Stumbled upon your tiktok and it really hit me. I go to a private school and before we would start Filipino class we would sing it along with our teacher and I never knew the history of it and its really interesting pala. This video made me feel closer to my Filipino teacher too because he passed away yesterday and it hit really hard for my class. He made Filipino subject fun 🥲
Great video! I couldn't ever forget this song. I studied in a public school here in PH, and we used to sing this in my elementary years (which for me was back in 2004-2010). We sang Lupang Hinirang first, then recited Panatang Makabayan, then sang Bayan Ko with interpretative actions lol. Back then, it was just simply a routine for us so we didn't really know their meaning. But as I grew older, I got to understand and appreciate how meaningful those lyrics were. Not sure if this is still included in public schools' morning routine. I hope it still is because I'm actually quite glad we were introduced to this song when we were younger. Thanks for this video 💛
I seriously doubt elementary kids sing the song anymore! But hopefully one day they start teaching the song again. Thanks for the kind words, Rocky! I’m glad you enjoyed the video
Thank you!! In fairness to history teachers, there’s so much they have to cover in one semester or school year so stories like these tend to get skipped. And that’s why I make these videos!

RIP to your Filipino teacher! I wish we had more teachers like him. Hopefully his ideas live on in you!
