- The Motorola DROID Turbo could be the best phone we've reviewed this year. It's packed with the same specs as the flagship and huge Nexus 6 - except the enormous size. The DROID Turbo comes with a 5.2-inch Quad HD Display, a 2.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM, and the Adreno 420 GPU, meaning that this thing is not messing around.

That screen is exquisite! I can only imagine what it looks like I'm the flesh coz even in the video is just popping like crazy and looks flawlessly sharp. Don't know why reviewers keep knocking the Moto cameras. They're hardly the best but they aren't so bad that they deserve this MEH kinda reaction everyone. Those shots looked really great to my eye.
I've have noticed a lot of people unhappy that this is only available on Verizon. Good. Its about time that us Big Red users get such a great phone. Everyone on a GSM carrier gets all these great devices like oppo, the ascend mate 7, one plus one, etc. Unless I, like many others pick up and move to a more saturated GSM area. I'm limited to Sprint, Verizon, and half assed prepaid CDMA carriers and the small variety of phones available. I hope there is not an unlocked GSM variant. Let us CDMA users have a moment in the sun.
I was about to get this phone until I found out it was only available for Verizon, this phone is so perfect except for the camera, Verizon customers sure are lucky
Well since the 90% of the world uses GSM, its would be logical for OEMs to make GSM phones. They'll make more profit. I guess that's the price you pay for using CDMA. :/ (FYI, this phone is factory unlocked so you can use it on T-Mobile and AT&T).
Don't tell them it's unlocked. Ssshhhhhhh. Lol. Things will be better when all carriers use the same network type. Then you choose a carrier based on plan prices and features.
I am on verizon and have until next febuary to get my upgrade I plan on moving to the droid turbo from my gs4 cause I do like the stock look and the quick updates. I will have to wait and see what the m9 and the g4 will look like before I decide to get the turbo.
Bad news . I bought one and I am using it on t-mobile. It's an unlocked phone and has all the LTE bands . Sorry

Dogfight! - Motorola Droid Turbo vs. Motorola Nexus 6
I'm very interested in both phones but also very torn between which I should invest in. I am a Verizon customer and unfortunately the Nexus 6 has not been scheduled for a Verizon release... yet, so I cannot purchase the Nexus as of now. My debate is whether to wait for the Nexus 6 or just get the Droid Turbo. Your help would be much obliged.

there is a sim card slot in the side. the volume keys come out.

This phone in Puerto Rico is all ready in the Claro network as the moto maxx.... Great all around phone

I have it. Get a good phone. It doesn't support marshmellow. Oneplus is better

me also but I have the version.32gb nylon version. This is a absolute beast of a phone.
Some reviews have mentioned that the ballistic nylon version makes frequent cracking noises. Do you have a case on your phone to lessen the noise? I'm looking to get this phone soon.

Even on a phone with such great specs, Chrome still lags considerably. I'm tired of it being so laggy compared to stock browsers. Why doesn't google fix this? And why doesn't anybody else talk about it?
Does youtube actually play in 2k? I have a note 4 and UA-cam maxes out at 720p? what gives?
That is a limitation of the youtube app, they tried streaming in 1080p for a little but then they reverted back to a 720p max for some reason. I'm guessing phones were having issues with it
Depends on your device and varient. I have a galaxy tab so 10.5 Wi-Fi and it shows 1440p. Some people with LTE varients of different kinds only get upto 720p.
That is the UA-cam native app. To watch 4k videos you have to go into Chrome to the UA-cam site and select the higher resolution.
I think so.....I haven't tried with any of phone with 1080p and above display yet, but I did with my ipad. I'm using Droid Maxx
and BTW I think you used mobile data instead of wifi? maybe?

The xperia z3 has a much better battery
In my experience, it has a marginally better battery, because it has a lower-resolution screen and slightly less powerful processor. Unfortunately, you can't get the Z3 on Verizon, only their ugly perversion of it.
In my experience with the phone, I've gotten over 6 hours of screen on time with it. That's the best out of any smartphone that I've ever used, including the Note 3.
Why Motorola?!?!? You take an absolute monster of a phone, and put it into the ugliest piece of crap I have ever seen. 2011 anyone? Motorola, what are you doing?? One of the best devices of the year looks like a chunky, completely unappealing revival of the Droid X2! SMH Motorola......
