Hi, Catfish Dave, You make me want to get out and go fishing. Tennessee is my hometown, but I live in Georgia now since 1997. Thanks for sharing your fishing journey.
Some of the best fishing is when storms are rolling in. Fish hit when they normally would not AND the storms keep the part timer boat types who are askeered of weather to stay home = TYVM.
About the drift sock to keep the boat straight, I just use a cheap Lindy sock for that...a small one, it's just 36 inches but does the trick nicely and didn't cost much...works great on our 18 foot toon.
Hey Catfish Dave, I live around Gainesboro, TN on Cordell Hull part of the Cumberland River. We would love to see what comes out of there. I personally haven't had luck but I'm just learning the area. We anticipate every time you post a new video.
I caught a new jet black PB FLATHEAD 28.55 last night in the Saginaw River. West side of state has big Flatheads as well. Fishing where my buddy caught a 46. I know you use heavy gear. I caught it on my #3 rod at the moment. A Shakespeare Tiger combo. But, I swear Michigan Flatheads fight harder per LB than any Catfish in the Tennessee River. Dave don't watch football. Take a road trip to Michigan. We will catch you live Bluegills. No Blues here. But, it's easier to catch big Channel Catfish here. Lots of good urban spots that have bridges & lots of hiding places. Fish from shore or your boat. It's as easy as: 1 live bluegill 2 night 3 good spot I don't know what the morning bite is like. I don't get up early either. Lol.
I sat thru a summer storm one day. With bow against a high bank wind over top of me . cooler lid over my head because of big hail. I pulled in there because no trees. About 20 minutes and it was gone. I tell everyone if I live another 80 years I'll get cat fishin figured out.. And maybe women. ...
Here in Mississippi, I’m a lot like the catfish down here… I eat a bunch of white perch (aka Crappie). Caught a mess of them yesterday. Love your videos Dave!
Hello Dave, your really lucky that you can do what you do. Time on the water sure does pay off doesn’t it. Where are the Flatheads Is it time yet? I know you know where they are so how come we aren’t seeing you catch them, what’s up with that? Are you holding out on us? Thanks friend for your time on the water and these GREAT VIDEOS
i usually use small live yellow, white, and striped bass, should i be cutting the fins off the live ones for a better bite? its hit or miss with them but i also only want the big fish, quality over quantity for me
Awesome content brother! Got me hungry, some good looking sammichz you tossed back! Do you ever keep any? Can't remember any videos that you keep any in..
I think water temperature plays a roll in bait type. I fish a lot of soft plastics and theres an obvious difference in summer lures and winter. I can fish the same type of bait but I have to change brands.I think the water temperature dictates how well the chemical scents or attractants disperse. Summer time I only use Strike Kings Coffee Scented plastics. Winter I have to use the oilier, traditional type plastics. And I believe its because in the hotter water that coffee scent is kicking but in cold water it just stays stuck to the plastic. So id surmise maybe in the really hot water some bait fish are gonna have a stronger attractant or oder. I would try a bait fish that is known for being parasite and bacteria free during the hottest temps. I mean,You never know until you throw.
Great video! I'm new to the SW and cat fishing. Going to Pickwick in a week or so, going to try stripper below the dam and catfish above. Would you anchor and fish on the bottom or do a troll like in this video? Thanks for any info and I'll watch some more of your videos to learn more.
Dave,Have you ever used a penn 209 level wind reel to catch catfish. Are they hard to cast? I was gave some and wondered if it’s worth the time to clean the and try fishing with them??
Storms?????? Our corn an soybeans up here are stressed reminds me of 1988. Haven't mowed in 7 weeks. My river here has turned into a prop eater. Ya got to slow down, I went from a 12ft hole right into 1ft in a second. Average depth is around 4ft or so. My fishing is hit an miss. This morning was a miss just small guys. Glad to see your catching fish.
Keep on putting out killer music on a killer takedown...I'm going to have to request a copy of the first 'Catfish Dave CD'...just saying. Now it's time for a piece of cheese....
"Boats float best... when the water is under the boat." - Catfish Dave (haha... brilliant!)
Those rolling hills in the background are absolutely beautiful with that water
Another great fishing tip from a pro cat fishermen Dave .Will be trying it tomorrow .
I don't comment much but your channel is my go to for catfish videos. Keep up the good work Dave.
Best fishing UA-cam channel going in my humble opinion!

100% agree
I like to use largemouth bass, preferably in front of a guy on his 100000 bass boat lol
Oh man. You done getted that bass fisherman! You cat fishers guys are so damn smart!
Ah yes, the ole green carp is good bait. They’re the most overrated species in the world.
After one catfish’s all others just fade away! Bass was all I did till catfish. Now all I see from bass is bait!!!😂
Them flatheads in most river systems like largemouth and smallmouth bass, where legal that is, hmmm 🤔....
😅😅😅
Cant get away to fish so ill fish with Dave. Thanks again brother.
God bless

Thanks Dave for This Video Great I love Fishing TX.
Be sure when you buy a drift sock you get the right one for right side an left sock for left side.
About the drift sock to keep the boat straight, I just use a cheap Lindy sock for that...a small one, it's just 36 inches but does the trick nicely and didn't cost much...works great on our 18 foot toon.

Channel Cats mostly up there, but there are some occasional flatheads and blues.
At least your getting rain. Very dry here in Missouri. Rivers are low, ground is crazy dry. Enjoy

Dave, you need a Bimini top to keep sun and rain off of you, the camera and the boat .
kegiatan memancing yang sangat menyenangkan. Untung hujannya segera berhenti

Yeah, it’s no secret. Lol.😂😂😂😂😂
The boat works best when the water is under the boat. Yup!!!
Unfortunately we can't use yellow or white bass in texas and we do not have any skipjack but we do have shad
Here in Mississippi, I’m a lot like the catfish down here… I eat a bunch of white perch (aka Crappie). Caught a mess of them yesterday. Love your videos Dave!

i usually use small live yellow, white, and striped bass, should i be cutting the fins off the live ones for a better bite? its hit or miss with them but i also only want the big fish, quality over quantity for me
Knoxville tn is the best place to catch big cats!
Hey Dave I never owned a drift sock but did make my own you can use some rope and a bucket of even a big coffee tin
Were i live in the south , we call crappie white perch.. we can't fish with them here because they are considered gamefish..
I don't know we're in the hell you live but I know for fact that people in the south do not call crappy white perch you got to be a damn Yankee
It's only illegal if you're caught
white perch and white bass are diffrent and white perch taste alot better also and get alot bigger than a yellow bass
Witch bait brings the Dang Blasted Rain the fastest? Good one Dave, Jeff in LA USA
Awesome content brother! Got me hungry, some good looking sammichz you tossed back! Do you ever keep any? Can't remember any videos that you keep any in..

Hi Dave!
A bucket and some rope makes an effective drift sock on the cheap.
