Maybe he's at a fast food pizzeria like New York Slice where they sell singular slices of pizza, and its the sales assistant screwing up by asking for his address, which is why the robot gets confused and doesn't answer.
You have to kind of inhale and talk at the same time, he explains it in part 9 of their Banjo Kazooie series. It's actually easier than it sounds, I can do it now too ^_^

the lip syncing is so natural partly because the whole face moves. not just making a mouth symbol move on top of a static face layer.
Someone needs to take the audio clips of the robot talking, actually call up a pizza joint and record the following conversation.
