We had it fully installed 3 years ago, 4 units. It was 40°c here and the house was 20°c.
Last year was about an additional £100 for 3 months on electric for regular use throughout that time and the same for the previous 2 years.
    Well worth it

Thank you for sharing Andrew, most of Europe has air con it's just the UK that thinks it costs too much money to run

@@YorkiesBitsandBobs People think we’re super rich when we mention ac but we’re not. It was £6k fully installed but my argument is it's considerably cheaper than many cars people drive and we don’t have expensive holidays. As you say, in Europe it’s just considered normal and I noticed when they’re reported about the heatwave on the BBC FB page, lots of comments were not from the UK and just said “why not put on the ac?”.

I have Panasonic AC. My app shows that on 19th July 40c day, I was using 10kWh of electricity. Mind you I was WFH so had the AC on all day and night. My energy tariff is 19p per kWh so it cost me less than the price of a coffee.

Temp is taken from a little sensor inside the wall mount unit thats reading the temp of the air its sucking back in, The remote is kinda a dumb tv remote that only lets you send a command to the unit so theres no 2-way communication etc or sensors inside remote.
Its possible that your main AC is not actually reaching 21c on the temp sensor because of the large space its trying to cool but your bedroom will reach 21c. A real world temp of 21c in a room during hot weather is actually way way to cold for most people to be relaxing in!
Another common cause is if u set your fan speed too low in the bedroom the thermostat wont read the correct room temp because all the cold air is just dropping down low level and not circulating back up into the aircon well enough to give a correct reading.
"Disclaimer" Ive installed hundreds and hundreds of ACs including many fujistus

@@YorkiesBitsandBobs my flat is so much cooler in the summer than my mums house. So even though it’s been hotter this year my fan has sufficed but I’ve been looking at second hand portable machines though. It’s becoming pretty regular that we have extreme heat every summer now so you definitely made a good investment i think!

It's possible the one upstairs is reading the temperature outside?.. I know with some of these things you can have it show the temp from inside or outside, and it will be displayed on the actual unit. Not sure if that reading ends up on the remote. It'll be in the manual somewhere if it can change from inside or outside temp reading.
Ah yeah, another possibility is one is set to read the thermostat in the actual unit, and the other one is set to read the temp sensor that is in the remote control (if the remote has a sensor). A lot of systems have that ability to control the temp where the remote control is.
Trying to figure out the cost, it also helps to looks at the actual kilowatt hours. In your statements you actually used less electricity in the second one even though it cost quite a bit more more due to them upping the price. Someone in the comments noticed the days as well, so factoring them in, it's a miniscule difference between the average daily use:
    907 (Day) + 266 (Night) = 1173kWh /92 days = 12.75kWh per day average
    817 (Day) + 248 (Night) = 1065kWh /84 days = 12.68kWh per day average

@@YorkiesBitsandBobs You could stick the remote in the fridge for a couple of minutes and see if the temp on the display goes down lol. If not, then it's probably reading a temp sensor on the main unit...

@@YorkiesBitsandBobs On p35 of this manual I found for the ASYG09KMTA indoor unit
      it says:
      3) 30/31 Room temperature control for indoor unit sensor
      4) 35/36 Room temperature control for wired remote controller sensor
So maybe only a wired remote has the temp sensor with this system...
I know other systems have wireless remotes with temp sensors in them.
If the remote does have that function it'd probably be one button to turn it from unit to remote temp - not tucked away in some sub menu. And there is no such button. There is no diagram for a wired remote. Who has wired remotes these days anyway?.. "Hey Fujitsu, the 1980's called, they want their wired controllers back" lol..

Can you install the outside unit in your garage? I'm looking to put one in the hallway of the house and would be an easy install through the hallway wall into the integrated garage if it can be done

Placing a condenser unit indoors in an attic or garage will reduce your system's air supply, which will limit the amount of heat that it's able to remove from your home. In addition, placing a condenser unit indoors will cause the space around it to heat up, and that heat can radiate into your home's living spaces
