@Aaron M woah I don’t know about all that . No one is taking about elder men who lost there hair and gained weight . All people is saying is dress how you want too within reason . Where is all this loss of hair and gaining weight coming from . I doubt anyone here is that old looking at a fashion video .
I bought a cool leather jacket about 40 years ago, it wasn't cheap and I wore it for about 10 years or so then I put it away and forgot about it. Then around 25 years later I rediscovered it and it still looks cool, yes it's a little tighter (must have shrunk, ha ha) but still looks good, I like to wear it when out in our Mazda MX5 (Miata) during the summer.
I've said many times that this is a gentleman's channel for everyone including the everyday guy. This subject is a perfect example why. Great stuff. Thanks.
Bought a cafe racer style Harley Davidson jacket when I was 21. I'm 53 and still wear it as my go to jacket, even tho I have other leather jackets/coats. Its been through all the hell I've been through and is literally part of me.Dont really care if I "should" be wearing it or not.

Over the winter this year, I've been wearing a vintage WWII sheepskin flight jacket, and it is one of the comfiest and warmest jackets I've ever owned. Hell, I even overheated wearing it, in -6°c weather!
When I was in between 19-20 years old. I had this leather trench coat, and I just barely got this jacket. One night it was raining in my neighborhood, the City of Colton, CA. I was riding my bike to get back home and I started riding this street that has a downhill slope. My front rim gave out and I flew over the handle bars. So when I landed I rolled with it, and stood straight up, ninja, all in one motion. It was DOPE, too bad it was in the middle of the night so nobody seen it. It was pouring on me and all I keep thinking about was,"my jacket, dam I just got it" I thought it had ripped during the fall. I took a deep breath, took off my jacket, flipped it to the back, not even a scratch. I was so happy, picked up my bike and rolled out. Never had a leather jacket before or after.
Find a jacket that fits your style. Only you know what you want to express visually. "Trend" is dictated by the industry. Some items you will end up getting rid of, but you will hold onto others as you develop your style, which develops over time. When successful, your style becomes timeless.
Bro, if you can afford it and you like it, go for it, the only thing you don't do is buying something you can later regret (like jackets with very eyecatching colors: red, electric blue and that crap, stay away from trendy stuff). I own several jackets, being a Hartman one of them and I'm 32, looks great, fits great and I can go anywhere with that and look good. I started wearing leather when I was 15
I found a racing jacket almost 20 years ago on sale and it was probably one of the best clothing items I've ever bought. It felt like putting on my armor. A good friend of mine received the same jacket at Christmas that year though so when we went to the same events we'd show up with the same jackets on. I can't fit into it anymore but I can't bring myself to get rid of it.

I had my leather bomber jacket back in 2015 i was 24 and i got to admit i didn't appreciated back then but through the years it became my favorite piece
My favorite leather jacket has always been the bomber jacket. But after watching this video I’m curious about the car coat jacket. My all time favorite is the fatigue jacket, but I’ve never owned one in leather.Thank you for these great videos Antonio.
Always love the double rider jacket. The design is unique and iconic which was used in many pop culture films like Mad Max, Terminator and in a music genre like in Rock, Metal and Punk subculture
I have never been much of a leather wearer, but after I started riding a motorcycle I bought one and realized my wife likes the way I look in it. I like the cafe racer look. When he says motorcycle jackets look functional you need to realize they are probably quite thick leather and if you don’t ride you may find it too thick.
I would like to add some thoughts here. I bought my leather jacket twenty years ago, and it is still going strong, but I have taken care. The buddy whose shop I bought it at complained that I have taken too good of care of it, as I do not need to replace. The lining has wore out, and does need to be replaced, though. A quality leather jacket is something that will be part of your wardrobe for years, so take the time to research your purchase.
I agree with most of these except for the Varsity Jacket... I think it depends on the color scheme and cut of the jacket. For instance, Rag and Bone makes a black leather and wool varsity jacket that looks great, with blended cuffs and hems. It definitely projects a younger feel, but if you feel and look younger as a 30-40 year old, then go for it! You'll look great!
It depends on how they are worn. If they are worn around sporting events or to the gym it is fine and will look the part. Wearing it to the cinema or shopping is not exactly a good look. Again it depends on how and who wear them.
This is an Excellent Video!! My favorite would be the Moto/Cafe jacket. If I had a second choice it would be a tie between the Bomber jacket and the Utility
I am a rider and a aviator so my list goes 1. double rider first it is a classic and shows off your V. 2.. Bomber again a classic must be worn with aviator glasses Lol. 3. The utility I had one in black with a waist belt. 4. the cafe rider. 5. The duster it was the 90s and I was going through a phase. I had a brown one with a matching leather cowboy hat and matching brown strap boots.

In my opinion leather Biker Jackets work for men of all ages. Just look at Jeff Goldblum, his biker jackets make him look younger than he really is and not in a bad way.
It depends on the man, i have seen good guy looking dudes that are 22 years old using bikers and they look ridiculous, like a kid on a Harley Davidson or stuff
Really like the simple and clean look of the suede jackets. I’m not a flashy guy, but I like color options and the ability to match to different outfits. If you add any bling, I wouldn’t add much more. What price range would these fall in?
That is a good review! I am 54, been riding motorcycles all my adult life. I have many jackets, mostly the cafe racer style. My go to Rig, is a long utility type. Recently it’s the car coat, something for driving a vintage car that I want. I would have been great if you told us who made the jackets you demonstrated; some were very nice! Once Covid is done I a, having another made to measure; ... life is short!
Loved the video and like your approach on tactfully saying if you like this style or not when really it is only going to appeal to a niche market. The older I get (just hit 52) that I am going more bohemian, seems to suit my lifestyle and working from home too plus I am caring less and less what people think and dressing for me and me alone. So now I am on the look out for a black leather cafe racer style jacket. Keep up the good work.
Leather blazers are OK but I prefer a waxed cotton or suede/corduroy jacket.. I have a great corduroy jacket by Belstaff, the Rake.. it’s cut like a sportcoat… The collar and lapel can lay flat, or you can flip it up… The shoulders are structured, but without any padding or shaping… So it’s more natural looking… It has elbow patches in corduroy… And the corduroy goes in two directions on the back and front just to add more visual interest. Another great jacket and suede is called the drover by Belstaff.. I absolutely love this jacket, dark brown suede, and a chocolate on the body and a darker mahogany collar that’s rounded off..
Haha...yeah, I have my High School Letter jacket hanging in my closet. I will never let it go, because it is a part of my history. But I haven't worn it out of the house since I graduated High School because...wearing it a day after your HS Graduation is a statement that says "I peaked at 17."
My favorite leather jacket is the cafe racer jacket. I just love the clean look on those jackets. I have two of those jackets and they are just awesome. By the way... My score on the style quiz was 710. Not bad i guess!
I say wear what you want If it feels right and it’s your style then do it I love the presto motorcycle jacket or what you mentioned as the double I’m not even a motorcyclist I’m just punk rock roots 😊
I’ll be 57 in a couple of weeks, and I love quality leather. I really had given up on finding a leather coat that suited me...but the car coat...it’s a really great look for an older man. I think I could pull that one off!
My favorite leather jacket is the jacket made to look like a button up shirt. I think anyone, young or old, can pull it off. I got mine from Harley Davidson, but other companies make them.
I am glad you’re fighting the opinion proffered elsewhere in UA-cam that men over 40 shouldn’t wear (grain) leather jackets at all. I will probably wear an appropriately styled and fitted leather jacket until my dying day-and I might even have them bury me in it!
My first leather jacket was a black leather blazer I bought when I was 15. Now I go for vintage leather coats from the 70s. Just incredible pieces I find on eBay. You don't have to pay an arm and a leg.
i have a ww2 luftwaffe fighter pilot replica, neat lines, large inner pockets, 2 smaller outer, elasticated cuffs and waist, fold collar. perfect with a uboat jumper in the cold winter and being satin black also perfect with trousers, shirt and tie for smart casual or jeans and tee for casual relaxed.
I love my moto/cafe racer jacket, though I am concerned how it will look as I get older. I'm going to be 34 this year. It's not something I am worried about today but it's a quality jacket I it will still look good in 15 years but will it still look good on me?
I don’t wear a jacket, but I wear my vintage 1970’s ,brown ,deer skin suede ,fringe vest all the time. I’m 31 and it is a bit outdated. But I love it. I would like to hear your thoughts on fringe jackets sometime.
I wear G1 jackets with goat and buffalo skin. I have with and without patches. I also have alpinestars cafe jackets and 3 hybrid cafe style. The Mandarin collar doesn't have snaps. It's also has a bi-swingback. Something cafe race jackets doesn't have. It's an adventure type jacket something Captain America, Wolverine and Jack Reacher would wear. I have it in goat skin and a black and a tan suede steer hide. It's fitted but I can wear a fitted hoodie underneath. I also have dusters and workman coats. I did have a Harley leather like the Schotts classic but I gave it to a friend that knew the jacket. That jacket can tell stories. I gave it to the one person who would appreciate it. Oh yeah. I do have 2 Letterman's jacket. One from my company and another one from Hockey. They still fit and I use them with a hoodie in a cold environment. I do have the military jacket in black M-65 field jacket. I do have a lot of military jackets and tactical jackets too. Gang load of velcro'd patches and tabs. I collected all of them over the years and they all have a story to tell. I have a good frame so I wear them all well. It would depend on the occasion.
I,m from Australia and wear a crocodile leather blazer with pants made out of the same i,m 45 and have a v shape build i,ve also found long leather coats work no matter how old you are
Bet thing about leather is it is supremely comfortable, something an Aspie like myself takes very seriously. I got a soft quilted cafe style jacket from Shift years ago for when I'm out riding, and it's the best jacket you could ever hope to get. Almost like wearing a second...
My favorite waxed cotton/leather/suede and a few denim jackets in a modern iteration are from Belstaff and Barbour International..Classic, functional motorcycle inspired designs that have become fashion icons..David Beckham, Steve McQueen and other Rock/artist types who are or were bikers or rebels gravitate towards these classic looks..they even have designs inspired by Mr Cool McQueen by both companies..
Like the suede jacket. Couple aspects that aren’t my favorite, but overall a really good looking jacket. Definitely would love to see a black or dark brown suede.
I really like the Utility/Fatigue jacket and need to get one for my husband. When it gets cooler it will be nice to have and I think he will look good in it.
Hmm thinking of nabbing a 2-buttoned leather blazer, they look SO sleek and I think I'd be able to pull one off at parties, but I've already got my hands on a leather biker jacket and I like wearing white dress shirts for them so hmm...
Antonio, Nearly ALL leather jackets ( with zipper) should have a storm flap covering the zipper. You're right if you have a belly you should at least half zip all bomber (A2) styles as The elastic band pulls the bottom of coat open enhancing your belly. As always......Fit is first priority. **Lambskin drapes the best. Always use a good leather conditioner (Lexol) to maintain.
Def love my utility jacket...nice rich brown color. And always condition the leather. I liked your jackets except for the hand pockets. It was like sacrificing function for form to give it clean lines.
The Perfecto jacket, or double rider was part of my "metalhead" uniform in my youth. Check out Metallica in the 80's for reference. This jacket is a head turner because of its odd design. You have to be packing some personality to pull it off. I recently found a vintage example with brass hardware. I had to buy it!
I had a double rider at the end of secondary school too but was part of my 'punk' uniform. I was very much obsessed with both Ramones and the Mad Max movies and the double rider is a key part of their iconography too. It was bought fairly worn secondhand and a little big for me. Recently bought one which actually fits me and can't wait to wear it!
Went to a thrift store in Chicago a few years back and found a double rider motorcycle jacket for only 100$. (Looked up online, and it turns out that they go for 200$, so yay). It quickly became my favorite style of leather jacket. Bomber jackets are a close second, tho. Hope I can find one in a thrift store.
No talk about Fringe jackets?? I get it tho, I feel it's prolly the hardest to pull off, plus super rare to see them out and about. I've got the classic Brando black leather motorcycle jacket, a soft and supple sport jacket in dark brown leather, and a light beige pig skin. Waiting on my suede fringe jacket to come in the mail as we speak to round out my collection 👍, gotta love leather man!

Haha...yeah, I have my High School Letter jacket hanging in my closet. I will never let it go, because it is a part of my history. But I haven't worn it out of the house since I graduated High School because...wearing it a day after your HS Graduation is a statement that says "I peaked at 17."
Thanks for the video Antonio! I'm thinking of getting a brown Moto-jacket for the spring, so this was really helpful!
Sounds like a good idea!
@Laura Brown hyjack a more appropriate channel
Nothing will ever beat the classic M65/Mackinaw Cruiser style .
I always liked the look Negan from The Walking Dead was able to pull of the leather jacket and scarf look.
My favorite leather jacket is the cafe racer jacket. I just love the clean look on those jackets. I have two of those jackets and they are just awesome.
By the way... My score on the style quiz was 710. Not bad i guess!
100%, cafe racers are unquestionably the best; so sleek, so minimalistically elegant.
Those jackets look awesome
I say wear what you want
If it feels right and it’s your style then do it
I love the presto motorcycle jacket or what you mentioned as the double I’m not even a motorcyclist I’m just punk rock roots 😊
double rider as first leather jacket for sure, second one would be car coat or cattleman for dressing up a bit for versatility.
When I hear the words: "Dress your age", to me translates as: "You're getting old, dude."
'appropiate for my age" come on.. buy what you want. wear whatever you want. as long as you feel good about it.. don't listen to this jackass.
tot the author of this vid... wear a garbage back over your head... that will suits you perfect.. and keep your mouth closed... blablablblalablalbla
Antonio my first time posting. What manufacturer is the jacket you have on. Super sharp please share.
Maroon suede is eye catching and very stylish.
I,m from Australia and wear a crocodile leather blazer with pants made out of the same i,m 45 and have a v shape build i,ve also found long leather coats work no matter how old you are
I’m 16 and my favourite that I own is this retro 70ish brown leather jacket
Cafe Racer, I’ve got a black Belstaff v racer and I love it
Hi, Antonio! Could you please tell what is the jacket at 2:40 and at 5:19))?
In a good way...the suede jackets look like a leather version of Mr. Roger’s sweater.
I agree. The prototype suede jackets do look like zip-up cardigan sweaters.
Thank you my friend 💙 I've wondered about this for years! Excited to follow this up.
Bet thing about leather is it is supremely comfortable, something an Aspie like myself takes very seriously. I got a soft quilted cafe style jacket from Shift years ago for when I'm out riding, and it's the best jacket you could ever hope to get. Almost like wearing a second...
Aspie? That's not a diagnosis anymore. Hans Asperger was a Nazi
Great video and I’ve learnt a few things about leather jackets 👍
My favorite waxed cotton/leather/suede and a few denim jackets in a modern iteration are from Belstaff and Barbour International..Classic, functional motorcycle inspired designs that have become fashion icons..David Beckham, Steve McQueen and other Rock/artist types who are or were bikers or rebels gravitate towards these classic looks..they even have designs inspired by Mr Cool McQueen by both companies..
double rider for life....all I want as far jackets go
Like the suede jacket. Couple aspects that aren’t my favorite, but overall a really good looking jacket. Definitely would love to see a black or dark brown suede.
Love the videos!
I’m always having trouble spotting a good vs. a bad quality zipper - what do I look for?
Moto and Double Rider are my favorites. Great breakdown, I had never heard of some of the terms before, such as Car leather jacket. :)
My favourite is varsity jacket
the double rider = perfecto . that's the name.
I’m wearing leather jacket since I was 12 now I’m 15 and I’m happy collecting leather jackets
which jacket is it at 5:55 (the black jacket)? stunning!
My favorite is the Men's Cafe Racer Jacket.
What's the style jacket at 1:17?
It's so simple and elegant with the zip that goes to the top
Antonio, Nearly ALL leather jackets ( with zipper) should have a storm flap covering the zipper. You're right if you have a belly you should at least half zip all bomber (A2) styles as The elastic band pulls the bottom of coat open enhancing your belly. As always......Fit is first priority. **Lambskin drapes the best. Always use a good leather conditioner (Lexol) to maintain.
I'd like to have seen the Indy style included. I'm a big fan of them, particularly from Wested.
Just got a car coat or 3/4th coat as it was called. Perfect for the fall and winter.
The brando biker jacket makes anyone instantly cooler dad bought mine off me and he looks way cooler and years younger
I wanted the double rider for Christmas... I got the racer jacket 🤣
Thanks for teaching us the styles! Got a xl car coat from a cheaper brand. Lost 30 lbs and want to upgrade to a racer!
I already rocked the Carcoat in my 20s and got often compliments on my badass looks. 😁
Def love my utility jacket...nice rich brown color. And always condition the leather. I liked your jackets except for the hand pockets. It was like sacrificing function for form to give it clean lines.
I believe the two front pockets on the bomber jacket is mainly for your gloves.
Thank you Antonio. I love your informative videos. Love from India.
Awesome video - finally some Sopranos inspirations!
Casual outdoor bomber with zip in liner, no fur or fleece collar, Functional yet casual.
