- May 2, 2024: China’s Tech Trajectory: Latest Developments & Implications for the U.S.
China’s overall economy is doing poorly, but its tech sector appears to be making progress. In this presentation, Scott Kennedy will report on the takeaways from his recent field research trip aimed at assessing how Chinese companies are doing in a range of industries (including EVs, semiconductors, and pharma) and what this means for the U.S.’s de-risking strategy.
This public lecture series is organized by the 21st Century China Center at the UC San Diego School of Global Policy and Strategy. For more information on China activities, please visit china.ucsd.edu.
so shllow and so overbearing..no wonder US have dumb president, senators and congressmen
👌👌👌😯✌️✌️✌️
These are American nonsense. You think you know better than Chinese on how to manage their economy?
Thanks, I was settling down to watch this, I will not bother.
Chinese overcome tremendous hurdles in the past and will do the same in future. It is in their genes.
hi tech is not everything, how many people in the global south can afford an APPLE phone or Huawei phone but they all need an affordable phone made in china-most of them can't afford a Tesla or BYD but they all need an affordable bike, usually made in china
Exactly. Hi tech is all hype
I feel sorry for the Americans, for the audiences. If we continue to live in a well then we will never feel the need to improve.
Go CHINA!!!
Until his 25 minutes first half to try to establish credibility that he knows a thing or two about China…how pathetic.
He's from CSIS - a military industrial complex-funded think-tank that's invariably hawkish on China. He spend the initial part of his speech somewhat positive about China in their tech development progress kind of perhaps to capture audience's attention. But suddenly he awakened to remind himself where his food-on-the-table comes from & not to get too carried away, he switched to attacking, criticising China's govt, it's leadership (& the 4 BS "No's" he concocted) & their policies with some very juicy fabricated anecdotes.🥱 🙄
Just compared how much US debt compared to China debt...so laughable coming from a professor
delusional bunch of jokers didn't even know their govt incurring 1 trillion more debt every 3 months 😂
All 4 hypotheses are wrong.
“In the midst of chaos, there is also opportunity” ― Sun-Tzu, A Arte da Guerra China is just stepping up the opportunity
CIA propaganda channel 😂😂😂
“Engage people with what they expect; it is what they are able to discern and confirms their projections. It settles them into predictable patterns of response, occupying their minds while you wait for the extraordinary moment - that which they cannot anticipate.” ― Sun Tzu, The Art of War China PRC is everywhere: Africa, Middle East, Global South, the America now.
🤣🤣🤣 FAKE expert 🥸🥸🥸
I fail to gather what i have learnt from this.
He does need to make a living by continuing feeding the higher ups what they want to hear.
The forth ‘no’ is more likely in my view.
I wasted 35 minutes listening this.
Thx
I agree with Mr.Kennedy about American first mover advantage; however China has tremendous potential and energy, it can achieve more if it can become more open and devote into arts and cultural diversity. History had demonstrated China‘s dominance for thousands years and it is ontrack to re-emerge its premminance again.

Have yet to see a household famous Chinese consumer brand in the West. BYD’s representative on a recent Bloomberg interview was a flop, she has zero global awareness, which was painful to watch. BYD is supposed to be hot and she is all they got, not a confidence builder for Chinese business in general
Tiktok, DJI, Huawei, Xiaomi, Volvo (under Geely), Lenovo, GE appliances (under haier), Oppo, Vivo, Temu, Shein etc
Some of the movies people watch in theaters are co produced by big Chinese companies, e.g. Legendary Pictures. Nio does sell EVs overseas, mainly in Scandinavia. Havel is the most famous go-to brand in Russia. They replaced all the BMW, Mercedes, VW, and Toyota in Russia now.
Xi may not be perfect, but at least he can find his way on & off the podium. 🤣🤣🤣🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦
He started out as a gentleman, then all of a sudden turned into a crazy rant in the middle of it... Like it was triggeres by some anti C vaccine. What a barking show...
Huawei has been doomed… … 😂
Informative and interesting reports about Chinese Companies that the US can emulate to improve the lives of Americans instead of wasting taxpayers money on futile wars.

Hahahahahahaha
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣✌️👍
