I. grew up watching. game shows I love them and password was one of my favorite
Normally I don't watch this show but I like the couples and the couples with their kids. I like the interaction.
Lucy was a master player!
The "Lucy Show" episode she references at the beginning where she conducted a symphony was a comedic masterpiece. Check it out if you've never seen it. It's incredible in that she doesn't utter a word throughout most of the episode. If she had been born earlier she would have been great in silent movies.
I laughed thru most of this. Lucy and Gary were very funny. Gary not knowing what admonish meant was a hoot.
Lucy was sharp as a tack. One of a kind.

The show is always funny when Lucy and Gary on it, but I've noticed that Lucy likes to make kind of a spectacle of herself on those lightening rounds pretending that she's shocked every times she does it
(and yes, Lucy and Viv were paired together on a later show)
Not sure why I am enjoying these kind of show compare to new game show lol. I am on a roll watching.

Allen’s remarks on occasion were more like digs. Strange, because he usually stayed within the bounds of courtesy.

Funny how they asked the female contestant if she was married and they asked what the male contestant did for a living. I wonder when it changed and more women had careers than ever before and some men stayed home and not everyone got married.
There were pre-interviews with contestants. Allen already knew what was interesting about each contestant.
When the government realized they could steal more taxes from a 2 income family.

I read somewhere that Lucy's children wanted Gary out of there mother's house. He put it up for sale. He married again after she passed away.

I think Betty White was the best female player on Password. I guess because she was on so much. The best men players were Martin Milner from Adam 12. The other was Greg Morris of old mission impossible

Eydie Gorme was good, too, and so was Paul Anka.
It would have been more fun if they didn't tell us the password could guess with them
this game must have general answers sheet to remember beforehand. its like the password is “filet mignon” and the contestant says dinner and the person guessing immediately says filet mignon? 🤨🤷🏼♂️.. wtf
This is great! However, it’s kind of hard for me to watch because some of the old game shows were rigged.
That happened in the '50s. This show was not rigged.
None of the game shows of the 60s were rigged. They wouldn't dare, after what happened in the 50s.

Matt Albrecht If you mean a relative of Archie Leach, wrong. But correct if you mean the usual no-talent parasite that attaches itself to a successful star, a leech. Gary used to tell interviewers that since he was working in nightclubs, he hadn't seen I Love Lucy. Well, a lot of people know that Monday nights, when Lucy was on, was the week's worst night for nightclubs, so bad that most didn't even open.
He married Lucy for her money. She was the richest woman in Hollywood. People called him "Mr. Lucille Ball." If anyone had ever dared to call Desi Arnaz "Mr. Lucille Ball" they would have received a black eye.
@@josephpanzarella1417 Didn't Gary offer to sign away any rights to Lucy's money before they married, of his own accord. I think that was in Lucy's own book. I think he really loved Lucy, the children always seem to speak well of him in interviews that I have seen, but to be fair I have only looked up a few of their interviews. Lucy was a very beautiful woman, Gary was a lucky guy.

I used to think Lucy ruled that marriage. The way I heard it was she told him. He couldn't cheat or he was on his way out. I guess because desi st cheated on her all the time
Actually no Lucy very much consulted Gary on every decision that was made. She would often tell people when asked what she wanted to see what Gary thought. He says she always asked him for his opinion on all decisions, that she treated him like he was the man of the house. But yes she told him she wouldn't put up with cheating at all.
