Free Low Pressure Rinse for Lanolin Coated Undercarriages

- Before the Vermont winter got too nasty, I sprayed my truck's underbelly with Lanolin sealant so I have to be careful not to use high pressure spray that could rinse the lanolin off the steel it is protecting. I looked at a number of undercarriage solutions but too expensive and too complex. I just needed something to connect to the garden hose. And then I realized I already had everything I needed to effectively rinse off the underside of my new Ram 1500 4x4. This solution is easy and works perfectly. Take a look!

Thanks for the tip...coming up by you in a couple of weeks - Andover-Weston. God Bless:)
Hey that’s awesome! Safe travels 🙏❤️
Good idea! 👍
Man I looked at all kinds of crazy contraptions. The answer was in my hand the whole time lol
@@sstressfl I almost bought an attachment for my pressure washer on wheels with like 3or4 spray tips. I like yours better🔥💯🇺🇲
@@paulcondie2520 I saw those too! This works 😁
Hey Michael, I recommend in the spring for a cheap DIY, buy a new clean lawn pressure sprayer, they are like 20 bucks the one used to spray weed control. Mix 1 part baking soda to 2 parts or 3 parts water turn, the nozzle up towards the undercarriage and start spraying. Baking soda neutralizes the salt. And then use your technique in the video to rinse off at the end. Let the baking soda sit for half an hour or so. I live in Canada and do that for my ATS every spring.👍
Awesome tip! Thanks man!!! 🙏
When you open the doors, look down into the front fender. There’s a pocket there that holds dirt and all sorts of stuff. My 2010 you could see it plain as day, then in 2017 they put a foam like cover over it! Not fixed. Anyhow, they will rust big time there and over the rear wheel wells. My 2010 is rotted bad at the fenders. I have three of them for service trucks. 2500’s.
Thanks for the tip! I’ll take a look.
Nice rig! Will Fluid Film last going through auto car washes?
From what I've seen online high pressure washes it off. But if the car wash does not have an underbody spray, you'd be fine!
@@sstressfl Thanks bud!
BTW what was the name of the undercoating you mentioned? Where do you get it and did you apply it yourself or get it done somewhere? Thanks
Fluid Film in cans at Home Depot. Not as good as the pro kit you can buy but better than nothing :) I bought 4 cans! www.homedepot.com/p/FLUID-FILM-Long-Lasting-Rust-and-Corrosion-Protectant-Lubricant-and-Penetrant-Solvent-Free-Non-Toxic-Non-Hazardous-Lanolin-Based-AS11/311803920
@@sstressfl Thanks seems to be highly rated:)
Get some fluid film on there
It has fluid film that’s why I’m using low pressure rinse 👍💪
