend money and time on a course only to find out after the fact once my credentials are re-evaluated by CGFNS that it doesn't meet the necessary requirements.
@@IoneNicole I guess another way of asking my question would be, were you 2 years post-grad at least? I guess what I'm wondering is are applicants not even eligible for a CGFNS evaluation of your credentials if you aren't at least 2 years post-grad based on the above statement I put in the first comment? My partner and I were particularly interested in going to Texas or Florida by 2023 and we are both in our first year post-graduate.
@@maddisonclayton1172 I was not 2 years post-grad :) I graduated in August 2020 and applied with CGFNS right away. I actually haven’t heard of anyone being found deficient by CGFNS standards! All my Filipino friends had no issues having their credentials evaluated. In the US, I think it’s just California that is strict regarding OB, etc and in that case, they’ll tell you to go back to school and for what courses.

Wow! You're such a God sent to me🥰. I really appreciate. I will start the process later when I have made certain arrangements. I will keep in touch all the way. Thanks million
Like now I want to apply to North Dakota they have both CP (where the include CGFNS exam as their requirements) & CES too. So I should click on CES only or what pls help me check again
Thank you so much for sharing 🤗
Have you been struggling with NCLEX be it LPN or RN, have you taken the exam for more than once? Are you taking it for the first time? Do you have a too busy schedule to study? Get to Dr Needham for your NCLEX assistance. I’m so happy I finally passed my exams thanks to him. He’s got a magical qbank which will help you become a RN
Thanks🙏❤️
@@euniceevan6321 Yes I did! I endorsed my Texas license to Nebraska where I currently practice. :)
@@IoneNicole are you resident of Texas?
@@manilynlemay4346 I am not, I’m from Nebraska :)
Hi Ione, I want to start my CGFNS process but I’m in the US. Can you explain to me how exactly your friend back home helped with the forms? Did you print and sign the forms and then mail it to her?
Thanks in advance.
Contact Dr Needham for your Nclex review be it RN PN he help me pass my NCLEX RN on my 4 attempt. he is the solution to nclex problems
hi. i have the same question as well. were u able to figure it out?
I signed the documents and mailed them to a friend back home.
Thank you
Hello thank you so much! Did you take the TOEFL ??
Hi, I didn’t have to take any english exam because the state I applied to didn’t require scores & my school taught in English ☺️
We have the same process of application to go through but I chose NY BON instead. Now I am applying for ATT here in Philippines hopefully I can have a available schedule right away because some are telling me that it will take time nowadays to have schedule due to the Pandemic. 🙏Thank you for sharing. By the way we graduated at same school, I can recognize your uniform..😉 one of the best school here👍
Good luck with scheduling your exam! 😊 And oh, nice! Glad to hear it! 😉Thank you for watching! 🤍
Use the address of the PRC nearest to you ☺️
did you had to translate your transcripts and paperwork in order to sed it to cgfns
Thank you so much for this video
For this, I’m not sure! My RLE hours were evaluated by CGFNS and not the BON. CGFNS deems whether or not my RLE hours are sufficient or similar to what US nursing students experience and if it is, that is the information they pass along to the BON. :)
thank you ION
How did you study ? For the nclex tips please
Hi! I have a whole video where I described how and what I used to study for the NCLEX. ☺️ ua-cam.com/video/kr--N0ZY77E/v-deo.html
Did you do your fingerprinting in texas?
Mine was done in Missouri! You can do it at any of their verified fingerprint places around the country.
@@IoneNicole thank you so much 🙏🏻

Thanks
Good
Excelent Video!
2,000 pesos is only roughly about $40
yeah I made a typo there! I didn’t notice until after I uploaded hahaha.
Hi Ion! What is the Authorization Release form for?
Hello, which form is that? Or where did you find this form? :)
Just subscribe I’m in the same situation. Thanks for sharing
thank you for watching! ☺️
Thanks!

You need an agency to help you come to the US, they will deduct your salary for 2-3 years. Check out the video on my Nursing channel
Can you please tell how you wrote the letter that you haven’t given ur liscense examination in your home country in ur personal profile?
Is it possible to change agency to doing the whole process alone?
Perfect video for starters. Just confused on filling up the State Board of Nursing application form. Do you need to be in the US to fill out the application form. Applying for Georgia State and the application form ask for Social Security Number. Can someone clarify this please.
Very useful video
Hi Ion.. first, thank you so much for sharing all these informations, very informative. I have question about cgfns under the shopping cart there is part there credential evaluation service add recipient. What purpose did you put to drop down? Licensure, Certification, Other? I'm not licensed in the Philippines too. Thank you in advance. Waiting for your reply.
I placed Licensure as my purpose. ☺️
@@IoneNicole Thank you so much Ione. Very helpful. More videos to come. God bless!
Thanks so much for the video. Quick question though, on the CGFNS website, it says that you need to meet SOME of the following criteria
A. You graduated from an accredited nursing education program in your country of education
B. You are licensed as a Registered Nurse in another country

Nice video inspiring
Omgg.. I found your channel . Thank you so much for doing this., 🥰 I'm from Maine, and I graduated Bsn year 2009... gosh that was long time ago but deep in my heart I really want to pursue the usrn. But I once failed our PNLE way back long time ago 😂. so i have question. do you think it would affect my application process?
Hi, thanks for a great video. Just one question .
if you went to multiple primary and secondary schools.. do you need to include all that in your cgfns history?
I went to three different primaries and two secondary.
Do I just use the most recent primary and secondary or use all
What did you do with the Profession box without taking and passing the PNLE?
I graduated in the philippines too, and I wasn't able to take the PNLE because of the pandemic. But when I was filling up my Personal Profile, it requires me to fill up my Profession, but I don't have a Philippine license yet. Can u help me, what u did?
I just placed Nursing / Nurse as my profession on the Personal Profile. It’s okay that you aren’t licensed yet when you answer that part. :)
