Unfortunately the flood waters are still rising here in Orenburg Russia. My family (English/Russian) and extended Russian family were evacuated and 3 of our homes and business have been flooded here in Orenburg. I show you where the water levels have risen to.
We are now asking you for any support and we would be very grateful for donations our house is completely flooded and we have lost all of our possessions like many other families as well as our extended family.

Читал, вроде, как, если в переводе указать "БЛАГОТВОРИТЕЛЬНОСТЬ" , то можно переводить в любой банк РФ и тогда вам потом перед Налоговой не придётся отчитываться и платить 13%. Завтра уже вода пойдет на спад.Главное,что все живы,здоровы.Даже удивитесь,как быстро уходит вода.В нашем городке Козельске тоже был разлив, народ плавал на лодках на 2 улицах,ближних к реке, МЧС привозили питание и воду.Вода стояла несколько дней.Но не так сильно,как у вас , конечно .Все наладится,Бог поможет

Да весенняя вода уходит почти сразу (вот я попал на осенний разлив там был ужас длиною почти в год, разлилось и все замерзло прямо фильм ужасов, морозы дома внутри в сосульках на полу лед, но ничего все восстановили и живем дальше)

Not a tragedy. Temporarily difficulties. Be cool. Local goverment announced that people whos homes got damaged will get compensation. Those who lost homes completely will get money for relocation.
Most likely, the federal authorities will build private homes for all those who have lost them, in another place, above. I assume that they will do it in the summer, in the fall, before the cold weather, they will all move into new houses. This was the case with unprecedented fires in 2010. This flood in Orenburg is the largest in the entire history of observations, it is unprecedented. I think everything will be fine and people will find new housing for free.

Они уже говорили, что будут сушить дома специальными пушками, делать дезинфекцию, и выдавать средства для дальнейшей обработки. По ущербу будут созданы комиссии. Очень надеюсь, что власти сделают всё, что обещают. Держитесь!!!

This reminds me of the test of the human spirit from the bible. God wanted to see how strong in his faith was somebody. It really feels like if you pass this, honestly, tremendous test, that the future will be nothing short of happiness every day and night. You are keeping together very well. Осенью много дождей, зимой много снега, потом среди зимы оттепель и образовался ледяной наст, который и не дал воде впитаться, потом снова снега и быстрое таянье. Это катастрофа, конечно. It is interesting to see the green sand bags on the other side of the road like they are already expecting that road to go under.
Yes they have been preparing that section of the road since this morning. And now a big blockade next to the church and what was our road entrance to our village. Just surreal to see. But yes waters are still rising. Just hoping the church doesn’t get flooded too much it was only built last year. 🙏❤️

Hi Martin, consider buying a yurt (possibly, Kazakh yurt) and creating all conditions in it. Yurts are very warm and are thousands of times less dear than houses.

Martyn, have you heard the news that compensation for the loss of housing will be 68.7 thousand rubles per 1 square meter. Maybe this will make you a little happy, if you can say so in this situation. Of course, this is not enough, but still.
Hopefully it will be the full square footage of the house for people. But in my extended family 2 of the houses won’t qualify and Yuliya’s sister lived in one of these houses that were flooded and won’t qualify for the compensation

That is a decent compensation, around 17 mln ₽ for 250 m2 house for instance ( if compensations is for a full footprint). You can build a new one from scratch.

Орск выше по течению, там вода уходит, в Оренбург приходит, вот в чем дело. Прочитала где-то, что поднимется еще на 5 - 40 см, на 40 см -это максимум вроде бы. Надеюсь, эти многоэтажки не затопит, только подойдет к ним, видно, что они выше.

Мартин u are good at reporting. Переживала за вас вчера, думала, что вы уже эвакуировались. Если некуда уезжать, то объявите об этом дополнительно на вашем канале, не стесняйтесь. Мэр Оренбурга сказал, что эвакуация из города уже идёт и места для этого подготовлены. Но вчера на РБК были сюжеты с места событий, показали, что в Оренбурге все центры временного размещения людей уже заняты.
Отдельное внимание хочу обратить на приобретение необходимых вещей для волонтёров и спасаемых ими собак и кошек. Волонтёрам нужны моторы для лодок. Собакам нужны деревянные поддоны и мягкие подстилки, миски для еды. И вообще, их теперь из города тоже может быть придётся эвакуировать.

В Оренбурге 600 тысяч жителей. Затопило часть города. Из города никто не эвакуируется, внутри города происходит эвакуация. Собак, кошек и другую живность волонтёры по-максимуму спасают.

Shocking levels, from a plus side summer on the horizon and the dry out temperatures will help, if the construction companies did not cut corners a 1800mm foundation should be ok, brick built, the timber roof should be ok, personal items non insured will take a hit. Worst case you will get a certificate covering rebuild, but sadly the bits and bobs from the U.K. is a problem, according to reports your at the max level hopefully turning point, the clean up is off the scale, keep positive god bless and keep safe.

There were no such floods for like 50+ years, and planing for private homes are "relaxed".

Maybe you guys should consider renting a large house, for grandparents, children, sister & yourselves to live in for a few months. Seems it will be at least several months more until some repairs can start. Emotional this will help you guys.
Hopefully if we can afford it we are maybe thinking that. But finances are very limited now to rent something as all of our houses were affected 3 in total in the family. 🙏❤️

Мартин, наводнению присвоили уровень ЧС (Черезвычайной ситуации) Федерального масштаба. Это значит, что выплаты должны быть. В сюжете телеканала "Мир 24" (канал "Евразия. НОВОСТИ") сейчас сказали, что сначала будут решать вопросы по жилым домам, потом по дачам и гаражам. Для получения выплат нужно обратиться на портал Госуслуги или в местный МФЦ (Многофункциональный центр).
Да, по поводу моего вопроса днём: я имела ввиду вашу further evacuation from the Orenburg city itself. But it looks like u are in relatively safe place, so u don't need to run away further :)

Surely your new build should be covered by insurance. You might have trouble with repeat cover, but it seems odd for the developers to proceed with a development with uninsurable risks. Nobody would be able to get a mortgage. The building is the ultimate security for the lender in the event of a default. They usually insist on adequate buildings insurance for the full rebuild cost of the property.
Insurance only covers the mortgage amount.

Is it just me, or does the local authorities look very poorly prepared, and they seem to have given up.
That church had time to be surrounded by makeshift barriers, but it looks as though there was simple no effort made to protect it.
I accept that perhaps the situation is simply out of control and the river cannot be redirected etc, but the images really seem to show an "oh well, lets just watch and wait" attitude from the local authorities.

So many lessons need to be learnt, and the local government needs to be investigated for how they've handled this natural disaster.
This flood is the strongest on record in Orenburg! The city of Orsk is located above. His deputy was warned about taking big measures for the upcoming floods. They ignored it. After the flood began, the dam (apparently not reliable, it will be checked by the authorities) in Orsk was broken by water, which is why the flood is so strong. Federal authorities have already opened criminal cases against the deputy and mayor of Orsk and developers. The governor of the Orenburg region said that compensation for victims will increase by 2 times. In Russia, unlike the rest of the world, especially in the West, after natural disasters, new housing is built for all those who have lost their homes! in a safer place! In general, I think that not only in the floodplain, the place of the river flood and 100 km further from the rivers, you just need to ban the construction of residential buildings! It's all developers and people's desire to live with a view of the river or next to the river. Their desire gives rise to the desire of developers to please customers. This needs to stop, I think. Every year, the state spends and compensates huge amounts of money from the federal budget for lovers of dachas and residential buildings near the river....It's time to stop this practice, we have somewhere to spend billions and trillions of rubles...
