This was "my" personal favorite-because it's something I could use around my property.
This was fun! Can't wait til next year!
Ken, I really enjoyed your input in these videos with Tim and Jason. You guys should try to collaborate on more videos. Your knowledge of hydraulics is impressive. Thanks.
This is by far the most unique and, for me, would be the most useful of the attachments you've shown so far. Thanks!
That saw is made in my home state so it has to be the best. God bless you'll.
No way I can pick just one Tim. There certainly are some geniuses in the tractor world!
Well I’ll be hornswoggled! I’ve been following your channel for a while Tim. I never expected to see someone I knew well on your show. Frank Casey and his lovely wife Dawn are top notch folks! He is as honest as the day is long, and will tell you like it is. If you are interested in his product he will steer you in the right direction.
This limbsaw gets my vote. Looks very well designed! I like it.
Of course I want one!
With hundreds of trees on this property I vote this one is most unique and is really neat. I'm glad you got the question about the fixed chain - e.g. doesn't have a clutch. Looks useful. Martin
Very cool. This was a great series. I just bought a Stihl pole saw last year, so while this would be a back sever for sure, I'm still going with the Add A Grapple for most unique attachment.
The limbsaw is a good idea , I'm interested but would have to see Johnny use it first . My vote is the $600 grapple thanks Tim
You sure “saw” some unique attachments Tim. I would agree that this one is definitely the most unique. Now if only the flow rates of the sub-compacts was a little more you could have some fun with that.
Keep on tractoring and God bless.
I believe this limb saw to be the best attachment of them all thus far... I didn't catch the bar length but looks like 19 inches? I would love to have this, but really only need a 14 inch bar at the most, as us smaller compact tractors folks haven't got that much hyd. output. Make a small model and six feet above what the bucket reaches is great for me... Good video TTWT, Ken, BOH, and Jason...
Hi Tim and Christy and Ken finding the most Unique attachment is going to be very difficult as each attachment has its own Unique style but thanks to your videos people can see the huge amount of attachments that are available at afordable prices
Yes, agreed.
Enjoyed all the videos while y'all were at the show. I have to vote for the limb saw myself. That piece of equipment would be handy trimming trees around a field. Don't know about your part of the country but here in NC most fields are surrounded by trees or at least on two sides and the trees slowly encroach on on the field and takes up field space. That would make short work of trimming those trees then take the Limbsaw off and go back around with the loader and push them out of the field. Y'all take care and God bless.
Great series and thorough interviews. Thanks, TTWT
I have really enjoyed these series.
Really nice attachment today! I love it! Although I will have to say that the mini-clip still gets my vote for the best new attachment. The price is much more reasonable on this one but the maintenance of chain adjustment, sharpening, replacement, lack of 90 degree positioning make the mini-clip more attractive to me. Thanks for posting!
Maybe when this is all done you can run a quick review of all the unique attachments in one video .. Love the videos .. God bless your family ..
This was a cool attachment for sure. Seems like it would take a lot of time to orient the tractor between cuts.
Maybe we’ll get a chance to try it.
Awesome! That would be sweet.
Nice. I claim this as the most unique attachment. 👍🏽🙂
You Found something good and its my pick for the unique item of your series so far thanks for sharing it i am going to look at it for sure
Shooot. My buddy skeeter duct taped his old Sthil saw on a 2x4 we bolted to my bucket and zip tied the throttle at wide open and cut all day long!
We have a very similar saw for our tractor called a limbhog. My wife has uses this on trees at our house and on the farm. The reach of the saw is phenomenal. The chain last a very long time as only gravity is placing weight on the saw and operator error is held to a minimum. To date we have never had the saw hung up in the tree so that we could not remove. We were worried a couple of times. Safer than a ladder and saw and can reach farther that a ladder and saw. I vote for most unique attachment.
I really like this idea.
Pretty cool saw, I'd like to have one for my 1025R, thanks for sharing.
This takes the cake for the most unique attachment!!! Tim @ Cliffside Acres
Thanks for watching, Tim!
Like them all but that add a grapple gets my vote as something I would like to have, however as a new and interesting product I go with the loader mounted brush cutter and PTO driven power pack. There are so many other uses for that power pack.
I think this is great especially if limbs are a bit close to power lines or over a fence line. Might be better than pallet forking a man gage up that high with a guy holding a chain saw.
Great series. I need them all!
That'd be a great tool to trim tree lines with. No more getting up in the loader bucket. 👍
Tim and friends good show keep this kind of videos coming
God Bless
PaK
Thanks Peter!
It would be good for a pro making a living at it. Where I live I get more usage out of a 6 ft snowblower for about the same price. Still it is an interesting attachment.
My dad has one on his 3320 and used it quite a bit
This is the winner.
This one has my vote!
You would have to use the rear hydraulic pump from the other video in conjunction with this saw for all the lower GPM tractors which would make this a very useful tool, especially for the heavily wooded areas.
I'm liking it. Is there a way to rotate the cutting head? Need a way to install it to a grapple.
There is no way to rotate it. It's for "limbing" trees, not felling them so there is no need to rotate the head.
Very nice attachment and for 2k affordable. I am in👍
After seeing everything my vote is for the quick bucket attachment and my second would be the grapple
Would work great for me on the excavator, these attachments are geared for a 30 hp tractor and up I'm thinking! Thanks for sharing all these amazing ideas.
That one gets my vote.
It's a tough call between this and the mini-clip, but I'm going to go with the limbsaw.
Tim the HLA company that makes tons of attachments has a Hydraulic Limb Saw
All very good attachments but the rotary cutter and hydraulic power attachment has my vote.
I like everything about it other than the oiling system. I don't want my $120 a bucked kubota oil getting dumped on the ground, not to mention chain and bar oil is meant for this purpose.
Ah, no worries. You’d have to use it for a week to even notice any reduction of oil. Think about it...how much oil does a saw really use?
Most unique
That’s neat, and the price tag was lower than I expected. I’m a little bit disappointed that I don’t have any need for one.
My dad has a pole saw and I think he purchased it at northern tool equipment I can find out
Great video. When using the limbsaw is there anything else I'll need to plug the hydraulic lines too, or do I discount something else?
No, just your front 3rd functions. Make sure you have enough flow on your tractor.
Hummm. I believe I need to buy a auxiliary 3rd function hydraulic controller because one did not come on my 1025R. 2021 model.
We just did a video on this topic. Encourage you to watch it, as we review 11 different hydraulic upgrade kits for 1025r.
Like that a lot. But like you Tim, my 1 series is limited in the GPMs. So not helpful to me. That said, it is really cool!
But the real question, does the 1025r have enough power (flow rate) to run this saw?
No, but by adding the hydrosplus kit, you can increase the flow to where the 1025R can run the limbsaw.
Cleaning out woods at this time would be very usefull - but a little pricey
Think so? You don’t find many hydraulics driven attachments at this price.
I like this I would like to see it in action
Can it make an undercut on a limb to keep the bark from running before making a top cut? Can it turn left or right? Later
does not rotate. I do not think you can undercut effectively/safely.
Possibly with using the top side of the bar, but you would need to add some sort of relief like it has in normal operation. Maybe a shock absorber on the front.
Question.. does it articulate other than up and down? I know all you guys in the Midwest don’t need to compensate for the ground not being flat.. lol Seriously does it articulate side to side?
The limbsaw, no. It only moves up and down.
I don't think most unique but Nice Attachment!
Most unique? Maybe not. However its in the hunt for most useful and best designed, at a price point that makes sense. The grapple still makes a little more sense, since it's an item that would be used nearly every time you need to use the loader bucket. In fact, unless absolutely necessary not to have it, the grapple is an attachment that I would leave on the tractor all the time, it would become less of an attachment and more an every day part of the tractor. So for that reason, I think the grapple should win the grand prize of being loaned to Tim for a year's use and a field test video or two.
Silly question from a non tractor owner. I get you need hydraylic flow rate driven by engine horsepower. Can you add a front pto or rear deck unit of some sort to get the flow rate needed for a 1024/2024 or Kabota/other? I realize this may require additional hydraulics to be added. Possible or does ths fall into "You cant change the laws of Physics, Captian" category....
Yes Wally, a PTO driven "power pack" can be made or bought to give higher flow rates. We even covered that a bit in one of Tim's other videos from the show, the one about the loader mounted boom mower.
Tim, looks neat but imagine you cut a limb and it falls to the ground and you don't have the grapple to pick it up and move it out of the way. I guess the only logical answer is...more tractors, heck yea!
Or attach the saw to the grapple :-)
Tractor Time with Tim are you aware of any 3 point hitch rear grapples to grab and drag ?
No.
akbychoice, Wallenstein makes two 3 pth log grapples for small tractors. One requires 20 hp and one requires 25 hp, but need min 5 gpm hyd flow.
Jason E thank you for that information.
Most unick attachment
cool
Can we see Johnny 1025r run this? Sounds like it would work, I love the idea this and a grapple and no more fighting to find a tree guy to come to my house
No, it will not work on the 1025r or 2038r....tried it
@@TractorTimewithTim too bad, have to keep an eye out for one that will work. Might be a be big market for a little smaller version for sub compacts. I'll email but you have more push. (pun intended)
They know of the need...just not able to get a hydraulic motor to work on such low volumes.
Tractor Time with tim do have any jobs lined up to work on this year
Did a job yesterday. Finally getting dry enough to get out. We still haven't advertised for this year, so no backlog of work yet. We'll get there. It won't be long.
We have spent LOTS of effort over the winter preparing for spring. We'll have some new products to show. Hopefully this will be entertaining.
With all these high flow attachments in your tractor not having enough flow is there a way you could rig two hoses and a valve off the power beyond that runs the backhoe on your tractor
That will not give you any more flow than the ratings. About 3 GPM for a 1-series John Deere.
@@kdeckster okay I could be wrong wouldn't be the first time but I just thought that the two hoses going to the back hole or directly off the charge pump and were not necked down to the quarter inch connectors that are on the hydraulic SCV
Worth a mention though
@@Drew-in-NoDak Wishful thinking, sorry LOL
The pump is only rated for 7GPM total, but 3.5 of that is dedicated through a priority valve to the steering function, that only leaves 3.5 for the remotes. You cannot really change this fact.
From the John Deere website:
Steering hydraulics 13.2 L/min
(3.5 gpm)
Implement hydraulics 13.2 L/min
(3.5 gpm)
I like the limbsaw and it is a nice tool, but not compatible with Johnny. Unless you have the PTO power pack.
I may try it!
@@TractorTimewithTim It would be great if Frank could make a smaller unit, for the sub-compacts, he is missing a large market I think.
@@kdeckster I totally agree with Ken, they would most likely double their market volume...
I get it goes up high, but for most things, a pole saw works for 95% of the things people do. You'd have to do this a lot of work with it to make this price worth it.
My arms would disagree. Whew, a pile saw gets heavy! :-)
NOW ALL THEY NEED TO DO IS MAKE IT ROTATE
I need one ☝️
While I would find the Limbsaw much more useful than the Hurricane Ditcher, I voted for the latter as 'Most Unique" because it, well, it just IS most unique.
Besides, Limbsaw sounds like a tool used by a butcher of a surgeon during the Civil War.
Most gruesome comment award :-)
In the Civil War era, they called it at limbsaw. Gruesome but true.
more tools that won't work on our sub-compacts...
I may try it.
@@TractorTimewithTim this is cool I still vote for the FEL mounted bush hog
Thanks for all the videos very interesting to see what’s available for these tractors!!
Bigger Tractor ?
Please do Tim I would love to see it in action before I order one. Thanks
Ttwk
First
I don’t know about most unique but it’s my favorite I’m gonna be ordering one for me very soon 👍 👍. Thanks Tim.
i see so many gimmicky attachments for small tractors aimed at homeowners. youd never see a contractor using this.
just buy a pole saw lol. you gotta get off the tractor seat sometime.
Guinelle1 how high can this saw cut compared to a chain saw? From another video I looked up the Precision Engineering clipper which looks like an incredible piece of equipment. It would be interesting to compare the cost of the two.
Meh
My dad has one on his 3320 and used it quite a bit
