It would have been helpful to describe and show the problem that you are addressing before explaining how to "fix" it, especially for those like me that are considering buying a Samsung TV. Thanks
Ultimately I found these instructions spot on however the ads kept coming. I called Samsung on Saturday night around 8:30 PM (800-726-7864) and was surprised to get a customer representative. I was instructed to unplug the TV from it's power source for 45 seconds and that worked.
My Menu did not look like this, so maybe this will help.... 1. Go to Menu >> System >> Setup and navigate to Smart Hub Terms & conditions page. 2. Under Smart Hub Terms & conditions page Disable/Disagree/Uncheck, whatever your choice is, to STOP the Sync plus and Marketing option, then Complete setup . 3. After the Setup unplug and re-plug the TV to stop the adds related to Sync plus. Be sure that you have exited the SyncPlus screen in order to get to Setup in step 1. For step 3 you have to unplug the TV from the wall. You cannot just turn the TV off. We tried that, it did not work, unplugging for a little over a minute DID.
This video is no longer useful because after updates, I guess, the menus have changed. I have declined and turned off SyncPlus many times now and the syncplus ad just keeps coming back. It is literally every 1 to 2 minutes and it's full screen. I am about to trash my samsung tv and get another brand. I'm losing it over here.
Me too, one message board said you have to exit out of the Sync Plus menu, then follow these steps: Ajay I: 1. Go to Menu >> System >> Setup and navigate to Smart Hub Terms & conditions page. Ajay I: 2. Under Smart Hub Terms & conditions page uncheck the Sync plus and Marketing option, then Complete setup . Ajay I: 3. After the Setup unplug and re-plug the TV to stop the adds related to Sync plus
Guys, after you disable the sync plus, all you have to do is UNPLUG the tv from the wall and wait 15 seconds and it'll be gone! I just called Samsung and got this information and it worked for me
Thank You! So far so good...just waiting for it to pop up again. ugh! My neighbor just told me her wiz kid/son advised her to turn TV off and on as soon as it popped up. I made your suggested turnoffs, but had to turn on and off also. Still no pop-ups...Happy Camper here. Thanks again.
Was about to replace my old Samsung TV. I've been a customer of Samsung, for years now. This however is such a greedy and disgusting decision that I can no longer get behind them.
It seems that the TV is in store mode. To return the unit's settings from Store Demo to Home Use (standard): Press the volume button on the TV. When you see the volume OSD, press and hold MENU for 5 sec.
I have a Vizio 50 Inch 4K Smart TV (Model P502ui-B1) that I just purchased about a couple of months ago. I was watching a video through the UA-cam app just recently, and suddenly a commercial popped up in the middle of it, the volume sky-rocketed to max level. I called Vizio tech support about it and they said they couldn't do anything because those commercials are sent by Yahoo. I went through all the settings to try and figure out how to disable them myself, and found a feature called "Smart Interactivity" under "reset & admin", so I set it to off thinking that would stop the ads. I went back and watched the video again and the commercial still comes through. I know some videos on UA-cam have commercials embedded within them, as they have "yellow" indicators on the progress bar of where those will appear. This particular video doesn't have those marks, and to check if that commercial wasn't some kind of fluke, I watched it on the PC, and no ads appeared during the full length of that video. I decided to just reset the TV back to factory settings to see if that would remove the ads. When the TV started up again, that's where I saw the Terms of Agreement info, which I declined this time. Now, the app won't even connect to the internet unless I re-check that I agree to the terms. That's just crazy!! I wouldn't mind seeing a commercial here and there, but, to have it just popup out of nowhere and max out the volume is completely insane to me. Would you know of a way I could get around this? Your help would be much appreciated.
Tried everything in video, kept popping up. Aggravating to say the least, finally unplugged the tv for about a minute. I guess that's the final step that wasn't mentioned in the video. Hasn't popped up since.
Will that work on turning off youtube as well cuz once in awhile when we are watching a show youtube tries and butts in and we have to go to our source menu to get back to where we were
I have a Samsung TV that only have pop up ads at the bottom when using the PlayStation3, but not for regular TV use. Does this work to remove the ads while using a PlayStation3?
I have a problem with mine, what it does is ads pop up in the corners. They say stuff like “the number one TV brand for 4 years” and i don’t know how to turn it off. It gets really annoying when gaming because it blocks things like health bars, toolbelts, etc. how to fix?
I don't even have the same menu on mine. I have the Samsung UN40KU6300 40-Inch 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV (2016 Model) and there isn't a place that I can find in the menu that offers these options.
Please do one for a samsung TV at&t remote because I dont have a menhe button and just please do it please I'm so aggravated with this small rectangle add that's black on the bottom
on my tv it shows that the brand is number one and the smart tv options it idles round the tv. it disappears for a few second then appers in a random corner. wtf is that and how do u take it out
close but no cigar. I was looking to stop the adds that pop up while my mom watches youtube on the TV. I have pop up blocker and I never watch any adds on youtube on my pc.
when I go to the menu and scroll down, my smart tv only says, PICTURE, SOUND, NETWORK SYSTEM AND SUPPORT ..........THERE IS NO>> smart features button at all.......I have a Samsung smart tv......wonder why........
I'm not going to buy Samsung anything now. I already stopped buying there phones due to obvious planned obsolescence via non-removable batteries. Now they're injecting ads on content that people already paid for. that's fucked. Just imagine your favorite movie being ruined. Inception: Cobb: "What is the most resilient parasite? Bacteria? A virus? An intestinal worm? An idea. Resilient... highly contagious. Once an idea has" Pepsi Ad: "Nothing is more satisfying than a smooth, refreshing, crisp Pepsi!!!!!!" Cobb: "taken hold of the brain it's almost impossible to eradicate. An idea that is fully formed - fully understood - that sticks; right in there somewhere. "
I really hate pop up ads while just browsing the internet app on my samsung smart tv it sometimes redirects me to a random website like casino, bitcoin, porn related sites.
Menu on my mom's TV also looked slightly different, but I'd already disabled sync plus prior to watching this video,on the screen that pops up,there is a settings gear top right, that didn't stop it & I went & found the privacy policy on sync plus & yahoo & on my TV it has a "disagree to policy" checkbox, I disagreed to both & it still didn't fix the problem, the sync plus still pops up on the tv when the tv is on w/nothing else on it & has to be exited, WTF SAMSUNG!? Anybody else figure this out? I don't wanna reset to factory settings, then everything setup has to be done over, shouldn't have to,just to disable some BS built in ad service. Just another reason why Samsung fell from my top favorite spot, years ago, when working as Home Theater installer for Best buy, another reason I won't buy one
I even read many people saying that after changing those settings you must unplug the TV for 2 mins & that fixes the problem, IT'S STILL NOT FIXING IT! AGAIN I MUST SCREAM WTF SAMSUNG!? I requested support via the TV support link, it's outrageous that I should have to do this, for some piece of shit proprietary ad software to ruin the tv exp completely, something people pay the company thousands of dollars for & is rendered useless by their incompetence in programming the damn app to remain disabled,a hostile takeover, sorry I just have to vent somehow, till I can rip a samsung reps head off for this! lol

these ads piss me off so much. i cant begin to understand why my tv would come with the most worthless bloatware
Thanks for the video, it helped I had to unplug my tv also to complete, thank you so much that pop up was so annoying

This also seems to have worked for me.
unplugging the TV worked for me to, thanks!
You are welcome. Glad I was able to help someone.
Unplugging worked for me too!
Your fix worked for me too (unplug/45 seconds) after disabling the ads in software failed

Thanks for this post. I can confirm this works. I did all the steps and still got the Sync Plus pop up. I unplugged my tv and now its gone!

Same just started happening today. Fucking annoying

I'm having enough of Samsung. I'm buying another one. Fuck you Samsung!

no Samsung for me, f em, they lost a customer for life
save your money, or invest it in a more respectful company -- fucking squirrels
What TV brand are you looking into that's not Samsung?
Was about to replace my old Samsung TV. I've been a customer of Samsung, for years now. This however is such a greedy and disgusting decision that I can no longer get behind them.

Thanks for posting. That helped.

hahahahahahahaha, good one, but true, I'm on the same page!
I have a problem with mine, what it does is ads pop up in the corners. They say stuff like “the number one TV brand for 4 years” and i don’t know how to turn it off. It gets really annoying when gaming because it blocks things like health bars, toolbelts, etc. how to fix?
Do you know how to block ads on Sony Android 4K TVs? I'm getting Hyundai ads pops up on the screen while the TV is in Input. It's very annoying.
I don't even have the same menu on mine. I have the Samsung UN40KU6300 40-Inch 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV (2016 Model) and there isn't a place that I can find in the menu that offers these options.
So here's a stupid question... is there any way to make my Samsung tv mute itself automatically when ads com on?...I have dish tv.

on my tv it shows that the brand is number one and the smart tv options it idles round the tv. it disappears for a few second then appers in a random corner. wtf is that and how do u take it out
I was seriously considering a Samsung until I saw this. Even in 2017 it appears Samsung is still the runaway leader in shady TVs. Screw Samsung.
its easy to disable bro
close but no cigar. I was looking to stop the adds that pop up while my mom watches youtube on the TV. I have pop up blocker and I never watch any adds on youtube on my pc.
