Thats so wrong its not even funny. He wrote Django before this episode came out lol He wrote Django around 2007 and this episode came out a year later. Dont use "I think" in your sentence and actually know the facts.
@dafool760 Season 2 started airing october 2007 ..This episode aired in 2008 majority of season 2 was probably already completed by 2007 when adult swim started airing season 2. Correction to your facts... the development for the Django script "started" in 2007 and the final draft was submitted to the production company in 2011 ...thats a 4 year gap so there is a strong possibility whether Tarantino admitted or not did get influence from this episode.
I'm black, and I'm not even that uncomfortable. Sadly, slavery was a thing, and a lotta black people back then were called slurs. Funny episode tho. One of my favs!!!
Here's a fun fact about The Story of Catcher Freeman episode. Cultural References: The character of Catcher Freeman and the slave rebellion of the Colonel's plantation may be a reference to Nat Turner(4:16) and the famous slave rebellion of 1831, which was lead by Nat Turner himself. Catcher Freeman quotes the final lines of the shows theme song(2:49) while speaking with Thelma(11:16-11:18).
So the story of catcher Freeman, I didn’t know was something based off of a true story until years later after I moved to Maryland. You have to look it up it’s based off of a true character. No one that a lot of us probably have heard of, but he supposedly did a lot of great things. My motherwas a schoolteacher in the Prince Georges counties school district, and there were stories that were told by the teachers to the students about an indigenous freedom fighter liberating his people therefore, a.k.a. catcher Freeman
17:19 I don’t wanna make this political but it’s kind of sad that uncle ruckus was a fictional character, but these days there are real people like uncle ruckus, Candace Owens she hates 🥷😂😂

Friendly reminder that slave abuse laws did exist in those times and if caught you would probabky be found guilty, there was an instance where a woman was so mean to her slaves that the whole town came to her house to take her slaves away, and one of the slaves chained in the kitchen started a fire intentionally which burned the house down with everybody in it

I think Quentin Tarantino saw the catcher Freeman story and wrote Django🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
Interesting! 🤔
That's what I thought too.
@@WellHelloSilly Django is partially inspired by the true story of Dangerfield Newby who joined John Brown's Rebellion in order to rescue his family.

The give em a biscuit line is quick but very deep. Yes a lot of informants on plantations were literally given biscuits as a reward.
11:16 I just realized catcher freeman stole that line from the intro song 😂
Woah!!! Best. Easter. Egg. Ever!! 👍-M@
Just an FYI..uncle ruckus tuba theme is a homage to the star wars villian Jabba the Hutt.
When you get to the Color of Ruckus you’ll understand why he’s the way he is
Colour ruckus and Uncle Ruckus Reality show is gonna be too funny when they react to it 😂.
We just did that reaction (check it out) and holy moly was it uncomfortable at times. Still hilarious.
@@WellHelloSilly When did you upload it ?
It's more like when you finally meet his family
Catcher Freeman is based Nat Turner who led a rebellion
It’s an amalgamation of Nat Turner and Harriet Turner
And Tobias is an allegory of Roots’ “Kunta Kente”, also known as “Toby”.
Somebody mentioned it earlier but yea Catcha Freeman is based on a real person named Nat Turner who led a slave rebellion.
Its crazy that you guys are watching this during a writer's strike and @8:23 he says there's a writers strike😅

Catcher Freeman is based on Nat Turner , Django didn’t come out until 2012.
I keep coming back to this episode 😂
The spiritual at the credits I used for my ringer for a while. Used to LMAO when I got a call at work.

No, Catch a Freeman = Nat Turner and the movie was “The Birth of a Nation”. It was not Django.
