Something seems off! When you are asked these questions, instead of jumping into a framework you should be asking questions to the interviewer. Why it wants to enter certain market? Increase market share, enter new business vertical? Etc. You are given a very ambiguous question, hence the first step should be to ask questions to reduce the ambiguity.
If the question is vague like 'should google enter the healthcare industry?' is it ok to select a specific segment of healthcare industry like New drugs invention or personal healthcare and then do a 5C analysis?
How to go about this in an interview set up as in knowing strength and weakness of the company being mentioned or is it ok to make assumptions and move forward
Hi Manish, Having a brief understanding of the common companies/apps that we interact with on a daily basis really helps in these situations. But if you feel you are not too sure of it, you could always ask the interviewer to help you out a little bit as you are not aware of this company and its competitors. Hope this helps!
