Thanks for this. I have learned a lot in the last year watching videos like this as I work to get the old American Flyer equipment I have been getting back into service.

I’m glad you found it useful. I’m also glad you’re getting your equipment back into service. It’s a great hobby. Thanks for watching.

Thank you for the tips you have shown in these videos. They are quite valuable. Who would have thought that so many supplies could be found in the beauty care aisle in stores. I am going to try the WD40 in the smoke chamber of one of my locomotives as it smokes well at first and then it fades quickly. Have you done any more with the hump yard? That was very interesting to me as well.

Thank you for your comments. I don’t have the hump yard set up at the moment but will do more with it at some time. Thanks for watching.

CRC 226 and mineral oil is it. American Flyer track cleaning fluid for keeping rust off. All that other stuff isn't necessary. Mineral oil cleans plastic and metal using cotton swabs. Go light on the paint and avoid graphics as much as you can. Stay away from chemicals and alcohol.

Be very careful with brake fluid!
It is a definite paint remover.
Some times it is OK to remove paint from plastic parts, SOMETIMES not hurting plastic.
Be very careful with brake fluid.

Yes, I agree. I don't use it, myself, and tried to add a warning about using it in my video. As I mentioned in the previous video, I was trying to bring together ideas from a variety of other videos. I saw this in several other videos and thought it was at least worth acknowledging even if I don't do it. It's kind of like my recommendation with a Dremel style tool- it can be very useful if you know how to use it properly but, if not, practice on something else before using it on your trains. Thanks for watching and for the comment.
