Between the charger, thick red cable and the smiley-face SIM tool, nice package. Agree that the camera is lackluster, but overall performance is crisp and responsive, and OxygenOS is nicely free of bloatware unlike say, Samsung. Good phone for
You said you had a Motorola 5G stylus. I have no idea what's going on with Motorola phones but the amount of bloat wear is insane. On top of that there's at least 20 apps just for the Moto phone. Somehow over the years of upgrading phones, I have 400 something system apps including doubles. I was just wondering if anybody had these issues also?
Yeah. Got tne N30. My LG G8x was ready to retire with my battery in bad shape. Also no updates of any kind. Including security. This is about as close to the LG phones were with a lot of features. Cannot use the Samsung A series phones with the Meditak processors. Very good budget phone. Got mine for $234.00 a few weeks ago. I always use Nova Launcher on any phone i get and it is fast. The 8 gb ram is what allows this. Will get Android 14 and 3 years of security updates. Alright with me for less that $250. And with a snapdragon processor.
I have had the N10 since it came out in 2020 and aside from taking it everywhere and the outside of my case and screen protector showing where and tear the phone still runs beautifully I don't even really not much lag on anything I need on a regular basis. I mostly only only looking to upgrade now because I just heard about the new N30 and I'm like hm maybe I'll upgrade. Upgrade and keep my N10 as a back up phone you can never have to many of those.
This is actually what I want from a phone as an Apple user, I never liked the lack of headphone jacks and I always love SD card compatibility with androids compared to Apple. I might genuinely buy this when I get a new phone
Agreed. I am a stickler for the headphone jack and SD card slot and it is a shame samsung has been doing away with these features. I have been looking into the Moto Stylus too, which seems like a solid cell phone. Too bad there are not a whole lot of other brands in the US. The US cell phone market seems very rigged!
the only thing missing on this device, is a water-repellant coating, a rating like that on the Motorola phones, and probably durability too. will have to see. great phone though.
Thinking of going from a iPhone 13 Pro Max to the n30.. my late android was a one plus n30 and I just want something that has sd cards, aux ans usb c with a decent camera.
Can you make a OnePlus Nord N300 review? You made an N30 vs N300 comparison, but no N300 review? Can you also make a Nord 3 and a Nord CE 3 review as well please?
I'm considering buying this phone. My current phone on its last legs is a Nokia 7.1 which was in the same price range and has performed excellently the last 5 years. You say you don't expect to use this for 4 or 5 years because it's not flagship, but I probably will. Love all the features that most phones ignore (3.5mm jack, etc.) as well as lack of bloatware, that's what I love about my Nokia 7.1. But new Nokia offerings are meh, so I've looked and found this to be a serious candidate. I would buy the Pixel 6a were it not for the lack of headphone jack (huge dealbreaker).
This phone is great. The performance in the SD695 is still very fast on day to day tasks. As long as you dont game, its perfect in efficiency and regular performance. The cameras, charging, and design is also great
I currently have a Galaxy a52, had for about years, was in the $500 range when I got it. Definitely a significant upgrade from the $120-$200 phones I typically would buy before. I had a Nord N10 for a few months when it came out a few years back, it was $300, but it was stolen and I just went back to a slight older phone for a few months till I got the a52. I see the a54 in the $450 range and compared to the a52, it seems very incremental. A couple slight tweaks but with a smaller screen for some reason? Now I see the n30 in the $260 range and it seems to be similar to the a52/a54, a few of the specs seem like the As are slightly better yet other specs seems to say the N30 has a slight edge. At the end of the day, all things roughly equal, the n30 does seem to have a small edge. For $200 less, you get a roughly equal or perhaps a tiny bit better phone. At this point are you just paying more for the Samsung name, just paying for something that looks and feels more premium? Or is the Samsung going to hold up more over the long run? A year or year and a half from now will the N30 still be running strong or will its performance atrophy quickly? I mean after 2 years or so the a52 is still running probably 75 or 80% of how it ran brand new. The burn in on the amoled screen is definitely real and at this point it is still only somewhat annoying, not to the point where it's inhibiting use.
I have the Samsung A52. Love the phone. Free with T-Mobile. Nord N30 specs better in a lot of categories except one major item for me. No IP rating. It is not waterproof. Deal breaker for me. Otherwise I would buy it as a budget phone. Motorola customer service is horrible and outsourced, but have decent budget phones when on sale only, with more selections. I own Motorola, Apple, and Samsung. LG was my favorite for personal reasons. Need a upgrade to get more bandwidths for my area on 5g. My A52 T-Mobile only uses 2,66,71 bands. Google Pixel 6 and higher uses all bandwidths for all carriers. 5g, 4g. I just don't like Google phones for the price. Motorola depends on the phone.
I love this phone, but what is the deal with the camera? It's the worst camera I've ever had on an Android. The color is constantly shifting because there is no White Balance lock. I also have not found a way to fix it with a video color correction app. I really hope One Plus addresses this in a future software update, as the camera resolution itself is good. If the colors weren't shifting all over the place, it would be perfect.
I went from samsung to the oneplus 12 a few months ago and im so glad I did. I also discovered recenly that if I leave it in airplane mode with other connections turned off (wifi and bluetooth), the phone pretty much doesn't lose power, particularly when it's locked. Mine has stayed at 100% for over 9 hours multiple times. (I've been on vacation in a different country, that's why I've had all the connections turned off).
I currently own a Pixel 7 AND a Motorola Edge 2021. I got the pixel from a family member who didn't like it. After using it for about 6 months, I too didn't care for it. I switched back to the Edge, but am deciding on my next phone. Would the Nord N30 be a good phone to go to?
U know, I was wasn't looking forward to buying a new phone again. Seems like every year I do..Sucks.. I just bought this phone today.. I get it Tuesday..From best buy . I hope this one last longer than my NokiaX100.
I use my phone to listen to music via the usb c cable running into a DAC, then into a small headphone amp. I can't seem to get this phone to recognize the usb for this? any help as to what settings under usb routing might help this? or if there is an additional program that i can download.
Does anyone know if these work for Verizon in the US? I have the Oneplus 8T and it is still holding up, even against the newest 10T/11Pro models. But I want to get the N30's for my parents.
@@jejunamja yeah, thanks, that's what I thought, in my humble opinion, security updates are more important if we want to use a phone for 3-5 years, hopefully they will release more information regarding this. 🙏
Photography is all about capturing light. It comes down to sensor size. Cameras will try to game it with smaller pixels/sensor size while upping the resolution to appear impressive or nowadays use AI processing to "improve" the raw image. But reality is only truly captured with larger sensors. Larger sensor will do better in lower light and wider dynamic range (in high contrast). That said, N30 sounds great with high 108MP resolution, but it's only 0.64 micron rear cam (will be tough in low light and high contrast scenes; use a tripod). It's front cam is a much better 1 micron, making it a better cam as a selfie cam. My old Microsoft (Nokia) Lumia 640 XL shot great images especially in its day with 1.15 micron @12MP, Zeiss lens. Still use it to this day. iPhone 14 has 1.7 micron @12MP, while iPhone 15 only has weak 0.8 micron @48MP (lots of AI). Just bought the N30 and will try it out and live with it. Flagships just cost way too much. And I'm no longer into photography anymore anyway. Decent will work now.
how does this compare to the moto g stylus 2022? i downgraded from a oneplus 7t after i busted the display. i felt a noticeble downgrade in camera quality, responsiveness, and input accuracy. and the finger print censer is just kinda shit. would the nord n30 feel like a step up from the moto g stylus, or would you say it's on par?
Nice but you got this after the Color OS merge , maybe don't know about you but some of Old One plus lovers won't liek it , It's not bad , I also have a new one plus ( nord ce 3 ) , but since you mention clean os , their old os was much clean, I had a crush on them since their flagship killer era + " never settle " . I really don't appreciate that quote on their new phones after what they have become but hey :)) be a fan of product , not of company.
One plus has always been a top tier performing phone now with the camera improvements I’ll take this phone over most gaming is next level the battery next level software just as good as any new phone being released today phones a monster hands down.
The chip in this is literally 2 years older than the chipset in the Motorola G Stylus 5g! I am shocked that Moto released a phone almost better in every aspect! The Moto just starts at 6gigs of RAM instead of 8 but with the Snapdragon 6 gen 1 chipset 6gigs goes further!
I had the n10 5g a couple years back, it was a banger. The n30 is also a banger. The n30 and the tcl stylus are the best out for cheaper devices that look good and don't make you feel guilty for buying. I'm actually typing on a 2019 Alcatel 3v, my all time favorite "old dog" it's not fast or powerful, but damnit does she turn right on every time and make that phone call. Plus the 3v has an absolutely tablet sized display so watching your video was very 😎

I like this handset - it was my burner phone while I had to send in my Google Pixel 6 for accidental damage service. It a great phone to have as a spare. The camera app is ok, but throwing in the GCam from the Pixel will improve photo taking (mostly works).

I don't notice a screen protector on it. But it is working
@rachaelprimm7346 yeah I got scammed and switched to AT&T and traded that in and traded in a g stylist and got two samsung s23 ultras and it's way better. And my phone service is way better and cheaper but I lost my home wifi but I get Hotspot. And usually just play my phone through my tv
I'm buying this one tomorrow until I can afford a flagship OnePlus or a ROG phone One of my favourite part is the charging of this phone I download lots of movies PC games on my phone and pass them to my laptop and that drains the battery faster than normal use so a 50 watt charging phone is great for me
Thank you for this wonderful review. You've helped me decided in picking this phone. I've been looking for ways to punish Samsung for taking away the SD card and the headphone jack. This is looking like a nice alternative to my current 6 year old Samsung note series
"It's all plastic, witch I guess is a compromise for this price point." **THAT'S A GOOD THING!!!** All glass phones are insainly overrated! If you ask me, they're a burden.
The freaking battery is amazing on this phone. Ive been watching UA-cam for the past 2 hours and its only gone down 13%
I have had the N10 since it came out in 2020 and aside from taking it everywhere and the outside of my case and screen protector showing where and tear the phone still runs beautifully I don't even really not much lag on anything I need on a regular basis. I mostly only only looking to upgrade now because I just heard about the new N30 and I'm like hm maybe I'll upgrade. Upgrade and keep my N10 as a back up phone you can never have to many of those.
Did you get the n30??
This is actually what I want from a phone as an Apple user, I never liked the lack of headphone jacks and I always love SD card compatibility with androids compared to Apple. I might genuinely buy this when I get a new phone
Agreed. I am a stickler for the headphone jack and SD card slot and it is a shame samsung has been doing away with these features. I have been looking into the Moto Stylus too, which seems like a solid cell phone.
Too bad there are not a whole lot of other brands in the US. The US cell phone market seems very rigged!
Thank you for the review, have you tried the GPS when driving, lots of phones having GPS issue now?
Wondering the same.
I purchased the phone and I have no issues with the GPS. I live in Dallas Texas not sure if that makes a difference.
It's a beautiful smartphone, but unfortunately, here in Brazil, it costs two minimum wages. I'm tears.
I got this phone for 150 usd from best buy and I bought 4 of these and gave to my parents and inlaws...what a bang for buck
All I care about is the best audio to listen to my music. High volume, speaker strength etc! Any recommendations?
@pamspencer5733 invest 100 on phone and invest 300 on headphones
the only thing missing on this device, is a water-repellant coating, a rating like that on the Motorola phones, and probably durability too. will have to see. great phone though.
I dropped mine in the toilet, immediately put it in rice and the next day it worked like new. I thought it was water resistant , it's not
I just got my OnePlus n30 and I am loving it thanks for your video 😊
Thinking of going from a iPhone 13 Pro Max to the n30.. my late android was a one plus n30 and I just want something that has sd cards, aux ans usb c with a decent camera.
Just did! And I like the phone so far yes downgraded but in a way the pro and cons balance out also have $300 extra in my pocket

I just did, I have a Nokia X100 now, pretty good phone..
I can't wait to get the Nord..
This phone is great. The performance in the SD695 is still very fast on day to day tasks. As long as you dont game, its perfect in efficiency and regular performance. The cameras, charging, and design is also great
I'll call it the best mid range/budget phone under $300 bucks in my opinion
This or pixel 6a ?
Have you ever tried a Blu phone? Check out a video on the Blu Bold N3. For the same price as this it has tons of features.
A new Nord 30 SE is rumored to launch. Specs look pretty solid for the price! Dimensity 6020 + 8GB RAM seems like a good combo for smooth performance.
Nice review. Are there any Android phones you recommend which have a screen less than 6 inches?
I just walked out the store with this phone, service, case and screen protector for 180 with 30 off my next phone bill after rebate
I have Samsung A12 for 4-5 years now... it was the cheapest smartphone when I got it and it still running... I lost it on the ground ao may times 😂
Have they ?
I went from samsung to the oneplus 12 a few months ago and im so glad I did.
I also discovered recenly that if I leave it in airplane mode with other connections turned off (wifi and bluetooth), the phone pretty much doesn't lose power, particularly when it's locked. Mine has stayed at 100% for over 9 hours multiple times. (I've been on vacation in a different country, that's why I've had all the connections turned off).
Any spyware worries with this phone? Would you use your banking apps on it?
Please help I am trying to decide between this phone the OnePlus Nord N30 5G and the Samsung A54. I would appreciate the input.
A54 is much better
@@pneuma6421 why, is it because it cost me or what
I currently own a Pixel 7 AND a Motorola Edge 2021.
This phone is definitely a great value! Good job, OnePlus! And great review, Wade!
It doesn't record internal audio on live streaming though 😢 what a loss
Just got this yesterday... Pretty good for the price. The sound is really good, and charges fast
this will be a good upgrade for my dad since he has the OnePlus 6T
would this work with mint mobile service?
Went from n10, n20 and now n30, added a 512gb microsd card and im loving it.
I use my phone to listen to music via the usb c cable running into a DAC, then into a small headphone amp. I can't seem to get this phone to recognize the usb for this? any help as to what settings under usb routing might help this? or if there is an additional program that i can download.
I got one..never had a problem with it. It's 2024 now and I currently use the Samsung A35.
Does anyone know if these work for Verizon in the US? I have the Oneplus 8T and it is still holding up, even against the newest 10T/11Pro models. But I want to get the N30's for my parents.
I want to load my own choice of apps. Can all the apps that come with it be removed and individual preferences be loaded?
Anyone know what kind of water resistance the n30 has?
None only reason i didn't buy one.
Watching this from my N30 rn .. my only problem which I'm tryna figure, is It don't do double app feature being it's a dual sim
So between this and the new motto g play which one would you recommend
Get the moto stylus 2023 or 2024
The dual-sim and SD expansion should be standard across the OnePlus lineup.
Question: How many updates will it get? Major and security?
I don't know about security updates but it's only getting one Android update to 14 and then it's done

Decent will work now.
would this work on ATT ?
how does this compare to the moto g stylus 2022? i downgraded from a oneplus 7t after i busted the display. i felt a noticeble downgrade in camera quality, responsiveness, and input accuracy. and the finger print censer is just kinda shit. would the nord n30 feel like a step up from the moto g stylus, or would you say it's on par?

Great phone but since the update my double tap to put on the phone and to take it off is malfunctioning.

What device is better? One Plus Nord n30 or Motorola g 5g 2023
Bro if you're willing to settle for a moto that's a you problem.
I found the Motorola employee
Can anyone tell how many android updates this phone may get?
Who wants a glass back. More weight and fragility. I'm always happy to see plastic casing
Plus the 3v has an absolutely tablet sized display so watching your video was very 😎
hey. how would you compare the camera to the N30 compared to the camera on the N10? i loved my n10 but it was stolen and now I want to replace it, but I am thinking a more modern model. the camera is super important to me
Thank you for the review. I just set my N30 up last night to replace a Galaxy s21+ that kept shutting down cuz it said it was overheating. Was going to get the Moto but last minute decided on the N30.
Not familiar with everything yet but so far really love the lack of bloatware and the fast charging
Thank you for your great video I have now put in my order for this amazing phone 😊
I like this handset - it was my burner phone while I had to send in my Google Pixel 6 for accidental damage service. It a great phone to have as a spare. The camera app is ok, but throwing in the GCam from the Pixel will improve photo taking (mostly works).
Which GCam file are you using and is it specific to the N30? Don't want to risk messing up my phone.
Does anyone know how to enable external display for use with an HDMI converter? Works with my son's Samsung, but can't figure it out. I'm thinking it's a developer mode setting, but I can't find it.
What service does everyone have for this phone? Does mint mobile or Verizon work for it? I have heard no and yes. I had xoami but have to get a new phone bc it finally stopped working with simple mobile, sucks bc I love redmi phones
Mint
I’d argue that nobody knows about them because carrier stores never have them on the shelves, if they have them at all
Does have nfc?
Yes
Could they not have put a 6 gen 1 in it? Also slightly put off by your camera review, great video as always
I love mine too, the Camara is great, I'm a photographer
I dropped my Nord 20 in a case with the screen protector in the screen it went green and had like lines through it so the phone is broken I just picked up the nord 30 at Metro PCS in the guy charged me $350 for everything I feel like I got scammed and the phone had 10% charge in the charge that it had was because he had it plugged in while he was putting everything in it. I don't notice a screen protector on it. But it is working
You could of ordered it on metro online site and only paid $60 with service included no tax fee
I'm buying this one tomorrow until I can afford a flagship OnePlus or a ROG phone
One of my favourite part is the charging of this phone I download lots of movies PC games on my phone and pass them to my laptop and that drains the battery faster than normal use so a 50 watt charging phone is great for me
With my iPhone’s current cracked front and back glass (I always use a case too, shoulda just barebacked), plastic is music to my ears.
Is it still worth getting this phone?
I want to buy this phone just because of your video 50 W in 1 hour it goes from 0% to 100% count me in.
Thank you for this wonderful review. You've helped me decided in picking this phone. I've been looking for ways to punish Samsung for taking away the SD card and the headphone jack. This is looking like a nice alternative to my current 6 year old Samsung note series
Me too, my friend. Samsung has left us behind and it is a shame what has happened to their cell phone lineup. We need LG back!
"It's all plastic, witch I guess is a compromise for this price point." **THAT'S A GOOD THING!!!**
All glass phones are insainly overrated! If you ask me, they're a burden. In price hike for worse durability.
Honestly, I saw this phone with it's shiny back and said "awww... it's glass back." Then @2:03, when you confirmed it was plastic back, I got super exsited.
This phone just shot to the top of the list of phones I'm considering buying.
Agreed. You're going to put a case on it anyway. Why pay premium for glass back? Plastic is lighter too.
Yeah, and that's another thing. They're making these phones so thin now, and for what!? You need a protective case if you want your phone to last. I wish they'd stop nickel and diming us, and make phones more durable out the gate so we won't have to buy so many accessories.
Does the N30 have NFC supported?🤔
Yes it does.
I Still Have My N30 But I Also Have The Moto Stylus 2024 I Just Got Factory Unlocked & Its Slightly Better Upgrade

Hey good review it looks like a decent phone but I think the one negative with this phone as I think it’s only getting one android update so I think 14 and it’s done… I would like to have seen two updates
Yeah I purchased one of these and I've loved it so far but the reason I purchased it was because it was a little cheaper than like one of their flagships and I wanted to really like try out the company because I have a OnePlus 7 pro with the pop-up selfie camera but I never actually used it as a phone itself I just used to take pictures and stuff cuz the camera was great, so I bought this one just to kind of try out one plus and I've loved it so far so after mine's updated to 14 and they're not coming out with any and I decide that it's about time to get a new one that I'm just going to upgrade to one of their flagships😂
@@Jsv_1021O4 oh wow. I had the OnePlus 7 pro back when it first came out. It's probably the coolest phone ever with that pop up front camera. I sold mine but I kind of wish I hadn't. Do you still have the OnePlus7?

NORD is a TOP NOTCH company based in Germany! I know, because I am an automation technician and work with their electrical engineers in Germany. Nord may be new to the phone game but they make industrial electronics and have been in business for 78 years.
Cannot go wrong with NORD.....
that's good, didn't want a phone from China, made in china ...just saying...
@@marleneperry6972 The engineering is out of Germany but the phone is manufactured in China.
Motorola was the last phone made in the USA and that ended roughly 6yrs ago. It got outsourced to China, along with many, many other manufacturing industries during the so called “Trade War”. China use to make subpar products across the board, so i definitely understand your apprehensive stance, but times have changed. They now have the ability to competitively produce top tier quality electronics, optics & other technical products. China has caught up with the modern world manufacturing. Nearly 70% of smart phones are made in china an the other 30% are spread across other Asian countries, from India, Vietnam, etc, to South Korea. The world has been rapidly changing in the 21st century……
Nord is the name of the phone, not the name of the company. It looks like oneplus is a chinese based company.
