Railroading at its finest! Big thanks to DIB from these historical captures
High hoods are amazing to watch good video
Love it when the railroad runs the high hood locomotives long hood lead, just something about the nostalgia of it!
Nice to see high hoods work. I don't see any videos of switching like you showed, It was both interesting and a learning process for me.
Thank you for documenting these high short hood Norfolk Southern engines on the Norfolk Southern lines around Jackson, Michigan, Drayton! As always, your videos are interesting to watch for the engines and historical information that you give us in your videos.
Its cool knowing I live literally 5 minutes from grass lake, and you filled this cool video
I grew up in Grass Lake.
@@DelayInBlockProductions nice man, born and raised for me, currently going through my junior year, I see trains going by and hear them all the time. they are actually, as I speak, replacing rail road ties, though town and west on Michigan ave
What a PERFECT ending to another great vedio!!!!
Your voice over edited work actually teaches me some about railroads, not just trains passing the camera. Thanks!
2012 was a hype time to a railfan ngl
I love the way 1632 look and sound strong and mean, love the horn too.
Keep it southern
As a lifelong resident of Jackson I am super shocked that all of these trains that we see and take for granted everyday are so impressive to the locomotive community.
RIP Jackson's old New York Central tri lights. You are missed. Witnessed the safetrans next to them shortly before they were all removed. Excellent video!
3:31 Whoa! 😳 NS 5084 was rocking and rolling there for a second
Awesome video Drayton! Keep up the good work. Always so interesting, facinating and informative. Kitty needs to be put on a diet
Always enjoy your in depth videos...keep up the awesome work!
Great compilation of those high hoods! It’s so cool seeing something we don’t get too see very often. 😉👍🏻🎥💯
Drayton, your drone footage is top notch.
Also a joy to see glorious High Hoods
Used to call that fly shunting in the UK. It isn't done anymore as so called block trains never need shunting. Another enjoyable video, I do like the high hood locomotives!
I love trains so much. they are beautiful!
1632, what a beauty. SD40-2 with a high nose, the way a diesel locomotive should look. And sound, too.
I can see the Conrail caboose ,;It brings back some fond memories.
Maybe things will return to some days of old!
So much history here! Love your videos, DIB
Excellent video!
NS5044: the long hood is the front
Good video
High hoods are still going strong 💪 to this day
And LHF ♥️
I sure wish we could get a couple of high hoods back in Asheville, NC, again. We haven't seen high hoods here in a long, long time. For a long time that's all we had on almost all our locals(44, 89, 33, 31, 87, 60/61, 23, 25, 71, 59). Now they're all the refurbished cab units. Anyway, it's good to see there are still some out running on the system. Thank you, Mr. Blackgrove, for this great video! Keep up the good work.
Yuh
You can tell 5084 started life as a Southern unit.
I surely miss that dome car when it was owned by Amtrak it now resides on the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad it now sports a Western Maryland red stripe
*Me: The High Hood SD40-2 Locomotives Are Pretty Rare As Of 2022*
There’s a pair of GP38-2 HH’s that are used as Remotely Operated Yard power for Norfolk Southern’s Rutherford Intermodal Yard located between Harrisburg and Hershey, Pennsylvania along the Harrisburg Line
I see them always sorting cars when I go by
I also remember seeing 5044 there as well
It was the 3rd unit (before getting relocated)
great video... especially the switching at the end... also good to see a "full crew" and not that RCL one frickn' man crap
I just love those good old high hoods
Amazing video great photography
Still hear Sou horn . Remember this unit passing on S Line as kid .
Wonderful video 😮 love your swiching Videos. HOPE you do these Videos again...Be exciting to see other switching on this line again 🎉😂❤❤❤❤
Thanks, Ya'll great video!!!
Fantastic video! Long live the high hood!👍👍💪
New to railfanning but already an NS guy.
Welcome to the hobby!
Great video love the hi hoods! For many years there was an NS gp38-2 stationed at the yard in Durham NC. I haven’t been by there in a few years but I’m assuming it’s no longer there. Also man do I love hi hood sd40-2’s now that’s a handsome locomotive the long porches definitely make it stand out and now I want one for my ho scale collection! Lol
35:33 Even GE likes old EMDs!
Nice old Southern Locomotive.... pulling
Awesome!
I am sure one of those would bring our molten iron from Mittal in East Chicago to our mill in Riverdale Illinois. Now we have NS short hoods.
if you look at the csx line which is red you will see a town named fennville i live there
my birthday is the same day is this premier
It breaks my heart when any former Conrail or Penn Central power is marked for scrap They as most all gave many years of fathful service
Nice 5-chime Nathan air horn
Wow great video what a showcase of a neat Concept...wish State of Washington and Amtrak with the Ex NORTHERN PACIFIC RAILWAY RIGHT-A-WAY from Snohomish to Bellingham Washington via Lake Whatcom Railway track in many God Prayers...
they keep that engine more beautiful than any Union Pacific engine I've seen lately most the ones I see are all graffitied up and look like they've been bamboozled
Nice Video
🚂🍀🇮🇳🍀🚂
It looks as though the maintnance of way Those boxcars look as though they once reefer cars
Cool that the railroad doesn't have a problem with you operating the drone so close to the locomotives and over the property. I can imagine somebody banning that someday, may as well enjoy it while you can.
nice
I run 10 and 2 all the time
Question are there any Canadian Railways with High Hood locomotives?
Are the horns on 5094 old cast p5s?
High hoods here in East Chicago pull hot bottle cars to inland steel.
What does B34 run now?
Isn’t NS 5044 owned by TVRM?
The old gal is running with no problem.
Great coverage 😍👌 Love from => Train Lover Himu
Be interesting if Drones are (That Delay block drone shot showed a interesting CONCEPTS.......JUST THICK WHAT DELAY BLOCK COULD HAVE INSPIRED ..PERHAPS IMPROVING RAILWAY SAFETY???)used in Switching moves...and During road Jobs COULD THEY PREVENT WASH OUTS AND GRADE CROSSING ACCIDENTS IF TRAINS Crews could see the tracks ahead and have time to react....The conductors or switchmen riding the cab could operate these Drones🎉🎉🎉😂❤...It be cool if these drones prevent. Railway head on collisions.....Could you imagine a Conductor flying a drone says "theres a train heading our way 4 miles ahead..AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHYES "...........😢😢😢😢😢😢😢🎉😂😂❤❤❤❤❤
I strongly believe the overweight cat is missing something in her diet that her body craves. The solution to keeping her healthy is to give her the best quality cat food available.
I would try supplementing her diet with superfoods such as organic barley grass juice powder and cracked chlorella. The ideal food would be organic, pasture-raised or wild poultry giblets & eggs, and wild, ocean-caught fish.
The key is quality, not quantity -to assure she is getting the micro-nutrients not found in mass-produced supermarket pet foods, which are scandalously laden with antibiotic residues and devoid of good nutrition.
You will find all of your pets eating less but growing healthier. Properly fed domestic cats and dogs can live to over 30 years and freer of the common afflictions of old age.

Id like to see all power be retrofitted
with positive train control .
Since seeing the horror of 911 !!
I liked 7004 better.
