Sad to see the McGrew Yard offices all boarded up and the yard itself being used as storage. I remember when my Dad worked there and picking up his paycheck and mail from the old mailboxes and getting dinner at The Stables. My Dad worked for C&O for 40 years out of McGrew, Maple Road, Grand Blanc and for a time out of Wixom, when the plants started shutting down or cutting back in the '70s.
Thank you for this video of Lake States Railway's Flint and Port Huron Subdivision, Drayton! I found this video entertaining and informative. Hopefully, some other industries that will require rail service will take over the plants that closed in Port Huron, Michigan.
Wow !!! this vid is really great. I have always wondered where these trains go to and has been a mystery. Thank you for revealing this to me. I would love to see more of this.
Good to see that someone made a video about Lake State Railroad Flint sub, now I know to put Atwood Junction in my titles when I catch them there. If only I could listen to them on a scanner have not found the right channel yet.
We have a look at Lake State Railway operating a former CSX line. Catching switching operations, train chases on the Lake State Railway. They have a unique color job. Keep this up, we want to see more.
My old stomping grounds!!! Lived near the line just off richfield rd 😊😊😊 worked at a restaurant on Dort highway between carpenter and Coldwater rd !!😅😅😅😅😅😅
Locomotives sometimes get lended over to other railroads, of which the railroad will get back. However, railcars are destined to ride whatever rails they're carried on, they aren't bound to their home tracks.
Excellent video. I think the MP15 is now my favorite vintage loco, at least among those that can be somewhat commonly found in use. Although I’ve heard they are rough-riding at speed, so the multi-purpose designation is a bit of a stretch. As the paper industry continues to evolve rapidly, Dunn Paper has been renamed BiOrigin Specialty Products. Apparently the Menominee Michigan mill will remain open as upgrades have been made to the machinery.
Just curious if there was any railroad personnel that didn't like the use of a drone to fly near the trains in operation? The only reason I ask is because I also have a drone and want to do similar videos or photos with my drone.
Before the CN Railroad destroyed all it's Short Line's they bought. In Durand you had the GTW Railroad and The Awesome DT&I Railroad at one time all met there and did switching Car's with each other. SAD!!!! Both are now gone BUT the GTW got it's Karma for what they did to The DT&I Railroad. CN Railroad did the samething to the GTW Railroad Karma is a Bitch sometimes.
what a fool the sd 40 and sd 50 did not have to work hard that is over 1 horse power per ton. that is a lot of power. i see the CSX move 6000 tons with 1 sd 40
I just love shortlines and regional railroads. They provide so much unique motive power
That is a very beautiful locomotive paint scheme. Great drone shots of the paper plant. Very cool bridge shot.
Your video work is so nice with the inclusion of drone footage.
Thanks.
This is a very interesting railroad, thank you so much for the wonderful footage 😊
Many thanks!

perfect work.thanks for this entertainment.
Need the conductors special from hornblasters on that caboose
Sometimes BNSF coal trains can still be seen barreling north, up the line.
Cool to see an SRY car on the last train, never knew that a car from Southern Railway of British Columbia would be out that far
Railcars go anywhere.

Good video
If I owned a railroad, I'd paint my engines fancy like these.
Huge section of land there used to be railroad
Great video!
Excellent.

I lived in Wixom.
Was this railroad called the tuscola and Saginaw bay before
No sir, that’s the Great Lakes Central you’re thinking of.
@@DelayInBlockProductionsWhat was #3280 and #3381 for?😂
@@DelayInBlockProductions😂😅Where did they get #3280 out of the deal?!
Are you guys using the dji inspire drone?
I would love to model this line.
Negative, DJI Air 2S.
@@DelayInBlockProductions Have the Air2s, it's amazing for it's size and weight. Excellent stability in some high winds. Nice video work.
Loco and all the rolling stock are gone and the bridge over the Black River is in the up position.
How many gallons of fuel are in those tanks?
The caboose toots lol
Was Dunn a union plant? Probably why.

Nice
Be interesting if they perhaps start manufacturing HEMP PAPER ?....❤❤😢🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Does homeboy work for Amtrak too😂
Watching the locomotives and cars shake tell me how shitty the
rail is on this line.
I am sure Governor Whitmer celebrated the closing of the companies with champagne. Her administration continues to be very anti business.
About 100 good paying jobs lost.
Fellow Michiganian here. I couldn't agree more!
Dunn paper will never reopen , prime real estate for condos..😒
That right of way serviced the Grand Trunk shops that was located on the point until the shops burned down many years ago.
